  1. Ok, some update about building and the instructions. I'm making the last fine-tuning for the carrier instructions. While building, it was a challenge to fit the right steering by connecting the axle modules, and some parts steps have to been changed. The carrier works fine with driving forward, but driving backwards makes some noise in the gears. The portal axle system is rather wobbly, the wheels are not exactly in line while driving, especially on carpets. The cabin roof needed a little modification, because of the PF connectors it couldn't fit completely on the top. For the wheel hub axles I used 2,5 technic axles, they are easy to get by cutting a 5L axle in two 2,5L axles. For the part list I created a special DAT file, it appears in the part list, but the length is shown with 2, and not with 2.5. I think I've to write the length manually. Or has someone another idea to define the axle length? Here the example: Another question: Which resolution you prefer for the instructions? 150 or 300 dpi? Greetings Alex
  2. OK, no problem. Here it is: http://www.bricksafe.com/files/afol1969/Instructions/tatra13.pdf Greetings Alex
  3. Another project where I could make instructions, but at the moment I have too much work with the instructions overview from gerger's GMK6400 crane. And after this I plan to make the instructions for sheo's mining excavator. So I have work to the end of the year. But maybe someone's a volunteer to step the CAD file and make instruction drafts. And I think, blakbird has enough work either, so we have to thank him for all the effort he makes, like creating CAD files, renders, MOC documentary etc. Greetings Alex
  4. News about the instructions: I come to finish the carrier near the end of the month, I plan to to separate the instructions in a carrier part and superstructure part, with two part lists. Until now I built the submodels like blakbird has made them in his instruction drafts. But some models I'd completely change the step order to make parts more visible. I didn't need to change any parts, only some axles with another length. Of course I try not to use very exotic parts, I myself use the parts which I have in my stock. For example I don't have enough LB pins wit stop bush, so I use them in black. Greetings Alex
  5. Yes, I've seen it. Indeed the instructions need some overview, for that I have to build the model to get the right step order: Stepping, building, correct part orders, disassemble model, rebuild, last step control and so on.... Greetings Alex
  6. I hope, Sheo will complete his instructions, that we can build this beast . But I've made more compact instructions for the base: http://www.bricksafe.com/files/afol1969/Instructions/Terex.pdf It's still not perfect, the chain links have to be rearranged for a correct placing. But I'm working now on Gerger's GMK Crane instructions reviewing, and anyway, I still don't have all parts to build the excavator. Greetings Alex
  7. Open it! Why to have technic, if you don't build with it? Greetings Alex
  8. @gerger: Boah, a lot of suggestions! I think, at first I build the crane, test it, and then I'll begin to review the instructions. Of course I'll try to use common parts, to avoid that you have to buy exotic/expensive parts. If I change the pulley with a small one, which rubber belt should I use? I think a smaller one in . And I've to redraw it (I've still not much experience with LSynth....) And @blakbird: Did you made any changes on the submodels axle1 and axle2? I've already stepped them from the CAD file before. (see instruction example some posts before) Greetings Alex
  9. Many thanks for all your effort and time you spent on this project So I'll soon start for "perfect" instructions. L2,5 axles can be made easy, and more counterweight will be necessary. Both I'll add to the instructions. So let's do it, it will be a long work which needs lot of patience, and some more parts I've to buy to build the model. As your CAD file is full of Meta commands, I can learn some more LPUB functions, and I'll try not to make too much changes, as you have already put an enormous work on it. Greetings Alex
  10. As I'm an instruction maker myself, I know which massive time it needs to make high quality instructions. Big projects with a lot of parts, especially with LSynth tracings and weird angles, that need weeks/months. It will be fine a cooperation, you make the LDRAW file, and someone other the stepping and so on. If you want, I offer myself to cooperate . Greetings Alex
  11. Perhaps....but not before 2015, first I'll finish my other instruction projects. And a donation will be welcome, I think I've to buy parts again to build the MOC. So a part list will be useful. Greetings Alex
  12. I agree your question, but I think, there are some technic freaks who want build it (me included, and maybe Blakbird too...) Instructions take lot of hours, days, weeks....If Lucio Switch wants to disassemble it soon, the best method will be photo instructions while disassembling the parts in steps, it doesn't need a CAD neither an LFX file. Quality instructions can be created later by another one who is enough freaky to do it Greetings Alex
