Skrall shook the outreached hand. "I'll gladly take ya up on that offer. Two fights in a row and I'm parched."

Heroica RPG - Quest #54: Taking Out the Laundry
Waterbrick Down replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Because of this..." Spinnestus tosses the cloak gently to Boomingham. Padded Cloak - A finely tailored cloak of soft material weighing a considerable amount.(Quest Item) The paladin takes a few steps back as he is weighed down by the sheer weight of the cloak. Upon further inspection Boomingham notes the gleam of gold bars sewn into the hem of the cloak. "That, that's why I've been so nervous. There's nearly 7000 coins worth of gold in there. Now you see why I'm afraid, if I put up an advertisement saying "Missing cloak worth 7000 Gold" there's no way of telling what riffraff it might attract to my door-step looking for an easy picking. I've been scared to even go out my door, frightened that there might be someone who knows, someone who wouldn't think twice about killing me for this cloak." -
Heroica RPG - Quest #54: Taking Out the Laundry

QM Note: Volcanic, you can only equip 2 items between levels 10-19. The timid man answers Boomingham. "Yes, yes. I am Spinnetus, please, please come in." The man ushered the small group into the room. The room was dark, an unlit candel stood to one side behind a small desk. A narrow cot sat next to an oaken trunk. The priest picked up a black cloak from the bed. "Thank you for coming, as I mentioned in the advertisement I need your help finding a cloak very similar to this one. I had my cloak repaired at Swisshopper's, one of the local tailors, after it was returned to me the other day I discovered they had given me the wrong cloak." -
Yes I am a vanilla, I still have my lunch though. Honestly I wish I could provide more insight, I've passed most of my concrete thoughts on to the hedgehog and the rest is down to gut feelings. I would like to combat the assumption that the probability of a blocking and a protection are the same however. I think we all have to admit we metagame to some extent, it's merely part of our nature. That being said a block made early on is generally metagame-free as people's jobs are selected at random, a protection however is far from that. Protections are based upon metagaming whom the scum would want to take out first. I.e. do they go for the highly experienced analytical individuals who are likely to be the target of quite a few actions, or do they protect one of the lesser known personages as they are likely to be undisturbed by other people during the night. The protector has to get into the mind of the scum and figure out who would make the best target, a decision governed more by reason and postulation than a random shot in the dark and thus more likely to succeed. That is what I hope and for the moment can only contemplate happened last night. But I understand you need to cover your bases and if my death grants more confidence in the person that was protected last night than so be it. Looking at the rest of the conversation that has gone on since I had to leave yestereday, Katie and Dave stick out the most to me, mainly Katie for playing the confusion card and Dave for his defensive/aggressive attitude, both of which I was definitely not expecting (based mainly upon metagaming reasons).

Well not much to be said really. I guess it's pretty much a 50/50 chance from most people's perspective. Putting aside the possibility of conversion and the idea that the day-killer is scum aligned, which unless they are trying to blend in and appear be working with the town I doubt (not to mention that unless we had some day actions it would be pretty unbalanced), either there was a successful block or a successful protection. Now obviously I know that it had to be a successful protection as I don't have any action for someone to block, so I'd suggest that whomever was protected last night should be considered at least slightly more trust-worthy. Aside from the town losing some of its number advantage, you don't have to worry about me, but I'd much prefer to keep on my merry way collecting observations and assembling them until we have a better picture of our situation further on down the road. Addressing some of the potential other concerns, my 1 statement of summarizing when I first awoke here I believe I disuaged as agreement with the theories presented at the time. My lie-detector plan actually does work on paper operating under the assumption whether the individual does or doesn't know they are telling the truth, but that ship seems to have sailed. Finally I believe all hedgehogs have their rightful place in this world... deep fried and right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy. Yesterday to be specific, mainly over the issue between Daisy and Trisha at the time. The discussion between yourself, Daisy, and Fred, went back and forth with neither party really taking the time to listen to each other and often repeating themselves, Fred and Daisy being the main perpetrators. Not saying muddying is bad, just a lot of back and forth that never really got anywhere due to the fact that the main points of the arguments never really changed, only the words they were using to lob insults at each other.
-
I was honestly convinced about being able to lie-detector our way out of this mess and you should know that I'm more than willing to try solving these puzzles in more outside the box ways. As to summerizing, if agreeing is summerizing then you caught me and a dozen other people red-handed. This is what I took as her deny the watcher role or any for that matter.Occupations/Job/Role-in-this-entire-affair, i.e. something distinctly different from a "lunch". Could you clarify on your conclusions question? Almost all of us are in the dark, so hard set conclusions are difficult to make, however as time goes on and conversations progress we are able to cement our understanding and move forward.

