  1. As to the new parts on the Lambo, as I’ve mentioned in the Lambo thread we already knew a tapered curved panel was coming so seeing them on the frunk shouldn’t be a surprise. I think they were mentioned for the Bell Osprey. Also I think the new rotor blades used along the side of the car (sill finishers as they’re called) are from the Osprey too. that means the only new parts for the Lambo would be the wheel rims and the Wheel Arch piece. Easily achieved on a new set especially one like this
  2. I think the front splitter may be just wider than 15studs which means the car is too wide as I’d class this as part of the body width
  3. I don’t think a HOG is compatible with this series especially with the new 18+ tag. if you look at the series so far it’s about the building experience to create a large display model. The build is even done to create the model with key stages (joining the engine to the cabin on the Chiron). so I don’t think a HOG fits with this theme as it’s not meant to be “playable” it’s meant to be “representative” and if they did try to squeeze a removable HOG in I think you’d have to compromise somewhere to get it in.
  4. I still don’t think it’ll have that as the other 2 don’t. Still too much of a “play” feature in my opinion
  5. @SNIPE why would the Lambo have HOG steering? The Porsche and Bugatti didn’t as they’re Adult models and not kids playthings. Also I don’t think they’ll introduce any electrics into these as the price would go through the roof.
  6. Yes I think the rotor blade is new, the part you can see with the 3 pin holes is different to the large blade that has the black rubber end. So I think this is the new slightly shorter rotor for the Bell Osprey
  7. @agrof - yes I think the colourful chassis (colour vomit) we get is TLGs version of poka yoke. In my engineering world there are lots of Lego models across peoples desks (star wars microfighters and speed champions being most popular) and those who do the larger sets still say some of them are complex so appreciate the very clear instructions.
  8. @Gray Gear - yes I am. Although when I build MOCs and TCxx entries I try to eliminate the colour vomit as much as possible, I also understand why TLG would use it on a set they sell. It helps a massive amount in terms of a build for referring between the image in the instructions and the model in front of you. If you’ve got poor spacial awareness trying to build a vehicle with a single colour chassis would be a lot harder and make the experience less enjoyable. Just look at any of the threads on the big TLG sets and look at how people on here who are used to building complex models are still asking for clarification and problem finding on a build. This would surely increase if it was a single colour. @agrof - love the new term ?
  9. So I’ve been thinking over night, as you do. We have (at least) 5 new parts ... wheel rim, rotor blade, curved panel with taper left, curved panel with taper right, wheel arch with curved top. Which is a good thing in my mind, some of these I thought we already had the rumour of being on the osprey (tapered panels and I assume the rotor blades) so that would have minimised the cost on this. The box looks the same type as the previous 2 cars, lift off lid, so I would assume a similar layout of smaller boxes inside for the build stages, hopefully with graphics similar to the Bugatti box. The box now has the 18+ rating that has appeared on a few sets this year. but if people think 18+ means no colour vomit on the chassis I think they’re in for a nasty surprise. Why? Well the SW Helmets have a colour vomit interior, and just think how difficult the instructions would be to follow if the chassis was just black or LBG? Also think of the sheer number of parts in new colours that TLG would have to do, it would be a I'm really liking the set, sure a few bits could be better but then this is Technic and getting complex shapes with sharp details to work is very difficult. As to the colour, a bright lime green is perfectly in keeping with Lamborghini, they are about being bold. I’m glad it’s not Defender green as I think the model wouldn’t look as good. It’s a shame they didn’t resurrect the metallic green but that’s not a surprise and at least with this we can add to the lime green collection. as to a Red Scania ... we have a Ducati in Red this year too, so that colour for a VW Group vehicle has been used ?
