  1. Docken approaches the first door, but there is no reply to his knocking and the door is locked. Boomingham's enquiry at the second door yields what sounds like a quiet scuffle inside before the door is opened by a shirtless man. "Did I hear someone mention free drinkzzz. Yer not roomservice, what ya want? I'm busy."
  2. "Save the options lad for the moment, we'll be needin' them soon enough I gather though in the future perhaps Luke could benefit from some of yer manuscripts. Thanks fer the reminder." Skrall watched as the dual-swordsman advanced upon him, he was unsure whether he'd get a shot off first but hopefully the distance between them would lessen the impact of the rebel's strike. OoC: I don't think untargetable means invulnerable, correct me if I'm wrong on that Brickdoctor.
  3. "You as well fair maiden, let me know if you decide to go to the tournament and my companion and I will see to it that you are compensated should you find our Raphael." The heroes trek up the creaking stairs. At the top, the Party finds a row of doors, three before them and one behind, marked crudely 1-4 starting at the farthest door. What would the Party like to do?
  4. "My good sir we are inn keepers not lackeys, you are free to visit the gentlemen upstairs. Though you may have to inquire at a few doors as I am unsure which room they took, being as they arrived when the inn was empty. You'll have to knock pretty hard or actually go in to see them, Lucustoids go into a temporary hibernation when they sleep."
  5. Hans is back Must resist urge to look at quest
  6. Skrall watched as the Rebel crossbowman fired off a shot hitting Count Knyghton, "Change of plans Luke, go ahead and patch Count Knyghton up, Master Arthur shall train his attack on the sword bearing rascal." "Very well, hold on Knyghton, Arthur keep that Swordsman busy for me." Luke prepared to heal Count Knyghton from the back row. OoC: I'm assuming Luke heals like a normal sage.
  7. Yeh, I thought it was a chicken leg. Great use of the part though, Brickdoctor, I love it when existing pieces get religated to create new species. Also I just wanted to say that as it concerns the rebel "I shoot it."
  8. I thought there were no clues in the pictures Skrall had noted the strange looking globe earlier but had religated it to a piece of food. "Last time I go mistakin' rebels fer chicken legs," he thought to himself. "Right, Mr. Chevalier and Ms. Toboso hang back for this first round, try and put as much distance between you and the enemy before we can get a counter attack set. Chevalier see if ya can distract that cleaver wielding chap, I doubt he'll be able to get around yer shield. Mr. Luke, I know yer not fer violence and all, but I'd appreciate it if ya'd see to it that that single swordsman was held up fer a little bit." Knowing that he didn't have time to unshoulder his Heavy Crossbow, Skrall quickly drew the Hunter's Crossbow out of its side holster and fired of a bolt at the Rebel Teuthisal Dual-swordsman from the back row. "Shall do Master Skrall, take care lest any should get away and alert the rest of the rebels to our presence." With that Luke set off a light spell from the back row aimed at the Rebel Teuthisal Swordsman's face. Battle Order: Count Knyghton Skrall Alexandre Luke Arthur Isabella Skrall watched as Alexandre came at the Butcher from the front, "Hold back Mr. Chevalier, let us regroup first before we go on the offensive, stick to the back for the moment." OoC: Also Free hits are determined by the listing of the enemy correct, i.e. Crossbowman, then Dual-Swordsman, then Butcher, then Swordsman? Also could you give a refresher on the Pacifist status.
  9. "Well now, good day to ya Lady Leofwena. The mage is right, we were in council with the emperor concernin' tactical particularities. What matters now is that we are here and whatever any of our opinions on the rebels or empires may be, we have a task ahead of us. Tell me mam, how many troops do we have available to us and are any of them skilled in trackin' or forestry?"
  10. "Well met my good nord. I am Brother Silent and this is my companion Igmund and you seem to have met Ms. Irksall. I'm unclear whether they will be having a throwing weapon competition or not, but I do know that there are generally bows and arrows aplenty at such events and you shouldn't have any trouble borrowing a set for the competition. It's being held just outside the northern gate near the barracks of the Town Watch, I believe something was said about it being sponsored by the Hinckwell family. As to a Mr. Szalinski, my companions and I heard mention of that name in our conversations with the Lucustoids earlier, he's some sort of inventor no?"
  11. I guess Skrall and I might get along, I'm not sure what we'd talk about really though. I've written Skrall as someone who I would hope I don't become in the next 25 years, so I guess our conversations would be more of me listening to his reflections on life.
  12. "Very well then, shall we attend to the troops? I think we'll hold off on the fanfare of a dragon rider for the time being, remember the rebels still don't know we're here, hopefully "
  13. Skrall looked on with a slightly impressed expression, "Master Arthur, you continue to amaze me, but I believe what his liege is trying to convey is that we are look after the huntin' down of the rebels not the waitin' for the rebels to come to us. As far as we know, we still have the advantage of surprise and the longer we wait preparin' defenses we may not use, the more chance we have of bein' spotted and losin' our advantage."