Good morning everyone, or is it midday. Sorry I've been slaving away in the stables. So many things to comment on. Good picks with the blocks/protections whatever to the respective persons (conversion theory aside due to a lack of probability). As for the day kill, as has already been said we'll have to wait and see. I personally think all are options are likely: day-vig, possible but I wonder why they would have chosen to use their power without very much evidence, though we have had instances of compulsive vigilantes before; serial killer, another possible option though this would probably mean they are immune to tracking/watching (unsettling) unless we have people that can do that during the day as well along with hopefully a day-protector; skum killer, possible as we've heard about a day-poisoner as well as someone carrying around an antidote in the past. I guess time will tell, though I'd prefer not to go so quickly. Trisha is indeed a loss, as is every townie that turns up dead. It was a hard way, to put to rest some of the confusion surrounding her, but I think we can and have pull/pulled out some semblence of reason from her ravings the other day. Daisy and Fred seemed to have quieted down at long last, but I believe we have learned some valuable information from it. I've still got my lunch and can at least give credence to Daisy's claim, so it would seem that are a limited number of "types" of lunches that we have at our disposal. As to the glasses, I also have a hard time believing that these clues would give a hint to someone's affiliation and from the wording of the particular lunch in question I think it has something to do more with occupation. That being said, there's not alot of conclusions that can be drawn aside from those already stated. Daisy's denying the watcher roles and is even claiming to have no action, that doesn't leave us with very many other options.

A messenger in black robes appears in the entryway of Heroica Hall. After surveying the list of names on the sign-up sheet for Quest 54 he calls out. "Could I please have a Lord Lawrence Boomingham (Zepher), Ms. Elliara Arbour (Sandy), and Mr. William Harkenshire (VolcanicPanik) report to the Cathedral of Commerce within one day's time. Thank you." With that the messenger proceeded back outside heading towards the cathedral.

The MOC's already done for it, Scorpiox is just waiting on a few more bio's from certain individuals who will remain unmentioned.

Sort of stuck in the same boat with Skrall. Regulator will depend on how the role-playing of 53 turns out, other than that none of the other classes really feel right for him or the reputation for it is probably not likely, so he'll probably stay as a Hunter.

It's a fungoid of course , here's another one: Fungoids are one of the three original sentient races inhabiting the underground along with the Goblins and Fledermaun before the Dwarves moved in. I also wanted to comment on your quest Pie, it was really enjoyable to watch and it was a case of great players paired with a great QM. The battles were good and I agree that the inclusion of partial effect immunities is an excellent idea. I don't blame you about the drops, since you probably didn't intend for the players to obtain every single one of them. I actually thinks it's a good strategy even though it risks the Party missing all of the drops or obtaining all of them. The NPC's were memorable and I look forward to seeing some of them soon. The plot and mystery were well contained and kept the party going in the right direction which can be hard to do without resorting to railroading. Overall you did an excellent job for your first outing as a QM and I can't wait to see what you'll deliver next.

Figured I'd put up another teaser shot for the trilogy in progress. These longer plots are definitely more time consuming, I do not envy you Zepher.

It's your defense stat. SP (Shielding Power), it basically decreases the power of an incoming attack. i.e. if you were to take damage it would be = Your Health-(Enemy Level -SP) Edit: Oh dear. "Hey fishy ladies..." Now to get to work on the next hit single "The Fields of Glory" by Lady Baba.

Being the opposite is fine, most rogues tend towards that mischevious, back-stabbing, turn-coat. The trick is finding something that makes him lovable though. If all your character talks about is hating people and being upset or angry, most people will eventually start skipping over his statements in thread because there is nothing that appeals to them or keeps them interested. I would seriously suggest reading some of Boomingham's statements whether in the hall topic or in his respective quests. Boomingham can be just as unsettling/rude as Sarge sometimes, but if you read closer, Zepher has included glimpses into the Paladin's personality that personally make me smile/laugh/and always willing to read his entire post. As far as making Sarge a zombie, don't rush things and try to steer away from cliche if you can help it. If we know how it's going to end or how he's going to respond then what's the point in reading it?

Skrall noted the Tricorne fall to one side of the Arena, he quickly cut loose a small purse of 93 Gold from his side and tossed it up to the watching Benji. "It would seem that way."
-
Skrall commented from the Arena as he waved his greatsword in a figure eight fashion back and forth, "Yes I believe I remember hearin' somethin' like 92 and a 1/2 gold? Why don't we round her to 93 and call it a deal?"
-
Dansmith, while I appreciate you trying to get to the bottom of this, even I have my limits when it comes to giving someone the benefit of the doubt and after listening to everything being spewed about, it seems to me that things have gone from bad to worse for Trisha and I'd rather not be left guessing about loose ends in the upcoming days. Vote: Trisha (TrumpetKing67)

Skrall nodded at Everyman, "Good to meet ya. Wren's after becomin' a god eh? Doesn't surprise me, she always did seem a few pumpkins short of a patch." Taking advantage of the metasimian's distraction Skrall drew his greatsword and advanced from the front row.
-
OoC: Hunter's Quiver +2. Skrall shakes his hand, the slice from the Metasimian's saber was painful but not to hindering. Holstering his Hunter's Crossbow, Skrall grabbed his Heavy one and launched a larger bolt from the back row. "Still too close for comfort," he muttered.
-
No you are correct, it was during the time warp that that all happened which is why I missed it. Thank you for the clarification and yes I will vote when I feel when I am more convinced of one of these cases. I still would like more clarification as to why Trisha believed that Fred was giving her a lie detector and yet continued to claim as though she had one herself.

Yep, go ahead.
