Alcarin

As the title suggests in year 2000 4 sets came out that gave a unique Chrome piece for our minifigs, I am wondering if someone recalls or has a photo of how were those parts packed? Were they secured enough so that they did not scratch while the box was sealed? The set numbers are: 4816, 4817, 4818 and 4819, can not find any unboxing of those sets. Thanks in advance

Exactly... and if we would only get the White tree and tower and like 8 figures (4x fountain guard + Denethor + Faramir in Gondor attire + Gandalf + Pippin as Gondor soldier) that would be amazing :)

Yeh i couldnt let them go out of PAB though, ill wait for Lion Knights now :) And still need Lion Knights castle so ye...

Yeh i ordered in 2 batches... but meh... id wait if i knew what GWP were coming out... sadly that is not the case or can you point me where any info is regarding that?

Thanks to this topis now i spent like 800EUR ordering 200 falcon knights + commanders... my wallet is crying.

I am always torn between this whole things vs playsets... In a way i PREFER the playset that is true to minifig size, because it can be more detailed and easier to buy multiple, then again the 1 big Minas Tirith would just keep letting me down because I would expect better, grander, more figs etc... Hard to call... I would be even happy if we could get White tower + the tree....

Yeh you are correct in a way... but I guess what many miss is a normal line of like 5-6 sets, where 1 is castle (Like Kingdoms or Black Knight castle type) and then other medium and small sets....

Must say dont feel bad skipping this one entirely. :)

Id guess Grey Havens with dock + ship could be in range of max 300 EUR... since the ship was not really big but ye apart from that probably none...

Well getting the White Tower with Courtyard would for sure bring a nice contract to both Orthanc and Barad-Dur thats for sure... and we could get like 4x Fountain Guards + Faramir in Gondor soldier Attire + Denethor + another Gandalf + Pippin as Gondor soldier + even possibly Imrahil... And then add another 70$ or whatever set with Gates of Minas Tirith with like 4 orcs and 3 Gondor soldiers... (2x Archers + 1x pikeman and make sure there are 3 shields inside for army building) or even better divide the Grond + orcs and Gates + Gondor soldiers into 2x 50$ set and 5 1 sided figures only Would be great..

Well to be honest, Bag End (original) was much better than Black Gates or most of other locations except for Helm's Deep and could use sooner remake really...Also Bag End is one of the most boring locations overall (movie wise) when you have so much more interesting locations from Minas Tirith, Minas Morgul, Grey havens, that give much more variety on the figs even that we lack.

Btw how long do you guys anticipate Lion Knights and Flacon knights will remain on LEGO to purchase figs separetely?

TBH, the point of LOTR was always fantasy battles, not those characters... its the perfect theme to army build really... Helm's deep with wall extension was an ok direction, but then it stopped for no good reason... Noone really wants 27 Theodens and Gandalfs :P But an army of Gondor and haradrim, Olifont hordes, Orcs, Rangers, etc... give us that...

Yeh maybe i love Black Knights because I still to this day think Black Knights Castle is the best LEGO castle there is... especially with Dragon Knights addition it really is something special that subtheme... never liked either of the original LION knights... Black Falcons are ok, but I missed those seeing as I was born at the end of the 80s... i mostly entered LEGO at 1993-2000... then dark ages begun until LEGO LOTR... with brief rejoining for 2 years, then again dark ages until Rivendell... now im here and want to army build. But this topic halped me find PAB stuff that I can order, and getting Falcons and Lion knights for like 4-5 EUR/figure with all accessories is fine, and aiming to get 200 Falcons and 100 Lion Knights...

Yeh maybe a bit unfair, its just that I guess I am bored of Lion Knights alltogether and would prefer something like Black Knights etc... and thats why it feels that way... yeh Pirates probably have it worse with Armada soldiers army building etc...

Tbh I dont need them to be masterpieces... I mean sure I would love more Rivendell type of sets that cover extra locations (White tower, courtyard, etc...) but I would not mind proper playsets and ESPECIALLY army builders like SW gets them... Give me a set with Gondor Tower Guard + 3 Gondor soldiers where 1 is archer and 2 have shields and swords... or 1 Ranger + 3 Gondor Soldiers...

If Rivendell was more or less perfect set, this Shire set leaves alot to be desired in my eyes as LOTR fan... Id rather have Gondor stuff tbh.

Yeh there are local online marketplace but it seems everyone is overpricing LEGO in local hehe :) Guess we are LEGO nation

Its just so sad, that Castle fans are etting it the most rough with the least variety for Army building... I feel like Star Wars fans have much more to choose from :)

Yeah realized that... well thanks to that info i purchased 100 Falcon knights + Falcon Commander... guess ill buy Lions knights castle and buy some more Lions knights and forget on Dragon knights and Black knights and sell them :(

WOAH, must say I did not know this, and they have Falcon torso on :O Amazing, thanks for that... do you know perhaps under what are flags? Cant seem to find Falcon flag :D

Yeh, my next problem is LEGO doesnt send to my Country even though we are inside EU as Slovenia... such fail really... we have some fake LEGO company that sells for LEGO in whole country and has PAB in main capitol but only paying per GRAMS not per small or big bucket... I gave up and paid 10 EUR/fig for 30 soldiers of Dragon Knights so thats it I guess :P