  10. Or a photo of the other side of the box as this looks like the bottom to me
  11. I think it’s actually a new rotor blade as where the pin holes are looks different to the current rubber tipped one. So I’m guessing it’s new, possibly shorter in length and I guess used on the Osprey too
  12. So that looks like the bottom of the box, looking at the edges. looks similar style to our previous boxes with a lift off lid, but he’s the 18+ logo has appeared like the UCS and Helmets for SW. so a new arch piece (but thankfully more useable than the MK part), the new tapered panels we heard about on the frunk (I think these were rumoured for the Osprey too) and coloured helicopter rotor blades for the sill finishers. Im sold !
  13. @Technicallism - no I haven’t seen the Lamborghini box yet, I don’t work at Lego or Lamborghini. But I would say you’re speculating just as much as me ... but this is the speculation thread ? The article you linked is referring to the new Haunted House set which is the next funfair set and has deviated from the previous Rollercoaster etc by having a box that doesn’t reference Creator Expert. As to the Star Wars sets you referenced, yes they’re nice boxes, I have all 4 of them sitting next to me waiting for me to have my birthday later this month ?. But remember the Helmet collection is the start of a new product line aimed at Adults as display sets, with the A-Wing they’ve obviously trying to bring the UCS SW sets into the more Adult range, perhaps with the differentiation between UCS and Master Builder that the brought in with the Cloud City set. But these boxes aren’t as nice as the 2 Ultimate Technic Car boxes that we’ve had so far as they don’t have lids on my ones I have to either cut tape or break cardboard to open them and I still do believe that the Lamborghini box will continue what was put in place with the Porsche and Bugatti boxes. I’m going to quit this thread for now and come back to it once we know more details of the set.
  14. But this is Creator Expert and not the “Ultimate” Technic sets, 2 completely different product lines. As I said the 2 boxes so far have already been premium with the boxes in box and lift off lid. I think the article you’ve linked is more about dropping the Creator Expert label to create bigger differentiation to normal Creator sets
  15. I’d assume the packaging for the Lamborghini will be a similar design to the Porsche and Bugatti which I’d say is already an adult and premium box with its nice lift off lid, with lots of details (especially on the inside of the Bugatti lid) and a nice display of numbered boxes inside. This is definitely something that doesn’t need improving in this series as it’s already premium. I don’t know how you’d make the box more premium/adult oriented apart from sticking an 18+ label on it.
  16. @Clone OPatra - you didn’t show any pictures of the boxes in your reviews. May I ask how the boxes opened? The reason I ask is in Jangbricks YouTube videos he has tape on the top of the boxes to cut, but my 3 helmet boxes have the semicircle push tabs in the cardboard on the bottom of the back of the box.
  17. The Continental GT isn’t meant to look like a Sports car, it’s a Grand Tourer. I’d chose a V8 GTC from the current line up if I had a choice, they’re amazing cars to drive. Shame I can’t afford one. Of the older a Bentleys it would be a 2008 Brooklands Coupe. if everyone liked the same thing the world would be very boring.
  18. Well we’ve got a Ducati motorbike this year too and that’s VW Group. We could also get some MAN trucks, but I don’t think that would happen because of the Merc and Volvo stuff. Just noticed you mentioned Ducati already
  19. Yes I’m aware of that ? You could have chosen a better pic, and not something that’s been modified.
  20. Yes Lamborghini is owned by Audi who are then owned by VW Group
  21. How did I manage to miss this comment the first time around ? The Bacalar is a thing of beauty. but it is quite funny how all three “UCS” car are from VW Group. Who knows what car no 4 will be, we're still waiting the actual reveal of no 3 first!
  22. It’s a V12 with an 48V electric motor mates to the 7 speed gearbox. The car is AWD, it doesn’t have a central diff (as far as I’m aware, it would take up too much space) and it has limited slip on the rear diff.
  23. I’ve never had a problem using it on my iPhone and then using Flikr for hosting the pictures. Sorry I can’t see anything in the collage app that lets you see overall image size
  24. @msk6003 & @Shtykoff - I have an app called PhotoCollage on my iPhone that combines multiple photos into a “normal” size picture.
