  1. Fine with me, are we swapping in something different for Alchemist then? If Engineer is the non-healing consumable buffer, Grenadier is the grenade consumable class, and Medic is the healing consumable class, do we just focus on Alchemist as a debuffer/negative effect consumable class? Also we should probably consider changing the traits for Hacker, Priest, and Warlock and enemies still don't have "types" yet.
  2. "I'm sure if it was an emergency a Steward would have let us know. You still haven't answered any of my questions though which I find concerning..." Soren Insight Proficiency Check (DC 1) - (5, 5, 3) 2 Successes The Cricet while excitable does seem to be honest. "What are you, some sort of pilot?" "Quavoron's the standard stuff for the propulsion, still requires a power source to get them to excite though. Kind of like an electro-magnet, 'cept in stead of creating a magnetic field, you're creating a gravity field. Much better than your typical combustion or arcane engines, but the radiation from your power source needs a bunch of shielding so it's only suitable for the bigger heavier vehicles." "Erling, really?" At this point a small black shape darts from under the work bench heading back for the door to Business Class.
  3. No problem, my question was more on how to organize the classes.
  4. So often, our characters never quite land where we thought they would. On a different topic, as I'm prepping the next rules revision and the Classes, does anyone have a preference in how to organize them? Alphabetical, Proficiency, "role"?
  5. "Uh huh, and I'd really like to know how you got in here. Perhaps I should call a steward." Soren Perception Proficiency Check (DC 1,3) - (2, 4, 5) 2 Successes Soren doesn't spot the drone, but he does note that the next door, presumably to the Engine, is magnetically sealed off with no space for squeezing underneath. "Haven't seen any drone, but we've been a bit busy since the train got underway." Soren Persuasion Proficiency Check (DC 1) - (2, 4, 5) 2 Successes "Aye you're right there, two hundred percent. Shouldn't be any issue though, the Express's hover mounts are cast out of Hydrocobalt, it could survive startravel if needed. No rush there, just trying out a new fuel source."
  6. "I'm sorry, who are you?" "Hold a gosh darn minute there, Marta, he saw the lights too and I was just sayin' we're losing velocity, even though we were boosting at 200% from the onset. Wait, what's this about a drone there?" "Never, but I'm sure we can make an exception, Mam."
  7. MM Note: You know, hacking is a thing. Soren Stealth Proficiency Check (DC 1) - (1, 5, 5) 2 Successes Soren Athletics Proficiency Check (DC 1, 3) - (6, 5, 5) 3 Successes Soren positions himself in front of the Engineering Door keypad. With an inconspicuous shift he slams the butt of his gun down on the door handle with enough force to bust through the lock. Slipping through the gangway connection, he finds himself with two Engineers in a heated argument. "...and then what do you think is going to happen? We're already nearly at 200% normal operating velocity." "She'll do find. Whatcha think I've been doing this entire time, just sitting on my paws there?" "I... um hello there?" The female human turns to Soren.
  8. Zaria Performance Proficiency Check (DC 1) - (2, 5, 1) 1 Successes While failing to convince the steward of the immediacy of her problem, Zaria does manage to get most of the attention on herself and off of Soren. "As I said, Mam, we'll get a note to them. If you'd like I can provide some complementary sunglasses in your car."
  9. Zaria Persuasion Proficiency Check (DC 1) - (1, 3, 1) 0 Successes "Mam, if you'll return to your seats, I can certainly have someone from Engineering step out when they've got a minute to speak with you about the matter."
  10. "Mervin Softpaw, at your service." "You are on Recivic dontcha know? In the middle of our winter solstice to boot. We're lucky to get a stretch without any blizzard. You'll get used to it though and yes, I'm the one who put out the advertisement." "Yeppers, that's me. Please have a seat, I'll get us some there drinks and then we can talk." MM Note: Adjusted, thanks. "Oh, but that is what makes it such a thrill there. Now lets see, you lot like a cup of skillfully made cocoa, strong coffee, or a smart mug of mulled wine?"
  11. Yelana notes her companions still missing, but the car is quiet. The Thudaal and Celestial are both reading, the Dwarf is still snoozing, and the Human seems to be playing a game on his holopad. "I'm sorry Mam, lighting? If you'd like we can dim the lights back in your car."
