Eurobricks event 2020 Billund accomodation topic
Seasider replied to Holodoc's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Don't mind either option of Legoland or Lalandia as they're both next to each other. I'm a newbie to Eurobricks events so I don't want to be "room responsible" I would ideally like to be in a chalet/cabin with people who have good english -
Eurobricks event 2020 Billund information topic
Seasider replied to Holodoc's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Hi, As a first time attendee and waiting for it to be in Billund to have the great links with TLG I have be honest and say I'm disappointed. However I'm sure whatever ideas we all come up with will be great, but part of me is in 2 minds as the TLG tie up was a big bonus to me. I was looking at this as an excuse to go back to Lego House, having been there on my own back in 2018. I hope you still hold the build contest that I've seen for previous years meets. Now I just need to book the time off work, find some flghts (tonight) and officially respond in the Accomodation thread. Oh I agree 267 Euros is a bit steep for what they're offering. I assume nothing will happen to the timing of the event and it'll still be the Saturday arrive and Wednesday depart ? also asking a stupid newbie question do the tickets for Lego house and legoland get centrally organised for the group? Been talking to the boss at home and I’m not sure what I’m doing now. Very disappointed with TLG news and this was a big sell to me. Wondering if I spend my money elsewhere this year. Need a few days to decide what I’m doing -
Technic 2020 Set Discussion

So a Lambo for the next UCS car? The Sian would be a good bet, but perhaps a well known one in the form of a Contach or a Miura ? -
Technic 2020 Set Discussion
Seasider replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I thought the Fast and Furious car was a Creator car in the same line as the Mustang where you can make a standard car or a modified one. I don’t think it’s Technic apart from the odd parts in the chassis. I’m hoping for a good third car in the evolution of the UCS cars -
[TC17] Mad Nomad - Finished

I like it and think you should keep it as an entry. I think some are more detailed than others with lots of System add ons but some are still highly Technic -

[TC17] Taxidermy
Seasider replied to Seasider's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Mini update from me. Only had the odd hour here and there over the last week but managed to get a couple of hours in today and this is where I am. so as you’ll see the majority of the Taxi part is done, at least in terms of shape. The I started on the rear platform. Next challenge will be doors and rear suspension. Don’t think I’ll get anything done in the next week as I’m on a course for the week and next weekend it’s the better half’s birthday and we’re away. -

I think this classes as going here. Does anyone know what angle to rotate a Technic Engine block to in Stud.io (or LDD come to think of it) to get it to fit to a Engine end piece to make a standard V engine? -

Eurobricks event 2020 Billund sign up topic
Seasider replied to Holodoc's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Hi All, It's now mid-Jan and I'm after official confirmation as to how definite the dates are so I can think about booking flights and also time off work. I don't want to go spending ~£200 on flights only to find the dates have shifted but also I don't want to leave it too long before all my flight options go. Thanks Seasider/Ian -
LEGO Creator 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Isn’t there a rumoured F&F Charger for the Creator series. A bit like the Mustang with a mod pack but also with a licence like the Bond Aston -
[TC17] Taxidermy
Seasider replied to Seasider's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So time for an update as it’s a week on. I haven’t got as far as a lot of people but then I haven’t had much time to work on this as things have been busy at work. I was having trouble with working freehand to get the shapes right so I’ve gone full scale modelling and from a print out of a set of blueprints and a good old fashioned ruler (or rule for some) I’ve started again but this time in Stud.io. So I’m hoping to build this model in stages. Get a body to look (at least a bit) like the Taxi. Then work out how to get the drive train inside. Then start Mad-Maxing it by putting the suspension on. Then doing some Max-mods. So what do you think so far? Nothing is joined together yet, I haven’t worked out if/how to make the doors openable. And I’m not happy with the amount of half height beams for the rear quarter panel. -
Finished already ! I’ve not really started. Your model looks good though. if you’re on an apple device I use Splice to make my videos it’s a very simple editor. I think it’s free from the AppStore

If you go on YouTube and search for Mad Max Fury Road that should show you some in the trailer from the recent film. Or search Mad Max PlayStation vehicles again on YouTube and that will show cars from the computer game. the vehicles are odd ... some are multiple vehicles joined together, some have massive engines and wheels, some are covered in spikes sorry for not finding the links I’m still at my desk in work

Hi all, Here’s the WIP thread for my entry - currently titled “Taxidermy” I’m a big fan of all the films (originals and the recent Fury Road) and also the PS/Xbox game so all these combined are the source for my inspiration. So I thought if I was going to survive the wasteland what vehicle is common enough for scrap parts but also durable. As I’m a Brit and originally from the South not too far from London I had the perfect answer ... a Taxi or a Black Cab. Specifically I’m going to try and model it on the older FX4 Taxi but it’ll only be a guide as I’m not a skilled modeller. The Taxi will of course end up being modified ... a V8 for starters. It’ll run using Sbrick, I’m not sure either 2 M or XL motors for power. Work today was around getting the overall proportions of the vehicle. So I can then start working on chassis. I’m moderately happy with what I’ve got so far.
