Well, he was smart not to send that to me because I wouldn't have been convinced at all. -

I'm not even Italian. People always think I am. There's no rule against quoting PMs. Can you guys post what Flare sent you? -

Probably because every vote tally announced that you weren't eligible to vote. -

Somebody else told me Flare contacted them as well asking to switch their vote to me. If Flare is Scum, and PMing people to switch their vote is pretty Scummy, I wonder if his doing that could've united the two teams. I myself did not receive such a PM. -

Not much time left and our internet keeps going in and out here at work. Hope I can finish my thoughts: Dave, what's really strange about you is how angry you're getting about the accusations and how you've now switched your vote after saying my behavior seems out of whack. At first, you didn't think I was Scummy but voted for me anyway and now you think my behavior is out of whack and you unvote me. It's weird that you've voted for TinyPies now when all he has done is suspect you. All he is asking is why you didn't try to solve it on your own withouth sharing what you shared. He's saying since the Scum was likely to have more pieces, didn't the help in deciphering the question help them more than the Town? It's a sound question even if it does mistake your intentions. I placed the first vote for you for mayor, but I by no means pushed for you election. -
Eurobricks Mafia Day One: Let the metagaming begin!
Hinckley replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I get your point. He solves it and then shares the clue to seem helpful (and maybe show how clever he is!) to appear more like a Townie. Couple that together with voting for someone he doesn't find Scummy and there's definitely something off about that behavior. -

Weird that you see my post as a rant. It seems rather logical and calm to me. Anyway, I posted one line to your first two posts because I think they're silly and I was playing Yahtzee. Then when a couple other people voted and Shadows kept trying to get a reaction out of me, I started to think more. And then Adam and Cornelius analyzed your behavior and well...it's all right there for you to re-read if you want to. It is good to know that Shadows read my post and went straight to his Potato Messages. -

When you're the one being accused, it's a little hard to see through it, but I agree with your assessment and that of Cornelius as well. This late in the day, for a bandwagon to form so quickly, especially when I've answered these accusations thoroughly, is odd. It does make me seem that these two, who are typically in cahoots, are up to something. What's weird about your vote though, is that you've been here since people started voting for Flare and you kind of mentioned being suspicious of me, but you don't place a vote. But then you place a vote for things I did before the last time you posted. If it's so important to voice your suspicions and vote accordingly, why didn't you do it the first time? Especially considering how much of what you reference happened before you last stepped in. It seems like you were trying to sway suspicion away from Flare and when it didn't work in a subtle manner, you went harder when you came back. And I seem to remember def saying something like: "this would be a game that not only allows metagaming, but encourages it." I looked in the sign-up thread but didn't see it so perhaps it was in the Den or in his application. But the sentiment remained in my mind about the game and today's title only served to further my thinking that he wanted the game played this way. We are all playing ourselves after all. That aside, I've made no solid accusations based on metagaming today. Any suspicion I have voiced was based on in-game behavior. I compared TrumpetKing's post to a past experience Scum post, but that was from a different player. My accusations have been based on activity from this game. Yes, I told Jim he made the exact same post as he did in Ragnarok but did I continue to press accusations against him? Did I join in with Scouty who is also voicing suspicion? No. I've been suspicious of DarkDragon for saying we should focus on finding the psycho killer instead of the Scum and trying to tell the Scum they should help us, to make it sound like she's talking to them and couldn't be one of them, and then she got defensive. TrumpetKing's confusion post seemed feigned. My candidate for mayor, Flare, opened his mouth and Scum-tells fell out. Every serious accusation I've discussed today has not actually been metagaming. So, just to contradict what I just said and really meta-game the way you say I have been, you and Shadows are notorious for working together. If you are Scum, this is my guess as to what's going on: You and Flare are on the conversion side. Shadows is a Townie you've promised to convert since you claimed to each other on Day One, (like the opening in this game says, not past meta-gaming experience. ). Flare is in trouble so you try to turn the vote on me. Shadows helps by attacking my character, hoping I'll spaz and seem Scummy. That's a risky move for Day One and especially for a smart player like you. But, I can see wanting to save a player if you only have one or two team members and need to find the other half of your team somehow... Or maybe you're Town and actually think I'm Scummy. Until your abrupt vote and subsequent mini-bandwagon, I didn't suspect either of you at all. What's the weirdest about what you did is how PirateDave and Tammo followed in your footsteps so quickly. PirateDave doesn't even think I'm Scummy! Way to pre-emptively vote to lynch a Townie! I don't think this person is Scummy but I'm voting to even the numbers out. Then, when I turn up Town, "Oh, but I said I didn't think he was Scummy! " Lots of possibilities. Very interesting Day One. We've got lots to analyze in later days. Are the real Scum sitting back and wondering which one of is safe to contact to connect? Or have they somehow already connected? Sometimes a host sets something up that seems impossible that gets solved very quickly, like a puzzle. I hope the Scum haven't figured out how to contact each other yet. We could be in real trouble if they have. Let's hope the Scum have been trying something today. Given enough time, the lies will be exposed. Just so everyone can see what I'm referencing (from this game) here are the two posts: Draggy said this after four people had voted for Flare: He is also one of the people who held onto their puzzle piece. Then in the post where he votes, he only references my behavior before the previous post. Why not vote the first time? Was the hint you tried to plant not strong enough? Nobody else took the bait? I admit, I'm guessing, but his behavior is the one seeming odd to me now. Not to mention, why would the Scum need to convict someone just because the nomination for Mayor didn't pan out? I'm glad Flare's not mayor. After he opened his mouth, I would've changed my vote if I could've. I've thoroughly and painstakingly answered every tiny thought in my process. Go back and read it, if you like. However, wouldn't trying to lynch the person I place the first vote for draw more unwanted attention to me? Why would a Scum member do that? Wouldn't it be smarter for the Scum to just focus somewhere else instead? Puzzle Pieces: Shadows - Sixteenth person to reveal his puzzle piece. CallMePie - Third to reveal his puzzle piece. Zepher - Seventeenth person to reveal his puzzle piece. Dannylonglegs - claims not to have a puzzle piece. DarkDragon - Sixteenth person to reveal her puzzle piece. Cornelius Murdock - First to reveal his puzzle piece. Scouty - Tenth to "reveal" his puzzle piece. PirateDave84 - Eleventh to reveal his puzzle piece. Nightshroud99 - Ninth to reveal his puzzle piece. Trumpetking67 - Sixth to reveal his puzzle piece. badboytje88 - claims to not have a puzzle piece. Cecilie - claims a piece but won't reveal it, but now dead. iamded - Fifth to reveal his puzzle piece. DarthPotato - Eighth to reveal his puzzle piece. Flare - Eighteenth person to reveal his puzzle piece. Alopex - Fifteenth person to reveal his puzzle piece. Pandora - Thirteenth to reveal her puzzle piece. Big Cam - Twelfth to reveal his puzzle piece. Capt. Redblade - we'll never know Rick - claims to not have a puzzle piece. TinyPiesRUs - claims to not have a puzzle piece. Dragonator - Nineteenth person to reveal his puzzle piece. People whose claims are in bright red or bright green claimed after the puzzle was solved. Didn't someone else claim not to have a piece since the last time I posted this list? I thought I remembered someone claiming that but I don't see it now. Oops. I forgot to edit that little question out of the end of the list. It can be ignored now. I think we have everyone. -

