In many games, Cornelius, Foog and I get into group PMs and communicate throughout the game. Foog was Scum in IMHOTEP, I was Scum in Ragnarok and now it's clearly Cornelius's turn. That is ridiculous metagaming and should not be paid attention to. Cornelius already told me he won't talk to me in private during this game, so I have to make jokes with him in public. -

And don't get me wrong. I'm just trying to start discussion. I'm not saying that Cornelius, Rick and Pandora are all Scum or any of them. There's no proof for that. Although, it's Cornelius's turn, for sure. However, I'm saying that they'd be able to more comfortably tell that she wasn't Scum since they played with her so closely during that game. It's quite a long shot, mind you. The Scum can't figure anything out and Night Zero was short, but I bet they are trying their best and we only have metagaming to go on. We are being told that metagaming is the new black. def seems to be encouraging us to do this. -

No, of course not. You're only suggesting that we lynch one nominee and ask the serial killer to take the other out. That's sounds reasonable. -

But, are they more likely to try to recruit someone who can lie well and help them and has proved to play Scum well or are they just searching for the ones that actually can be converted. We don't know. I chose Flare because I didn't know him and I didn't want to have to guess and play the reverse psychology of the people I already know. How much power will the mayor actually have? Not much. He breaks ties. I can remember one tie in the history of Mafia: Bloodbrick II. If we're down to six players, I would be worried, but I really don't think the election of mayor now really matters that much. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I voted too hastily. Maybe I should have better reasons. My vote has been placed. I actually feel fine about it. I was thinking at the time, I'd be able to unvote if I wanted. I forgot the votes were locked in. Why are you campaigning for it? More WIFOM... Pfft. Maybe you should put one in... -

Jesus Christ, I really am being kind of a dick. Def said we'd have to change our game up. I'm trying the dick tactic. It feels...dickish. -

Why would the Scum want an inactive and relatively inexperienced player on their team? Come to think of it, the Scum may have killed Cecilie and been confident she wasn't Scum if they remember her only time as Scum: Steampunk Mafia. She had a number of Scum-tells. Perhaps the people who played Scum with her, Rick, CorneliusMurdock and Pandora, were in the best position to identify her as a safe Townie to kill. Who said that? Where? I can't imagine the Scum ever choosing not to kill. They need to move forward. Killing a fellow Scum could even confuse us as to who the killers are actually working for. So, there's not much risk and not killing sets them back a day in meeting their win condition. -

See, DarkDragon? This is what discussion is. Not just dumping a bunch of questions and running. This is also how I imagined it would be set up. Thanks! A hug would certainly help. Yes, I've been very argumentative. I had a case of the Scumbas. Maybe I've shaken it off. Who knows? But, just to clarify, I'm not disagreeing with DarkDragon because she hadn't said anything specific to agree or disagree with. I was just pointing out that the way she brought it all up was suspicious. Yes, of course, we can't be sure until we see a pattern. However, her behavior was odd. I feel I thoroughly demonstrated that. "Let's not discuss who killed who but let's find out who the psycho killer is and try to get the Scum to help us." Still seems weird to me, if I'm argumentative or not. Plus, when asked for more conversation from her she then started speculating which team killed who, which is what she was originally against and then concluded with the theory about the serial killer being converted into our vig. All in all the way she behaved seemed very Scummy to me at the time. Now, you've said anyone too set in their ways knows more than they're letting on. So, who are you referring to with that? Who seems to set in their ways to you? -

Where did you leave your brain? I said he'd make a shitty Scum target and a good vig target. Learn to read if you're going to accuse someone of contradicting themselves. And an MO can't be "to kill everybody" because MO means the method of which a killer uses to murder its victims. Duh. I mean, come on. -

