  1. "They could cancel the contract and pursue legal action against both White Knight and your organization for starters. The fact that we sent Agent Lars, a psychic sensitive Thudaal, to guard the warehouse containing a psychically active threat is an unfortunate coincidence. Their research as far as I'm aware of, though disturbing, is technically not illegal..."
  2. "Hmph, a lot of activity it seems. Can I get you a drink Soren? A drink helps to calm the journey and make it more pleasant or at least that's what my Dwarven traveling companion tells me. Between you and me, I think he's been drinking a little too much lately, claims to be hearing voices."
  3. Yeah the same could be said for the Protector's "Shield Bash" action, as simply shoving your opponent is a thing.
  4. I'm loving the angrier Bers gets the less intelligible he becomes. Pretty soon it feels like he'll be shouting binary code at his target.
  5. MM Note: Just as a note, while Yelana is able to access doors via her checks, she wouldn't be able to create a key for another person to use without finding resources to create the key. Saying "I pull an orange pyramid out of my backpack that works as a key" is equivalent to saying, "I pull an an orange pyramid out of my backpack that works as a weapon". It's creating a mechanical advantage, in this instance an extremely low DC that someone else can use, without spending the necessary resources to create the advantage. MM Note: If you still want to interact with Zaria to avoid the key issue mentioned above, feel free to ignore this bit. Yelana Coding Proficiency (DC 1) - (1, 2, 4) 1 Success Yelana passes through the remaining cars not seeing any other drones and fairly sure no one else had spotted one. She hacks into the final door's security system and passes into the baggage car. She finds Abam still tied up and asleep.
  6. MM Note: No problem, figure I’d give it to you if it became needed and let you two figure out the best way to have the scene. I’m good with whatever, feel free to ignore that part. Looking forward to it.
  7. Zaria vs. Yelana Athletics Proficiency Check - (1, 4, 1, 5) 2 Successes vs. (2, 5, 2) 1 Success Yelana finds herself pinned against the wall of the gangway connection, though her body armor keeps her from sustaining any damage. Pausing for a moment between the cars, both heroes can clearly hear not only the sound of the moving train, but a set of thrusters above the train as well.
  8. MM Note: Thanks, I'll let C_S post if how they'd like Yelana to respond, whether as written above or if she would possibly resist.
  9. MM Note: While I like a good intense moment of character development, unless C_S is specifically OK with Yelana being moved that way, I'll need a contested athletics roll for this.
  10. "By no means. Lupin Bio-Tech is our client, any property damage incurred will be expensed. The breach of potentially proprietary information however will be an issue more difficult to navigate. That was a data warehouse, its records are private and not meant to be accessed by non-Lupin employees, including us."
  11. "You're a paranoid fellow, Soren. Whatever it was, I can assure you neither myself nor my colleagues have anything like that on board." Yelana Perception Proficiency Check (DC 1) - (6, 1, 1, 4, +1) 3 Successes Yelana confirms that no-one seems to have been watching them. Yelana Technology Proficiency Check (DC 1) - (5, 3, 6) 2 Successes Yelana is fairly certain the gauntlet is created using a tungsten nickel alloy and while heavy is not unwieldly. Attempting to scan the documents, she finds that they are encrypted with an counterfeit ink completing whiting out any scanned images. Yelana Coding Proficiency Check (DC 1,3) - (6, 5, 4) 3 Successes Reflecting on the key card info obtained earlier, Yelana believes she has enough data to easily access most of the train's doors.
  12. "Yes, Lars has informed me about his suspicions regarding that theory, do you think it holds water? Any evidence they had carried it out?"
  13. Zaria Perception Proficiency Check (DC 1, 3) - (2, 2, 5) Soren Perception Proficiency Check (DC 1, 3) - (5, 3, 4) As Soren and Zaria both relax in their separate cars, they each note a small black drone, no bigger than a mouse dart from the baggage car, through economy, past dining, and then into the business class seating, flattening itself to fit beneath the doors.