I'm surprised by how many people are claiming to vote to even things out. I don't understand that tactic at all. Not saying it's wrong, it's just incredibly confounding to me. Why not just vote for who you think is the most Scummy? By admission, that's not what you are doing. You place a vote for me but then say I do not seem Scummy to you. -

At least the two halves of the Scum team are now united. Mimicking Scuba? I haven't been a dick for at least two days and already apologized for it. And I was hardly a dick at all. Suck it up. The voting record analysis is more about who voted for who, but when they voted. It doesn't need to be for more than one candidate for us to have something to analyze. Or is there some way you can find the other half of your Scum team by having more candidates to vote for? -

Ugh, not being able to vote sucks. Forgive me seeming a bit crazy, but I responded to your first post by phone and once I went back and read everything I didn't realize you made two separate posts (and missed all the posts in between) and now saw you placed a vote. Not sure that made sense, or why I'm pre-empting this statement with babbling, but I am, because it's going to seem like a contradiction. While I metagamed your statement earlier and suspected you for a moment, I agree with the reasoning behind your vote. I think, if I could vote, my vote would be with TrumpetKing still, maybe I would've switched to Flare by now, but I think I could get behind a vote on DarkDragon. She was the first person I questioned today and the responses were never very satisfactory. Also, you guys seem to be forgetting that there appears to be two roleplay Actions out there. Big Cam is a two year old pooper and babdoy is in love with Adam. babdoy! : -

Why get defensive at all then? If you look back, we were offered the game before we knew our vote was going to be wagered. I would not have willingly gambled my vote away. -

So, you actually think I'm contradicting myself? Since we're supposed to metagame here, this is almost identical to a Scummy post you made in Rangnarok: "I disagree with lynching (lynch candidate) but I wouldn't mind seeing (lynch candidate) lynched, but I'm not going to vote yet." Ping. -

