It doesn't look like any confirmation that Venom is part of the MCU to me. Sony can say what they want and do what they want, but until Kevin Feige says "It's MCU canon" it isn't! (At least in my opinion)

Wow, such simple and small improvements turned a this good set into a great set with your build! I love that Dormamu too... "Dormamu, I've come to bargain!"

How about a CCBS C-3P0 with a Technic R2-D2 as a two pack? Sort of a flagship set like the Speeder Bike has been for this year. Find a way to incorporate BB-8 too and it would probably be well received.

Wow very impressive! As much as I love the interior of the official set, this makes a great display model; its smaller size allowing the possibility of building neighboring parts of the theme park!

Yeah that actually is exactly the type of engine I am thinking of in the exact same paint scheme too! I forgot one of the Kennecott Copper Nevada Division RSD-4 units is preserved in Washington. The ones nearest to me in Ely are at the railroad that one came from.

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
xboxtravis7992 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Brickset's review of the Arena Clash set is up: https://brickset.com/article/28430/review-76088-thor-vs-hulk-arena-clash I don't like it at all seeing these new photos. 2017 has been super lack luster for Marvel sets, and this just continues that trend. The best of this year (Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, etc.) looks "just okay" compared to the 2016 and 2015 sets. I hope this trend doesn't continue though, I don't want Infinity War to get overpriced blank wall sets too!- 5,808 replies

Dwarfs object to "Evil" Lego Dwarf
xboxtravis7992 replied to TeufelHund's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Keyboard warriors strike again! Its a fantasy setting so why bother about it? The "south pole elf" in the film Elf was far more offensive than this! (Then again I am 6' 3" so I might not measure up to the be the right judge of this situation. But still, just seems to be people crying out for attention ) Also go and count the "good" Lego dwarves: https://brickset.com/minifigs?query=dwarf -
That Alco with buffers and chain is messing with my head; not used to seeing RS units looking like that! There are a few RS units operating across the state line in Ely, your MOC reminds me I really need to go pay them a visit on a day they are running...

Star Wars Constraction 2017 Discussion and Rumors
xboxtravis7992 replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Something some of you might find interesting. I have a coworker I was talking to the other day. He knows I like Lego, and he mentioned to me how his grandfather collects Lego Star Wars constraction sets. Yes, his grandfather. I sure never recall hearing about Bionicle or Hero Factory being picked up by geriatrics, but hearing about a CCBS Star Wars collector in his golden years is probably a testament to the wide appeal the line has beyond Lego's traditional CCBS fanbase. Something interesting to think about indeed. -
Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Oh so many characters I think could be better than Goliath Man to get as a pre order bonus: Stan Lee Ego the Living Planet Squirrel Girl Spider-Gwen Rescue Any of the previously ignored X-MEN or Inhumans... Any of the Fantastic Four... Any of the Defenders... Namor Blade Deathlock Iron Man Mark I Knowing our luck at least one of those characters will be an SDCC exclusive none of us will ever be able to afford- 5,808 replies

[MOC] Disney Collectable Minifigures Series
xboxtravis7992 replied to Ashnflash's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't think there were any concrete rumors beyond Lego fan speculation. I think the success of the first wave and the Castle would have made Lego jump on a second wave like crazy, but I have a gut feeling the Lego Batman movie and Lego Ninjago movie CMF series cannibalized any in house talent and production resources that would have gone to Disney wave 2. I doubt we will see another Disney wave until 2018; if anything at all. There is a possibility our first Disney wave might be our last one, which I hope isn't the case.- 75 replies

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
xboxtravis7992 replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Darth Vader transformation and Bounty Hunter Battlepack; something I am sure most of the people on here have picked up themselves too! My first Emperor fig, 4LOM, and Bossk; and updated versions of Vader, Dengar, and IG88 too! With it I also love the brickbuilt droids that came with the Vader set too. -
Star Wars Prequels: Good or Bad?
xboxtravis7992 replied to VaderFan2187's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Looking at The Clone Wars, I feel the decision to release the pilot episodes as a theatrical movie was dumb. They didn't translate well into film and felt choppy and wooden; what was acceptable animation for TV felt cheap via blockbuster movie standards. No wonder it is the worst reviewed theatrical Star Wars film on Rotten Tomatoes! But as for the TV series? Sure it had a few episodes that were as bad (or worse) than the film. But it also had what I think are some of the best hands down Star Wars story moments ever. There are some great tense episodes, some great philosophical episodes, and a few good dramas and comedys in the mix. I think the character ark of Asohka Tano is one of the redeeming aspects of the Prequel Era in general; taking a young optimistic and annoyingly chipper character, and wearing her down and maturing here over the series until she becomes a young adult with a more sober outlook on life (not to mention following it up with her adult and tragic story in Star Wars: Rebels a few years later)... Brilliant and perhaps far better played than Anakin's arc in the PT ever was. Also the humanization of clone troopers, new characters such as Cad Bane and Hondo, great references to the EU, back stories for tertiary characters, cameo references to other films and behind the scenes stuff... Wow! There are a few turds in the series, but the good out shines the bad! -
Jawdropping! Looks a lot better than my attempt at this I made as a kid. I like the sandgreen, it is very appropriate for the 1960's-1970's era Soyuz capsules. Are you planning on making an Apollo module and adapter connection to recreate the Apollo-Soyuz eventually?