  13. Yes, it is . But I'd to stop the project until I've all the parts to build it, because it's really not easy to get the right step order. So I've to build it while creating the instructions. But I've created the complete part list, with rubber belts, fiber cables etc. And: How will it look if I mix with old grey with light bluish grey? I've seen it and I can imagine what a horrible work it was. My respect on your patience Greetings Alex
  14. Thanks for your kind words Although the instructions have good quality, I can do it better, I always learn new features from MLCAD. So you can surely see the difference comparing the first and recent instructions. The hardest challenge is working with Lsynth and placing angles/rotation points, sometimes there are MOCs with rather weird part angles . At the moment I work on several instruction on same time, as are: - Annihilator - Nico71's hot bulb Tractors (the two models) - gergers' GMK6400 mobile crane - Sheos' Mining excavator (review) In most cases I create the instructions from complete complete CAD files (many thanks to Blakbird ) or photo instructions. Greetings Alex
  15. Really impressive! Very well-designed, and it seems that all parts are perfectly placed. It remembers to Madoca77's creations. Any hope on instructions? Greetings Alex
  16. See the link in my signature. All the instructions I've uploaded at Bricksafe some tima ago. Link: http://www.bricksafe.com/files/afol1969/Instructions/Ultimate%208043_Ver.2.pdf And see the topic here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92669 Greetings Alex
  17. They are quite easy to follow, but I've found some steps where some parts are tricky to build. I've reviewed the CAD file from the base and have taken some corrections, but in general the steps with Callouts I could left unchanged, I wouldn't change too much on Sheos' work. An instruction example will follow soon. Greetings Alex
  18. Same here. Impressive and amazing MOC, as always! I'll make it on my build list, I've 8 Unimog tires and two 8878 battery boxes. But does it work with the standard receivers, I've only one V2? Greetings Alex
  19. I came out of my Technic dark ages in 2012, the time before I didn't know there were already amazing sets years before, like the 8043, 8258 etc. The Unimog was one of my first Technic sets, I was surprised how much development there was the last 30 years. Late 70's I got the 853 and some following sets, but at the beginning of the 80's there were my dark ages. And now I've found new enthusiasm in Technic, more than ever before. IMHO the golden Technic age began 2009/2010 And I hope it will persist more years in future. Greetings Alex
  20. Thanks! Indeed the final instructions take a while, I'm a purist to make perfect instructions. Once more or less the final version available, I'll share it, but I'll make updates in regular times if I find something what needs correction. I've seen it, of course I'll make the PLI substitution. Also now I know how to create rubber belts and show them in the part list. That's ok, so I'll concentrate now to get all the parts to build the model, hope I'll get them within the next week. As I've built Jurgens' Ultimate 42009 with the boom from Christophe Moitte, I used an additional battery box and some parts to make the turntable construction more stable. I've not made instructions, but some photos, so if needed, I can send them to you. Greetings Alex
  21. Yes, I can do it like this. While I write this post, I've already done axle2. I think first I do each model separate, later I'll see how to combine the models to get the whole construction. Gerger has made a good stepping, and in combination with blakbirds' drafts it helps me a lot to review the instructions for perfect presentation. But I've also to build the crane before definitively share the final instructions. Another suggestion: The turntable should contain a second battery box or other weight parts to have an good counterweight for the boom. Once the instructions ready, I search for a solution to implant the modification. Greetings Alex
  22. I've made an example for reviewing the instructions, by changing some part order and using Callouts. See here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hsapamt299n7hqs/axle1.pdf Of course there are some minimal changes to made for perfection, I used the model axle1 to show. Suggestions are welcome. Greetings Alex
  23. I'm already collecting the parts to build this beast, only a few parts to buy (I've 98% of the parts) I've enough 3L axles to cut some of them to 2.5L. I've already used this method in Markus53s' Unimog. I know about the weakness of the 8tooth bevel gears, does it help to place a 4th gear in the differential, to have more stability? This was already discussed in another topic..... Greetings Alex
  24. Bought the Cargo Plane, Container Truck and recently the red Pick-Up Truck. Greetings Alex
  25. Thanks! So I can use the picture as cover page once I've made the instructions. @Nico71: It would be fine that you can make more photos from your new clock, maybe I'm able to create a CAD file for making instructions. I like your creations, they're awesome Greetings Alex
