OoC: I take it we're assuming Alexis attacks the bear? Skrall handed out the loot. "Well we would have had a picnic, but Hoke didn't leave much grass to spread the blanket on, though I can say I am partial to roasted teddie bear. Perhaps we should try the meadow? We might have better luck there. We'll take a short stop for the moment make sure everyone's up for a little hike first though." Skrall made his way over to deliver Stigveladi's portion of the loot, "Thank ya fer yer willingness to chip in to the fight at the end, I appreciate folks who don't stop till the job is finished. I take it yer not from Uland?" Loot Division: Namyrra: Smoke Bomb, Potion Skrall: Venom, Alexis: Venom, Smoke Bomb Nur: Potion, Venom Hoke: Nostrum, Smoke Bomb, Venom Amma: Venom, Remedy, Nostrum -

"Ah the silent one speaks. What is it with all these bare-chested barbarian riddle solvers? Next question: From the people of blue to those who are pale and live in ever-present delight. To the string of the ocean near the howling black beasts to the place where arch mages did fight. Then away to the land of the unblinking three, then to him who does not but destroy. A short stop in the place with the kindred of him who the noble Hall once did employ. I made my way twixt the high and the low and skirted that heaven bodied place. To a land full of sorrow and bitterest tears and those with sand for a face. Where am I?" -

"Hoke, I'm goin' let that first healer break on yer shield. Alexis, Namyrra go ahead and finish off your targets. The rest of you can chose to sit back and watch the show if you wish, just leave the first healer alone." Skrall honed in on the second Bugbear Healer tactics, after the fight with the chaos beasts and the goddess Wren herself, there was definitely no resemblance in fighting styles. As expected the little fuzzy imp was much more beastial and reckless in its attacks, leaving nothing behind as it lashed in vain at the heroes. Jamming another bolt into the crossbow Skrall marked the healers movements and fired from the back row. OoC: In clase it isn't clear, Skrall is favoring beasts and dropping his favoring of goddesses. "Right then let's have at it. If your companions want to jump in, let 'em. The more the merrier, I don't expect you all will be much trouble though." The gargoyle clears his throat. "First riddle: The wetter I become, the dryer you are. What am I?" -

"It was quite the interesting read mind you Ms. Nerwen, however my affinities lie more with lighter pieces of literature. Though it can't be denied that Smeal's work is highly rated amongst certain segments of the public, it is one of my lesser favorites in my collection." The werelizard handed the contract to Dyric. "I'd be most grateful if you'd see to it that Mr. Greely received this. Also, seein' as how I owe you such gratitude for saving me from the peril of bankruptcy, please go ahead and take that Diamond Jinn up on the mantel as a token of my thanks." -

Cynthia took the book from the shelf and scanned through the pages, finally pulling a small manuscript from the book. "Ah here it is." The heroes inspect the document, and after a few blushes determine its contents seem to be legally binding. -

Cynthia thumbed through the pages of the book. "I'm afraid not and by tome I just mean any ol' book dearie, nothing special. Let me see, if I recall correctly the title of the book definitely had the letter 'a' in it and it had to be longer than two words. I'm sure the author's last, middle, or first name started with a vowel, and I'll be befuddled if the author wasn't a woman." It is a intriguing tale about a young boy and an old orc, who has been adopted by the local community. The orc eventually shares one of his deepest darkest secrets with the boy and asks him for an unexpected favor. The boy isn't sure whether it is right or wrong to fulfill his friend's request and is faced with discerning the morality of the entire situation. No problem. -

Teresa responded in kind to Nerwen. "Mae l'ovannen! Indeed it is. I have been a friend of Cynthia's for nearly 2 years. As a representative from the Eubric Embassy, I try to make it my duty to know as many of the members of this great city as possible. Cynthia and I met during the open house jubilee 2 years ago. I know that Cynthia and Xavior were on the best of turns and that they kept each other company many an evening. Aside from that I was never aware of such a document." Cynthia turned to the lamp. "Perhaps, it was a gift from a friend. But as you must know Jinns once summoned may only be used for service once and then they must be set free. If we can't locate it, I may have to use it after all." Xander wanders over to the bookcase where he sees many titles. Top Shelf: MEAD BEACH, by Roba Norerts. Let me see, well I remember that the book was either directly above, below, or next to either one of the black, orange, or dark gray bound tombs. And there was definitely more than one book of the same color, but there weren't any other books with the same color on it's shelf. Oh I remember that it definitely wasn't a heavy book. Does that help you get anywhere?" -

The werelizard smiles coyly. "Let's just say Xavior and I had an agreement of an intimate nature. I'm sure if we could find the contract it would straighten the whole matter out though." -

The werelizard gave a toothy smile to Cronk. "You are quite welcome young man, that brewing technique has been in my family for generations. Crushed Bittle-bog nettles are the secret, I can give you a tin if you're interested." Miss Cynthia took a sip of her tea, before continuing on. "You know I used to have a wolpertinger for a pet as a little girl, we called him Louis V because he looked like a Louis. I haven't seen one wandering around the inn though, but then again I don't make it out much anymore. Darling Teresa is the only real company I get anymore since Xavior died." Cynthia turned to Dyric, "I just can't imagine he kind old Xavior didn't leave something. I think I still have a copy of the contract somewhere, but I haven't looked at it for nearly 30 years. I don't even know if I could remember where I placed it." -

"Mr. Hinckwell?... Oh yes, he's the dapper gentleman that took over the Waltzing Dragon when my dear Xavior passed on. 'Twas a depressing affair that was, nearly broke my heart with grief it did. Of course, I'm sure dear Xander left a letter or sorts concerning our mutual 'understanding' though, didn't he?" -
I can see this being true for other locations, but Eubric is sort of the melting pot of species, which is why we see so much diversity. I would expect other lands like Dastan or Terra Chima to be more limmited as far as representing species.

"I happen to pay my rent on the dime my good sir, however as I am not a tenant of this inn I doubt you would be interested in that. I'm sure Cynthia would be willing to take that question up with you though. Please come in." The Elf leads the party inside as an aged werelizard slowly rises from her armchair by the fireplace. "Well I declare! I ain't had such a gaggle of handsome looking boys in my living room in nearly a decade. Sit down, sit down, and let me get you some tea." The heroes find themselves quickly seated in armchairs, assorted stools, and a random piano bench, warm tea being poured into cups for them by the smiling scaly woman. "It's been an age since I had a proper social call, what can I do for you? "Cynthia, they're here to ask about the..." "Hush good Teresa, I'm sure the gentlemen can speak for themselves." -

The party knocks upon the door and are greeted cheerfully by an elven lady. "Why hello there, aren't you such a nice bunch knocking and all that, seems like all people do these days is just barge through peoples' doors without a bit of common courtesy."