  14. Zaria Sleight-of-hand Proficiency Check (DC 1, 3) - (6, 2, 2) 1 Success Zaria is able to get the briefcase open, but upon close inspection she scratches up the lock quite a bit. Inside she finds: Project File Folder: (Quest Item) Details about Project Exousía, focused upon the finding and extraction of a massive energy source on Hovalia, a moon of Aluriel. The source had been identified by M-Tec a few months ago by long range energy scannings. Extraction required tense negotiations with Aluriel governing bodies and an arrangement was made for Aluriel to have access to the technology once M-Tec had figured out how to harness it. The energy source itself is described as a transparent blue cube approximately 8 inches on a side. The cube itself gives off an enormous amount of radiation and requires special equipment for handling it. Initial analysis at the extraction site picked up on a number of exotic frequencies emanating from the cube, photonic, sonic, and arcane. Instructions were made to transport the source to M-Tec's research station on Con'stop for further analysis. Radiation Gauntlet: (Standard Energy Armor)
  15. "That you did. Thank you." The heroes follow a few minutes after Agent Lars. Agent Oddsphere is back behind his desk inspecting another report. "Well, good to see you heroes have returned no worse for wear it seems. And you've brought Agent Lars back as well, so job well done on that front. Close the door will you Agent Lars." Once the heroes are in the office, the Thudaal closes the door with them all inside. "Now then, Agent Lars was telling me about this business with Lupin Bio-tech, sounds like a bit of breaking and entering, property damage, and potential breach of information security. What do you make of it?"
  16. MM Note: To keep things rolling, Kintobor if you want to use the bottle opener I'm ok with that.
  17. "It's a weird link and the effects on things like A.I.'s in Ætherspace are still being studied. Those with extensive Ætherdiving experience are known to be able to consciously affect their appearance in the sphere." Polaris notes that while she feels exhausted, all of her wounds seemed to have remained in Ætherspace.
  18. Earlier versions of the spells all required a proficiency check, but it started not making sense for some of the non-combat spells to simply not work at waste spirit. No need for a higher proficiency to cast higher level spells, you only need the necessary Spirit. Essentially it allows for builds with a low proficiency casting stat, but a high spirit pool to still be useful. You won't necessarily have a lot you can do in combat as the effectiveness of most of those spells is driven by having a higher casting proficiency, but you'll get plenty of mileage out of the non-combat spells. Also, Pulling Point deals damage in addition to moving the target.
  19. The following spells require a Proficiency Check (i.e. a number of successes): Charm Elemental Evocation Entropic Mending Gravity Sink Healing Light Meditate Mystic Binding Restful Sleep Sickening Radiance Solar Flare Sonic Sweep Tongues Velocity Amplification The following spells only require the Proficiency: Alter Form Enhanced Vision Gain Entry Gravimetric Propulsion Illusory Clone Obfuscate Photonic Modulation Purging Font Quantum Transposition Securing Spirit Ally Transmute Matter Warding Bond Most of the latter half are the non-combat spells
  20. So, Evoke Lesser Ally does not have a Proficiency Check, the Spirit is simply summoned for 5 rounds of combat at the cost of 1 Spirit.
  21. The heroes and Agent Lars utter their Push trigger phrases as each of them slip away from the Ætherspace slowly drifting back into the terrestrial sphere, this time with more Ætherdiving Proficiency. Felix Coding Proficiency Check (DC 1): 1, 1, 5, 6, 6 (3 Success, 1 Failures) Varen Coding Proficiency Check (DC 1): 6, 6, 1, 5 (1 Success, 2 Failures) Polaris Coding Proficiency Check (DC 1): 3, 6, 4, 2 (2 Success, 1 Failures) " "Easy does it gents. It takes a minute for the world to stop spinning." The heroes note Agent Lars coming to as well. "Oy, been a while since I've been under that long. Got a cup of coffee Mol? I've got a splitting headache." "Got a cup of coffee? You were in there for nearly two weeks, Lars. It's a good thing you've got a body to come back to at all. I had Oddsphere cater in a 5 course dinner just to make sure you weren't starving, you diving fool. What happened in there?" "Sorry Mol, let me check in with Oddsphere first." "Fine, but them I'm escorting you personally to med bay to get you checked out. Then, dinner." The Thudaal smiled. "Wouldn't have it any other way." "What about the rest of you lot? Doin' ok? Anything you want to share, or will you be straight off to Oddsphere's office with Lars?"
  22. Depends on what you need the spell to do. Quantum Transposition is good for battlefield movement, but doesn't deal damage. Gravity sink deals damage, but isn't as efficient as moving enemies.
  23. "By all means, though I'd imagine the waiters will become perturbed if you don't order anything for the remainder of the journey. My name is Kish Tolouse." MM Note: I realized I made a goof, the train is heading to Con'stop not Parous.
  24. "I heard it too in my head when the creature was speaking to me. It referred to me as the ਠੁੱਡਾਲ." "White Knight, typically tries to vet its security contracts, its one of the reasons I wanted to bring it up with Oddsphere. I'll need to make a full report as well as detail about the damages done as I'm sure Lupin will be furious."
