Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Kaitan replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The details for uk release are here http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/products/lego+star+wars+visual+dictionary/10126758/ No details on the figure though... -
My partner and I had exactly the same conversation when we were looking at the new cantina pictures. I think it's a great idea!
-
The same here! The only trouble with knowing that these sets are coming is that we have to wait until August for them...
-
Wonder why there's brick separators in a lot of the pics? New inclusion in larger sets? or just a messy display?

At the moment the xp ranks are as follows - The possible ranks (and their required XP amounts) are: Empire - Stormtrooper/Tie Pilot (0 XP) > Imperial Survey Corps (10 XP) > Imperial Security Bureau (25 XP) > Storm Commandos/Shadowtroopers/Dark Troopers (50 XP) > Imperial Department of Military Research (100 XP) Rebellion - Rebel Trooper/Pilot (0 XP) > Alliance Support Services (10 XP) > Alliance Intelligence (25 XP) > SpecForce/SpecOps (50 XP) > Starfighter or Army Command (100 XP) These descriptions are more like different sections/departments within the faction, rather than ranks. I'm just saying that it makes more sense to have actual military 'ranks' e.g. Lieutenant, Commander, Captain etc etc - then leave the department up to the player. Saying to a beginner "Your objective is to blow this", whilst saying to a more experienced player, "You have to blow up this, get that, take out that member of the other faction AND paint the whole planet pink" seems restrictive to the beginner and just overwhelming to the more experienced . I know thats an extreme example, but the more general objectives, along with perhaps the occasional building restriction (e.g. size 16x16 plate etc), make for a more relaxed and enjoyable game in my opinion. Plus it makes judging a lot easier if everyone works to the same goals. Sorry missed this :) Yes we need to vote ! Top n Entries for me

[SoNE Freebuild] Terror on Nar Eurbricka
Kaitan replied to LucasLaughing's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
No offence taken Great build, even made me feel a bit bad...My reply to your reply is on the way. BTW It's Kaitan - Kaitlin is my sister -
You have to have a TC-4 in your basket, which you can't do because the online store doesn't have any stock at the moment. I'm kinda thinking they never will have any either... Edit:Ninja'd by a bear!
-
Its just a shame that although they are doing the offer online as well as in stores, the online store doesn't have any stocks! I live nearly 2 hours from my nearest Toysrus :(( I've put in a request to be emailed when they get stock, but I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks for your feedback, glad people like it overall :) The plainness of the 'ground' level is mainly due to my own indecision about how Nar Eurbrikka should look. I've sort of got a picture of a muddy tatooine, but with more technology. Then I start thinking about Nar Shadda and the vertical city and I get all confused again! I originally had a lot more stormies spilling out the door, but it looked more like a riot than a military exercise, so I took them off again. I agree the top section could do with some extra detail, to be honest it wasn't there when I first thought of the idea, it was just going to be a flat roof - like its source of inspiration the endor bunker. Thanks again, K

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Redemption (Alliance Headquarters)

Just posted my first free build - Going Underground -
Captures the scene perfectly! Looking forward to seeing more in this style!

The battle of Nar Eurbrikka wasn’t going well. We’d managed to keep the Imperials busy, fighting in the streets - We’d even brought down one or two of their AT-ST’s that they’d rather foolishly brought in to the narrow streets. But it wasn’t enough, we needed to get to the Imperial garrison and do some real damage, and we were just out-gunned by the sheer numbers of Imps on the streets. Even stormtroopers get can get lucky and manage to hit someone if there are enough of them shooting in the right general direction… Going Underground 1 by Kaitan Tylerguy, on Flickr Going Underground 3 by Kaitan Tylerguy, on Flickr Going Underground 2 by Kaitan Tylerguy, on Flickr Then a local sympathiser showed us something that could turn the tide. An old long forgotten sewer system under the streets. Lieutenant Dromas took us through miles of tunnels, sloshing through the maker-only-knows what. It smelled worse than a two week dead bantha down there. Going Underground 5 by Kaitan Tylerguy, on Flickr Going Underground 4 by Kaitan Tylerguy, on Flickr Finally we reached our destination, directly under the garrison. Then having planted the thermal detonators and set the timers, we began the long stinking journey back, feeling very optimistic. The tide was about to turn… Going Underground 6 by Kaitan Tylerguy, on Flickr ———————————— My original intention for this MOC was purely practice. Practicing some new (to me) building techniques, and practising taking half decent photos. Then I realised it could be used for SoNE :) So I would like it to be judged please! Hope I’m not jumping the gun by having a battle on Nar Eurbrikka - Don’t want to spoil any future episodes! All constructive criticism gratefully received! K Edited to correct some bad grammar...

Love it ! Threepio should really have a wicker basket though...

That's a great idea! It strikes me as the only way to make things totally fair.

SoNE Contest Episode III: Return to Echo Base
Kaitan replied to Lobot's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
How about if the top five scores from each faction are the only ones used to determine the final score? They are being judged separately in the second round anyway - Add the five highest scores, divide by five - gives a reasonable score to add to the faction, doesn't take into account the total amount of players on either side, and a real plus is no major extra work for the judges. I will point out that even using this as a scoring system, the rebels would still win this round -
SoNE Contest Episode III: Return to Echo Base
Kaitan replied to Lobot's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Grudging congratulations to the Imps :) ;) Thanks Lobot and all the other SoNE staff for organising everything and making it fun to participate. Ah well, on to the next build! -
Sorry forgot to say it's only in physical stores

Was going to just post this in the star wars thread but I assume others would want to know about it too This weekend Waterstones are having a 20% off sale - 20% off all non-discounted products, that includes Lego They have some of the new Star Wars Microfighters , a couple of the hero factory bags and some of the new medium sized City and Friends sets in my store, but there might be more in the really large stores like Picadilly. Worth a punt on the Microfighters if the price is the thing that puts you off!

I'm almost certain it says "x2" under the storm trooper (or x something :) ). I could be wrong of course...

Lego make the instructions freely available on their own website.... I'm not saying I'm an expert or anything - Go ahead , scan them, make an archive. If it stays up without any objections from TLG then great - I'm just pointing out the possible pitfalls. And thats my last word on the matter K

Just had a look at a couple of sheets I have laying around from sets I bought purely for parts and all of them without exception have © (Year) LEGO GROUP on them. So I would say if you have the sheets, by all means scan them and use them for your own projects, but don't put them on the net unless you want a load of "cease and desist" notices and lawyers knocking on your door :)