Well, just to show you all where the suspicion should be focused, I've thoroughly explained how I came to my vote and then aimed my first accusations heavily on DarkDragon. However, for us to have decided in private to simultaneously vote for Flare in order to ... do something Scummy, I guess ... is assuming that she and I are both stupid, which we are not. In a game like this with many veteran players, if you think you're up against Scum who would do something so blatant and stupid, you should probably check out now or re-think your deduction parameters. Sorry, no. That's nonsense. Yes. I thought the best person to choose would be someone who wouldn't be metagame killed and someone, therefore-as I've already said-I wouldn't have to guess about reverse psychology, since I know so many of these people so well, and in order to choose someone who was less likely to be metagamed (which mean people are more likely to target them for a night kill because they know what type of player they are) I chose someone I (and I would assume others) don't know as well, and you are the first person in the list that I am unfamiliar with. All the same tactic. Not a contradiction. -

Hinckley replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
This is a silly thing to say. Anybody who voted for you did so before you opened your mouth. Since then, you've opened your mouth and people have decided you'd be a good lynch candidate. Opinions evolve. That's not a contradiction, it's an evolution of our views of you. And as Bob told us in Heartlake, the world evolves around def, so this game is an appropriate place for our opinions to evolve too. If TrumpetKing67 had voted for you for mayor in one sentence and then to lynch you in the next, that would be a contradiction. Since he had a bunch of your behavior to analyze between the two votes, we can see he wasn't contradicting himself but drawing a conclusion based on your actions. However, looking back over the day, I find the people who voted for Flare after he made his first statement the weirdest, especially those -like TrumpetKing- who now claim that his behavior makes him suspicious. So, his first -and worst- statement was OK to vote for mayor, but now that a lynch has been started, it seems Scummy? Now, that's a contradiction. I've used TrumpetKing67 for both examples but that's because I noticed my second point after reading through the threads to find out when Flare could've revealed his puzzle piece. I'd edit it but I already took the time to write it all and the ironing is delicious. Did the Scum teams just unite? The real question is: if you think that's the case, why haven't you voted for me? And after telling us what a bad mayor you would make, why did you vote for yourself? Plus, you've never answered the question: What accusations against me were you referring to when you said I had answered all accusations? I can't find any. Perhaps you can be so kind as to point them out for me. Oh, I see now that you gambled your vote away after seeing we had all lost our votes. Gambling your vote is dumb! I wouldn't reccomend playing these games. So, Flare gambles his vote away and TinyPies votes for him for mayor right afterwards "just to close the gap and see the reactions" supposedly. Or whatever he said. I can see how we innocently lost our votes when we agreed to play a game where we didn't realize we were gambling our votes, but there's not excuse for the people who joined the second round. TPRU, even if you just wanted to close the gap, didn't Flare's behavior concern you at all at that point, enough to not want to get him so close to the mayor role? Don't blame things on Time Zones. It'll never fly. You're only a couple hours off of the rest of Europe, right? Anyway, your activity level seems to be the factor in the timing. I can see, based on your posts, that you weren't compelled to post your piece until today. I'm not sure if you were online and reading this thread during other times, but if you've posted every time you've checked in here, then what you're saying about the timing checks out. Wait, are you voting for me because I suggested that you were suspicious? Because if so, I really think that I'm getting voted for because no one has anyone good to vote for, and you're just choosing me because either: A. You're scum and so are the majority of the people who have been gaining up on me so far. B. You're stupid, your butt hurts, or you don't feel like actually thinking through which people seem the most suspicious. C. You have no one else better to vote for, so you might as well vote for me. Yes. The same thing happened in a previous game called Fraulein Bloodbrick, also hosted by def. Thanks! Is it annoying when I say "Ping"? I said this above: why would you vote for him after all the nonsense he spewed up to that point? Trying to get reaction from lurkers and Scum is a great idea, but what if that lead to Flare being our mayor? After seeing the concerns and his actual posts, didn't that seem like kind of a bad idea? I can explain how I chose Flare. I read down the list of players and chose the first name I didn't recognize. That's the next thing we need to check: who had the best pieces for guessing. That'll take some work... I should be doing other things with my time. What's with people voting to close the gap? You either think someone is Scum or you don't and you vote for the person you think is. I can kind of understand TinyPies's tactic to draw people out but he didn't announce it first. You don't announce that you want to see a voting pattern if you want to catch Scum in the voting pattern. You always do weird things and try to change up your game every time, but maybe you should choose logical tactics instead of weird megablocks. Ooops, I went back to being a dick. Sorry. But your megablocks is weird. -

Except I said this: It's a rambling way of saying what you've put much more concisely. And that's what I couldn't put my finger on at first. It's that mindset of "Uh-oh, I'm in the spotlight, better react the way a Townie would" followed by the thought that the accusations had been focused on me. Little questions and searches seemed magnified when you're in the informed minority. So, perhaps he thought there were accusations against me when there were simply pokes and prods.