I'm at work and I've mixed up all my quotes here since I keep clicking away. Anyway, you've said you know what the psycho is and then you guess that it must mean there's a psychiatrist. Psycho doesn't exist on mafia wiki and the psychiatrist seems to be associated with the serial killer with no differentiation for psycho. You're being all kinds of weird. I had another point but this response is being forced into my 10 minute break now, so I'll just have to hope it comes back to me later. I seem to remember him saying there were only certain ones that could be converted... I'll take a look for it. I forgot about the unvoting, but if you must know I went down through the list of players and chose the most unfamiliar name on there, assuming that he wouldn't be a threat to the Scum and less likely to be taken out at night. If other people follow me, that's there perogative. Oh no, you don't! Whatever will we do? ... Why am I being such a dick? That is just one theory. How is that completely reasonable? It's not very common. I've read where it's possible but never experienced it, so this being a Eurobricks Mafia game I do not find that completely reasonable by any stretch of the imagination. I don't follow this either. Having to fight two Scum teams (on the same side) one converting those we trust while the other kills strong players (shit, how do they know which side the other will target? Ha ha! Stupid Scum teams.) and a psycho killer and we can't have a vig until the psychiatrist randomly targets him? That sounds...not right. There's not even a precedent for there being a difference between the two or the separate role of "pyscho" even existing. As I said, I chose you because I have no idea who you are and I suppose the Scum won't target you. If you're inactive, though, the serial killer may as well. I forgot we can't unvote, otherwise I might not have been so hasty. But if we have to elect a new one, so be it. It's just the tie breaker guy. What are the chances of us hitting a tie any time soon? As for getting on your good side, why the hell would I care? If I were Scum, what would it benefit me to suck up to someone I don't even know and have no frame of reference for you Mafia experience. Oh, I hope you'll be my friend! Fruitcake. How? The watcher targets the most likely candidate considering they have to choose not-so-obvious targets so they don't kill and convert the same person? Flare's statement is asinine. All hail the mayor. Oops. -

It doesn't hurt to say it. But, the perspective is worrying. Why is a psycho more concerning? They kill Scum as well as Town. We should be equally concerned about both, maybe even moreso the Scum. But you said we should discuss things and then offered no insight to any of those things. You said you wanted to find the psycho but didn't want to discuss which one was their target. OK, so without the next dot in the line, how do we focus on the psycho? You said we should focus on the psycho killer, asked a bunch of questions and when called out, can't produce any discussion about these things. If you really wanted to discuss these things, you could start discussing them, but instead have chosen to defend yourself against my questions. So, where's your discussion about this stuff? Help us get into deeper discussion about your concerns instead of just posing questions that you have no input on yourself. And what is the difference between a psycho and a serial killer? I've never encountered a psycho in a game. The twist is that Dragonator disguised himself as Rick. Are you going to be worthless as well? -
Eurobricks Mafia Day One: Let the metagaming begin!
Hinckley replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well, since a psycho wants to kill everyone, including Scum, I find him less or equally as disconcerting as the Scum. In past metagaming instances, the serial killer has even helped the Town although def said he wouldn't let one win with the Town, so I don't think that's the case. However, thinking someone that also kills Scum is more concerning than the Scum themselves seems Scummy to me. Add to that you addressing the Scum as if you couldn't possibly be one yourself and you're lecturing and admonishing them seems like over-done posturing. But maybe that's just your play style. We've only played together once as Scum, so I'm not really sure how to metagame you. And you are brilliant, so I'd like to have you figured out sooner than later. So, while I wasn't suggesting we talk about which killer is which all day, I don't think we should tell anyone what not to discuss. All discussions are opportunites to catch someone in a lie. So why stop people from discussing things? And why tell people to just focus on the serial killer? "Hey Scum, help us find the serial killer." "Hey everybody, psycho killers are scary, let's focus on him instead of the two groups of people who can take us out much more quickly." Everything you said was weird. -