  12. "That is a fate worse than having your ears turned inside out by a Magroodian Swizzlebat." "Long story... actually short story, Hun. Chute was clogged by some psychic rats, ended up finding an unfortunate wretch holed up down there who had adopted the critters, and we got them relocated before blowing up the blockage with a bomb. Even after three showers I can still feel that clammy air though." Valesia drains half of her drink, before accepting the hand. "Valesia. Dying in Ætherspace would have been an interesting outcome, do you die here in the real world as well, or does your body just go about soulless?" "Ya know, I once thought green, black, and chai would be sufficient, now you lot have me scramblin' about for every oddball pack of leaves out there." Thorvald sets the kettle to boiling and goes searching in the back for a good ten minutes before arriving back with a dusty small container. "Humph. Here ya go, can't guarantee how fresh it is, but I'll have it added to the list when I restock. So many tea drinkers...probably a good thing Grumble downs nearly half the hard stuff I have in stock anyways." Valesia spots the elf joining the bar, she scoots her chair over with a smile. "Pull up a chair, Sugar. We don't get many Longyears around Ebria."
  13. Of the Business Class passengers, the Undead seems asleep, the Elf and Amourai are in conversation, and the O'Kor'uk seems to be watching out the window. The latter three at seem to at least know they are there.
  14. One of my favorite Kickstarter purchases.
  15. Zaria and Soren move through the Business car, but still find the door to Engineering locked, a placard overhead reading "Employees Only".
  16. I'm liking this idea of 3 rounds Unstable and the hero "dies" (Player dependent) and continuing to run rounds even if all enemies are defeated to give heroes a chance to get back up. The original design around the idea of getting to keep your acquired CP was more so players didn't feel like they wasted months on a character. They still lose their items (granted items are intentionally not to be as crucial in this iteration of the game as in Heroica Fantasy) and the player can choose to either start over with a new character (but allot all of their saved up CP's) or simply revive their old character just with starting gear. The intention was to find a middle ground where death is still a threat to those who want it to be, and an inconvenience to those who don't want it to be.
  17. Five heroes set out from Heroica Hall just making their transport shuttle to Recivic. The Æthergate voyage to the Vicrar system is unnoteworthy and the team touches down for a momentary layover in the Recivic capital of Jöklofistur before catching a tundra hopper to the frozen town of Vindkoss. The wild wind whips and whirls sending freezing snow into their faces as the group inquire of a few local Cricet for Mervin Softpaw. They are soon directed to the Frozen Flame Tavern. The warm glow of infrared lamps permeates the tavern as a dozen Cricet sit around sipping hot drinks of cocoa, coffee, and mulled wine. A cheery tune plays across the hall as the chatter quiets upon the heroes' entrance, but picks up again as an older graying Cricet approaches the team. "Oh hey there, look at you lot. Stacked to the gills with weaponry, tools, and armor ain't ya? You're either the fiercest and most diverse team of Ivishin mushers we've ever seen, or you be the folks from Heroica, no?" 18. "Hrmph...Why, atmosphere not friendly enough for ya?" Thorvald slides a glass of milk over to Felix as Valesia walks back into the hall. She glances at the mission board before signing her name to Mission 6. "Hmmm, I'd prefer to stay away from colder climates anyways." "Thorvald dear, one Julep please. Extra mint, it'll help clear the smell of that garbage chute from my mouth." She turned to Felix and Varen as she finds a seat at the bar. "Ah, glad to see more successful heroes returning from missions. I take it everything went well?"
  19. Zaria Insight Check (DC 1) - (4, 2, 2) 1 Success Zaria felt the steward was being truthful. “Sorry Sir, which drone was this?”
  20. "I couldn't say Mam, maybe you mistook it for a meteorological storm, the planet has quite a few of those. I'm not aware of any other doors Mam, but I'm just a steward." Zaria Perception Check (DC 1) - (2, 5, 3) 1 Success Zaria inspects the Business car looking up and down the aisle and under the seats much to some of passengers' annoyance, but finds no drone.
  21. Chosen Heroes for Mission #5: Slay RideAysu (Peppermint M)Ronin (Yzalirk) Decker DaCabe (Endgame) Polaris (samurai-turtle) Enson (Duvors) Please report for shuttle departure to Recivic in 24hrs.
  22. MM Note: Sorry, I don't know how I missed this. "It's a hover train Mam, no thrusters. It's propelled through the use of Qavoron crystals."
  23. So increasing your Long Range Weapon Proficiency from 2 → 3 would actually cost 3 Character Points. Cost is equal to the level you are raising the Proficiency to.
