  1. I see that the building will be a real challenge. I'm still on work by creating the CAD file - a work which will take long time an patience. And as I see it will be a horror to place the wires - is anybody a volunteer to make the Lsynth parts? It will help a lot in most cases. Hope to build this beast soon, I think I've all parts now. Greetings Alex
  2. I think this project will be my biggest challenge ever made - in making instructions and in building. Even only creating the CAD file is getting , hope I would have still the courage to make the instructions. And maybe I need some help from our instruction masters... @therion: Please keep on document your work about the building process. It helps to get some alternate steps for building. For the axles, I take this suggestion to change it in the CAD file, further, it's easier to take two 8L axles than buy extra 16L axles . Greetings Alex
  3. That's exactly the problem I'm working on. First I tried to put the cables with the other cables inside the side panels, but they are too short and to stiff to connect them on the Receivers. I've to use an 20cm extension wire. Now I try to assemble the cables in front of the superstructure, in the free space near the cabin. Hope it will solve the problem. Greetings Alex
  4. @goggel: Good work Looks impressive. Do you have used one or two Firgelli actuators? Greetings Alex
  5. I've converted effermans' LDD file in MLCAD, but didn't have made the building steps nor made instructions. But I've planned to make instructions at a later time - if there's no volunteer to make this task I too had big problems with the files, for ex. big models I couldn't rotate. So there is no garantee that the part list in the MLCAD file is correct. For information: I'll soon finish the superstructure modification that two Firgelli actuators can be mounted (a second one I've ordered from France and just had arrived) The place where I took out the boom lift L-motor I've filled it with a construction which makes the superstructure more stable and stiffer. And the boom modification I've prepared too, just have to build it now. Some photos will follow next time. Greetings Alex
  6. Keep on good building:) Still waiting for parts I've ordered. And some more I need. I want to build that beast too - and I'm redrawing the model with MLCAD. For making instructions in next future. I'm now on the last step - the superstructure. A work for that you need steel nervs! I've never seen a compact building like this. It will need a large amount of substeps, callouts, buffer exchanges....and hundreds of instruction pages. But I try to use common parts to make follow the steps easier, for example I only use blue long pins, in the LDD pictures it's not easy to see, ones are black, the other blue, some in grey.... Well, one day the instructions will be done - but I think not before summer Greetings Alex
  7. What about building in another color? I haven't much green and orange parts.... Greetings Alex
  8. Yes, it is. @jantjeuh: I take worth on a correct part list. Some parts I had selfmade for the instructions, but I could all correct them or find alternate parts. Greetings Alex
  9. The first version with suspensions. Ah yes, see now you're the admin from Rebrickable, I first should ask for permission.....
  10. Last month I got 18kg of mixed technic parts - there I found four #3 red connectors ...and some more very rare parts. Greetings Alex
  11. Edit: The MOC is not on Rebrickable. So I've added it there. So it's pending for approval. The part list I've controlled and have correct some errors, now they are all correct. Greetings Alex
  12. Congratulations So you finally arrived to place and connect all cables and all functions work. The axle at the grille for the hook is a nice feature, I'll add it in the instructions for the MKIII Carrier version Yesterday i began to build it, I've finished the front axle. And I've a question to gerger: Is there a reason that for the 1st axle there are 4L black axles used instead of the tan axles with middle cylindrical stop? (so the 3713 bushs are not needed) Greetings Alex
  13. That would be awesome, since long time I hope that somebody in future makes a bucket wheel excavator that can be built - at least with > 10.000 parts If anybody wants to make the job, I promise that I'll make INSTRUCTIONS Greetings Alex
  14. Nope, sorry. The only part lists I make are them which I create with the BOM command in LPUB. It depends on the model size if I make complete or separate part lists. @Blakbird: the second carrier version is some studs longer than the first one, I had to increase the page size to show the complete model. So maybe it will look good with effermans' superstructure. It's a very good desing and really looks like an heavy duty vehicle. I think I've to make some more BL orders.... Greetings Alex