Wow its been a while since posting in this thread. Sorry of the double post, but I figured my thoughts here were new enough they warrant a separate post than just editing onto my previous post. First off, still excited for Spider-Man, can't wait to see that! Second, I have been thinking a lot more about Marvel's current plans for future TV series; a bit with Agents and more so with New Warriors. I am bummed Agents will not return to TV until January 2018. With that said, I am excited we are getting a full season with NO breaks inbetween the airing of episodes. That means a full 22 week block of one new Agents episode every weekend!!! That will be fun, but the wait for that will be annoying... Still with Agents having a full length run in Spring 2018, I bet the set up now is pushing towards Infinity War. Maybe, just maybe, we will finally get the Avengers aware that Coulson is still alive... That might be wishful thinking on my part, but I think a lot of fans want to see at least a nod towards that in an Avengers film. Now with New Warriors... Ant-Man and Guardians has proven that comedy can work well in the MCU Films. Comedy though really is lacking in the TV series right now, and obviously New Warriors looks like it will try and address that. However, I think TV Comedy could be a hard realm for Marvel to conquer. I have made it clear I enjoy North/Henderson's ongoing Squirrel Girl comic run for its comedy and I am excited the character will lead New Warriors; yet I fear much of the humor of the comic book will be hard to translate into TV. How can they play up Squirrel Girl's idolization of Iron Man if Robert Downey Jr. is to expensive to put in the TV show for even a one episode cameo role? Will the TV show include a character like Nancy Whitehead to act as a "straight man" in the wacky world of screwball superheroes or will it omit her to focus on other characters? Will the series play out as a stereotypical-bland young adult drama like so many Freeform shows do or will it be original in its style like the comics that inspired it? What other characters will the series use to introduce beyond the announced cast (Ms. Marvel seems to be a shoe in for later seasons unless she gets her own TV series or movie in the future). How will the show pay for the special effects for things such Squirrel Girl's tail and squirrel army or Speedball's ummm, speed energy power stuff? Maybe I am worrying about it to hard, but to be honest Squirrel Girl is the only Marvel character I actually read her comics before they announced her inclusion in the MCU so I worry about what will stay the same and what will change. I am sure all the long time comic fans had similar fears for how Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, etc. would be on film too... but this is my first time wondering those things. The show to be successful in my mind has to live up to the comic that inspired it, and I worry it will not. Well I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
xboxtravis7992 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I just saw BZPower's report on the Thor Ragnorok Official Set pictures. It claims that the Arena will be $60 USD. In my mind there was an evil laugh when I read that followed by a NOPE! Freaking ridiculous.- 5,808 replies

I think there is hype judging by how every click bait fake news ad saying "The next Star Wars is being filmed near YOU and they are looking for extras!" is constantly being shared by my Facebook friends. So if people are easily duped into believing that stuff and happily share it, then yeah they must be excited for Star Wars!

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
xboxtravis7992 replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Rogue One Rebels Battlepack and AT-ST. I now have every Rogue One winter wave system set (on the CCBS side I only have K-2SO). This is the first time I have ever really completed a System scale wave before, all the Rogue One sets have been a ton of fun. -
It was surprisingly fun. Yeah the internal logic is still wonky, and the supernatural stuff is over the top (a few sharks may have been jumped too...) but it was a fun popcorn flick. I especially liked how it undid many of the dumb decisions made in the second, third, and forth film; arguably bringing the story back closer to the roots of the first film and the original theme park ride. Speaking of the theme park ride, the ship The Wicked Wench from the film is in direct homage to the ship of the same name attacking the fort in arguably one of the ride's most iconic scenes. So do I think this film deserved the thrashing it got on Rotten Tomatoes? Nope. Not a great film by any means, but as I said a great popcorn flick that promises to help the franchise remain afloat. The film was definitely more fun than the third and forth one for sure!

I have both expressed concerns and praise for the different modding styles I have seen on this site (much of that in this thread). Today though I saw something that shocked me; a New Member directly insulting the mods of one of the Rumor threads. I was shocked, and it is taking some will power to write about this here rather than try and mini-mod the offending member. Furthermore the arguing going on in the thread made it hard for me to access any of the actual rumor news, giving a new perspective to what the mods say about off topic posts burying the actual purpose of the thread. Seeing this has given me a new appreciation for what the Mods have accomplished here. While I don't think it is perfect, overall I feel the Mod Team's vision for the site is a good one. With that what I hope is to offer the opposite of what I saw in the offending post; praise instead of insult. For a team of volunteer mods to try and maintain such a large site is an impressive feature. Having moderated some social media pages myself, I have come to understand why the mod team here on Eurobricks sometimes has to lay the law here on this site to keep order and focus. At the very least you all deserve a vote of thanks due to the eternal war against spam too!

First sorry Supersonic it says I quoted you. I am posting from mobile and it won't let me delete something on here from February Anyways, I want a large UCS Millennium Falcon to come out while I am a college student. It needs to be worth at least a month of rent or half the cost of a semester of tuition. It needs to be full of exclusive minifigures that will make me envious. It needs to be on the shelf long enough for me to work hard to have the money to buy it, then be retired just as I have the cash to buy it. It's price then needs to hyperinflate so high it requires me to take out a large loan to buy it; or painstakingly Bricklink it piece by piece. Then under crushing debt having got the set, this set will be out of date when UCS Falcon #3 is released in 2027 for the 50th anniversary...

Thomas the Tank Engine and The Lego Group
xboxtravis7992 replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Had they had that license 10 years earlier than they did (20 years ago now) I would have ate it up as a little kid! Yeah but they were a little late to the ballgame. Honestly I am surprised Thomas is still around and kicking, seeing they had adapted most of the original book stories before I was five.- 75 replies
