  1. Salt Lake City is also my closest store. I hit them up this weekend and was not totally impressed. Ill give them the benefit of being new. The PaB wall was odd... A whole ton of 2x4 blocks in pastels. Flowers but no stems, window panes but no windows. I did get some stuff but not like I do in older stores. Mostly some black wedges and inverters for roofing. As a side note the employees also seemed odd. And I guess it is the newness factor. They have employees who wanted jobs instead of people who specifically wanted to work at a Lego like I see at older stores. I'm sure this will change over the coming months. Also, if you go and want something you don't see.... Ask, because they didn't seem to be restocking very much. Oh, and as the other person said.. The minifig station was pretty cool.
  2. Have a project going which is a two level. I'd like to have a few lights on the lower level... A cave-like structure. I think I would like to put them behind some trans pieces to make a torch glow. None of that's what I'm asking about. What elements does Lego have for small lights? I assume there is a battery block of some sort. I'd like to do two or three lights... And the kicker is... I'm hoping to have them lit up for a week or so, essentially nonstop. Ideas would be appreciated.
  3. They can look you up either by email or Lego I'd number. I have shopped all over and have never had my card.
  4. Nothing is free. I'm happy only paying 20% of my income in taxes. More money for Lego.
  5. Or, we could start a new thread, and everyone post where they know Lego shops are. Someone ambitous could then edit the first post with a list by state, and then sticky it.
  6. In the last 10 days or so I have purchased EIGHT 9741 Uruk hai army for $5.00 each. and I'm hoping the store keeps ordering more for me to buy. Because I can't think of any good reason not to buy more!
  7. You are fantastic. Going off that I can put them back together and then maybe ill post another picture of what's left over. Thanks a ton.
  8. Ok, so i bought a bunch of Star Wars Lego sets/ships. They didnt have instructions. The person mails them too me. And when they arrive they have been totally dissasembled into one box. All mixed together. All I have to go on is the original picture from the listing. Which isnt very good. Hoping all of you Star Wars Lego Savants can Id them for me so i can get some instructions online and start the chaos. (Also got Castle theme too but those are my specialty and I know them all by heart.) Picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/95613874@N06/ Thanks In advance.
  9. Been scouting Walmart for a couple weeks since I noticed they had labeled the spot where 9471 Uruk-hai Army went for $5.00. I was pretty much sure someone had screwed up, but I figured I'd watch it anyway. Spot stayed empty for a couple weeks and I figured it was the spot the castle line would go in. Today they had four sets in the spot so I had someone price check it... Yuo five buck. So I bought all four. 24 minifigs and four horses for twenty bucks. Yay! (Then again I have no idea what I'll do with them)
  10. Yeah.. I'd say there is a difference in most unique uses, and most total pieces produced. The later might be hard to get concrete info on.
  11. I got the promo stuff today. I ordered a couple of key chains with the b-wing so I got them today. The b-wing is due tomorrow. Nobody else I saw has mentioned the series 10 promo paper is also a postcard size Mr Gold sticker. Kinda neat. Also not sure what I'm doing with the chima set, but I never turn down free LEGO.
  12. I also think this is pretty cool in micro scale. My only issue... The stairs are two studs wide... While the houses and ships are a single. Otherwise.. Makes me want to play with micro scale.
  13. Many places in the US do soft openings. The intention of a soft opening is not to sell things per se, but to instead train your staff how to operate. In food service the soft opening is usually not public but can be sometimes. Guests are invited and then the staff does their thing allowing you to troubleshoot. You don't want your grand opening to be a fiasco.
  14. Yeah, that's the spot I found... But the section down a bit says.... "These are special tags" but doesn't go on the say what they mean. Was just curious if there was another spot with more info on them. I do see that some of them are listed there though.
  15. You have two flag looking things.... I found the post where it says what they are.... But I can't find anywhere that says what they actually mean.
  16. Can someone point me in the direction where I might find the meanings of the icons various people have by their names? <---------------the ones over here below the info. Thanks.
  17. I hate it when I'm free building and somehow it seems like I manage to drop about every tenth small piece on the floor and it always seems to bounce clear to the other end of the table. Otherwise a day skipping work to build is thumbs up!
  18. I also like the odd promotion and sale. I think if you are going to look at the resale on the B-Wing y have to factor a number of things. Some were bought to sell for parts. So went out to people who will keep them. So the remainder to the secondary market. At least on the short term (45 days last time I looked at S@H) it's not available. That makes it a decent sale on eBay at $150 right now. So, 45 days from now it's back on S@H again...for $200, still a good deal second hand at $150 if you want it. Factor in that it got a whole bunch of attention on all the lego and Star Wars forums, i think it might actually increase desire for it somewhat. That said, they did hurt X-Wing sales for its release.
  19. http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=TRU03-1 And http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=WISHINGWELL-1 Were the two I have so far this year. Both TRU. Since I collect neither Star Wars or friends I was unsure if I should just toss them in the parts bin or if I should try to find them a home. (Sorry to link to brickset, not sure if that's allowed or not)
  20. Since this thread rose from the dead... All the logic from the above posts can be invalidated by a single line. There is no LEGO store in Las Vegas. There is not a single location in the entire US more suited to this kind of store. The sheer volume of visitors, and diversity in said visitors makes it the ideal. Foreign visitors, people on trips to take stuff home to their kids...and above all...MONEY. Tons and tons of money in and out of VEgas. There is even a huge open space between the M&M store and the Coke store... Anyone from LEGO out there listening? If only you get get a franchise, I'd so mortgage my house to do it there.
  21. They don't come in a poly bag but they DO come with an actual instruction page that's from LEGO. The one from TRU yesterday has a single two sided glossy page for a Jek-14 stealth fighter. 40 pieces.
  22. Are these official sets as in numbered an all that. We got the one at Easter... A friends thingy.. And then again today the Star Wars mini thing. If you have done them before.. They are all just pieces in a box and you walk down the line and collect the pieces and put them in a bag yourself. I just threw them in my "no idea what do do with this box" but I thought I would seek the wisdom of the fellows here to see how people thought of them.
  23. Will be interesting to see how many of our orders get canceled on us.
  24. I did this as a MOC. I dumped all my light and dark grey bricks the floor in a pile and tossed in a few minis. Poof all done.
  25. A buck naked Daenerys minifig... Err. I don't think they would ever go near GoT. It's just TOO adult of content.