  14. "That is the most amazing thing about it my friend, the tournament is being held for 3 straight days and nights, with different competitions going on at any point during the day. I'm sure you or your lovely lady friend might have a chance of winning it, though your other companions are free to enter as well.." "I should have known the old sop would skip town, if he saw any of the collectors hangin' around."
  15. "Mum sent me to see what the old sop was up to. He hadn't sent any gold back in 3 months and things were getting a bit tight and we hadn't heard anything from the collectors either. This inn's one of the only one that lets our race stay indoors, Igmund and Brother Silent were kind enough to buy me dinner. So do you have any idea where I could find him?" Nur perceives a hint of regret but mostly disdain in the ogress's voice.
  16. "Tis great anual archery tournament where all best shots in land supposedly compete for fame and prizes. Anyone is able to enter, but those with a ranger's backround will have an advantage." "You and your companions should look into it, I'm sure such a handsome lass like yourself has had some experience in that realm. Tell you what, you give it a visit and see if you can spot our friend Raphael and check up on him for us. We'll throw in a few special drinks for your trouble while you're at it." "My a king, I'd never thought to see such a noble chap as yourself in here. Just wait till I tell my mate I met a real king. I'll make sure ya get what's your share your majesty." With that the gentleman strolled off into the street. "Nay none of us have any skill with a bow. Raphael may be plannin' on enterin' but he's more of a collector; a Cleric first, a Ranger second. They say there's a good purse to be gained by the winner, not to mention an official "Marksman's Hat"." "I know the old sop, he's my father."
  17. Skrall has on many occasions had stew, duck, or other unmentioned fowl, once in a while a bowl of gruel or porridge, and when he smokes, one thing not many in the hall do.
  18. "Ah yes, we had good talk with locustmen about clerics' healing power earlier. They staying in room upstairs, they come home for evening and sleep till noon generally. Raphael and I talk with them over lunch, before he go out to bow and arrow tournament." "Oh I'd say 50 Gold would do me fine. What was you're name by the way sir knight?"
  19. "Not much to tell, I think they come from across the sea from some desert land. If you'd seen one ya wouldn't have forgotten it, they're like giant locusts they are, always twitchin' and clickin', it gives me the willigers. I've heard they're known to skin a grown man alive and feast upon it like a crepe. Hey you seem like a reasonable chap, ya think you could lend me enough to stay in one of those fancier if hopefully safer inns up the street? I'd pay ya back, I've got a friend comin' in on a ship tomorrow from a venture that he's cuttin' me in on. Just tell me where and when and I'll get you the gold."
  20. Skrall mentioned aside to Arthur, "We'll talk once we're on the trainin' fields."
  21. "Why yes I do my good sirs, mam. They have been staying with us these past six days. Are you in need of lodging for the evening? My brother Billian and I would be more than happy to put you up in one of the rooms, our rates may be cheap but our service is grand." "Roland Ergthew, sailor by trade currently mendin' from an old sea mauling and this place be the only one cheap enough to put me up. Horrible place though, orcs, ogres, they don't even deserve to be indoors much less sleeping around civilized beings. If your talking about the expo, I've seen the posters all over town that were advertisin' the event. Rumor has it some of those fancy pancy scientists are stayin' in this very inn, makes sense if their Lucustoids." "Good evening to you and your companions, I would indeed enjoy a drink, but please allow me to buy one for such a beautiful flower as yourself." The elf gave a charming grin quickly returning with two chalices of wine. "Allow me to introduce myself and the rest of the table. I am Brother Silent, elven monk on a journey from Dastan, my companion the half-troll" Brother Silent indicated the half-troll in the cloak, "is Igmund a shaman from that area as well. Igmund and I are journeying to Ennon with our friend Raphael the halfling druid, you haven't happened to see the tiny chap have you?" Brother Silent took a sip from his wine before stopping abruptly, "Oh where are my manners, this rose of an ogress is Irksall, she just arrived this morning from Ennon. Now what brings you and your companions here, looking for lodgings are you?"
  22. "Also, my contacts in Eurbic informed me of some uprising of a Cult of the Chimera, are you aware of it?"
  23. Skrall inclined his head to the emperor, "Good evening my liege, we are grateful fer yer assistance in helping to restrain the foolish advances of these idealists. Can ya tell us how long the rebels have had an established presence in the land, do ya know of any of their capabilities, magic users, siege weaponry, beasts whether common or fantastic? Do ya know of their where abouts whether they are in a temporary lodging or have set up fortifications?
  24. The Party heads for the Inn of the winking Gargoyle. They arrive outside the inn which sits right across from the Eubrician cemetery. The building is somewhat dilapidated and the door is adorned with a grotesque statue of a squinting stone beast. It becomes apparent that the inn has been reserved for those visitors of Eubric not belonging to what some may term the majority races. Upon entering the inn, the Party is hailed by a pair of werehounds in professional attire, one working behind the bar and one serving a group of guests across the hall. What would the Party like to do?
  25. Masked Builder's Alexis has a quiver which imparts a permanent hastened effect, likewise with William Harkenshires repeating crossbow. I'm sure the items have been considered, the QM's just don't want too many of them floating around as they could easily upset the balance of the game.