  15. If I've built it, I'll give the documentation of it If you need the LDRAW file, I've converted the LDD file. Just download it (see post #358) Maybe you can make some beautiful renders. And I'm interested to build it too. So it's possible that I'll make instructions in future time. For the moment I still work on the superstructure modification to mount the Firgelli actuators. A second one I've ordered and it will arrive at the end of febuary (because out of stock) I make all in Lpub and export the png files. To create the PDF file, I use ACDSee 6 and Acrobat 9. Before creating the final file, I add some text notes, pictures etc if necessary. Here you find the mpd file: http://www.bricksafe.com/files/afol1969/GMK6400-Carrier-Mk3.mpd Most of the steps I could take as they are, but I'd to add ghosts, changing step orders, make rotations and some more sub-models/steps. I do not use extra colored parts in the instructions, for that I create an extra file for the electrical/mechanic/pneumatic scheme. And I think too that the solid axle version has a better driving/steering effect - and for the superstructure with heavy counterweight. In the first version I noticed that the suspensions from the rear axle are rather stressed under the heavy weight. So I'm interested to see which version may have the most positive properties, Greetings Alex
  16. For the first version (MKII) with suspension: It's not really needed to take self-made 2,5L axles, the red 2L axles can be used as well. But it's possible they can fall out from the hubs. To be on the secure side, I used 2,5L axles. For the version without suspension (MKIII) you don't need any 2,5L axles. But it will be fine if TLG will make axles in half length as new parts, it's not the first time I was forced to cut axles. But I have a box with more than 1000 axles in different length, so I can make as many self-made axles as I need. Greetings Alex
  17. If I see collections like this.....how you make to have so many technic parts? If I want build something, I always have to disassemble some models..... BTW: I have 98,7% of parts to build the truck - more than I thought before Greetings Alex
  18. Next instructions: gerger's MK3 carrier without suspension As I still wait for the ordered parts, I haven't built it. So it's just a quick'n dirty instruction draft. An update will follow as soon as I have built it and controlled all steps. I must say that gerger has made a perfect work in function and design, all part belongs to the defined place to make sense. Especially the LSynth drawing for the electrical wires is very very good  Greetings Alex
  19. Sure you can use it. How it is designed is not important, it's the handling and function what counts Greetings Alex
  20. Example: http://www.bricksafe.com/files/afol1969/Instructions/RC-Unit.pdf Greetings Alex
  21. That sounds like a building mistake, will say a gear problem. Please send me some pictures (with notes) by PM, I've my crane carrier still assembled, so I can try to solve the problem. Greetings Alex
  22. That's an option, but there's to notice that the file contains many bufferexchanges/ghosts, will mean, an import will create many parts in double count. If you want to make an import, please send me PM, and I send you the clean file from which I created the part lists in the instructions. I already heard that some people seems to have problems where to place the cable connections. I didn't have any problems although I only had gergers' CAD file and blakbirds' instruction draft without any notes. But I've made some notes in my instructions, aren't they clear enough? If it's necessary to make the cable drawings with LSynth, so I'm very sorry, I haven't enough experience to create proper synthesis. Greetings Alex
  23. Hi Jan, Thanks for the review. So I think I've better to buy a second one. I think a standart actuator will do the job. But where I can buy one outside from Canada. I don't want to buy by paying 50€ tax again. I've found this shop: http://www.robotshop.com/eu/en/l12-linear-actuator-100mm-ev3.html It seems to deliver from France, is that the shop where you've bought the standart actuator? And how did you mount it on the boom, do you have pictures or even an LFX file? I'm still on work to modify the superstructure, with a deep mount point as blakbird has shown it some post before. Greetings Alex
  24. It looks very cool in blue color But for that I've to buy a lot of parts... Greetings Alex
  25. Hi gerger, I still didn't have tried the "add assembled image" command, I've just finished to step the CAD file. And I've created the mechanical/electrical scheme: So now I'll now go on to organize the instructions in LPUB - and build the model. But one question: Is it necessary to take V2 receivers? I've only one of them. And I already must buy a second servo motor and a few other parts.... Greetings Alex