I wasn't snarky. I called you brilliant. That's a compliment. What great questions you've thrown out with nothing to add of your own. So, tell me, what good does discussing how many "Scums" there are. I think there are six, three and three. There, I discussed it instead of just throwing out a question. You're more worried about the psycho killer? Why? And how do you suggest we focus on him or her? Try to guess who it is and vote them out? OK, tell us who you think it is then. And the Scum should help us get rid of the serial killer, you're right. So, Scum, just reveal yourselves and join the hunt for the Scum. It's just so easy. But, no, let's not discuss the kills that we've seen. That would be a waste of time... And how would someone's Modus Operandi be "to kill everyone"?? I doubt you understand what Modus Operandi means... Sorry, but again, DarkDragon, I don't understand how, as a Townie, you would be more concerned about one killer than another, let alone the fact that one of us could be converted at any time. Ping. You got a ping. Congratulations. The only reason I could imagine worrying more about the serial killer is if you are Scum yourself. I admit I could be wrong, but it just sounds weird. -

So, judging by this nonsensical rambling, your definition of MO differs greatly from the real definition. You are also doing a great job of providing a long post with next to no substance. A great three paragraph summary. Ping. We can call him def. He stood up on the balcony. It's just def, not God. Yes, someone could've been converted. Only certain people can be converted though, so it would be lucky on the part of the converting team. We hoepfully also have a vig, but why would a vig go for either one of those people? Brilliant. How do you propose we spend it then that would be productive? So, Capt. Redblade doesn't even appear to have posted in the Night Zero thread. He'd, therefore, make a great vig target, but I don't think the vig would be so sadistic and chainsaw-y. I stand by the idea that Capt Redblade makes a great serial killer target. -

I don't like to be rude but shut up. Yes, I'm following that as best I can, thanks so much for the reminder. However, I don't think rethinking my game means I would jump to ridiculous and completely illogical conclusions. The Scum kill their own? Is that supposed to be how the Scum would rethink their game? I don't think they would rethink their game to the level of stupidity. We know Cecilie wasn't Scum, but yes, as I already thoroughly stated, the Scum have to be careful who they are killing. However, maybe Draggy is on one team and Shadows the other and they're already talking to each other. Cecilie did make a post about not wanting to share her puzzle piece, maybe the Scum were confident that she was Town because of that. So when def told us HOW to think differently, did he say the Scum would be trying to kill their own? Cecilie is a threat. In my view, Redblade is not. Therefore, if I were to hypothesize (again) Cecilie was killed by the Scum killers (because perhaps they felt confident she was Town and took the gutsy risk of killing a fellow Scum to get rid of a strong player) and Redblade, who was unlikely to be protected or watched was the target of a psycho killer. Why are there 2 versions of Scouty? Really? Physically chopping someone up with a chainsaw is less maniacal than crushing them with an inanimate object? Scouty, vote out Skully so we can see his allegiance. If that is the case, then you aren't understanding what I'm saying at all. -

Hinckley replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Should we wildly speculate about which side killed which player? Or was one a serial killer. Who is Capt Redblade? Seems like a serial killer target, someone unlikely to be protected. However, the way the Scum team is split up, it may be a safe split-Scum kill as well. Chandelier? Vig or Serial Killer. Cecilie is the smartest person in the room, let's face it. We're all dumb compared to her. Or maybe someone hates females. The Scum would definitely want her out early. Capt Redblade? Nobody knows if he's a genius or not, but I don't think anybody would reall want him out early. My conclusion: Cecilie was killed by the Scum Capt Redblade was killed by a Serial Killer The only doubt for that would be that Skully also bonked us all on our heads and brought us here, so could he be working for def? Or is he the psycho killer? He looks more like a psycho killer than a chandelier. I stand by my conclusion... -

Nice. And no, don't elect me mayor, for megabluck's sake. I say we make someone that nobody would want to kill by metagaming the mayor. mayor: Flare No, this won't get old fast. def said that someone is off the table for the night which, to me, means a Townie won the puzzle, since he said the Townie would be immune to Night Actions while Scum would have a strongarm kill. -

Better yet: If I'm right, then there are random letters strewn about to confuse us. If I'm wrong, then this is an enormous puzzle. Or maybe the square edges fit in the centers and it's a loopy outside puzzle?
