Maybe a good set idea in a year or two more. I have all the figures you listed, but I don't have a Lambda Shuttle yet and it is such a cool vehicle.

Anybody see the new Agents of SHIELD episode? Great stuff... Gave me a theory...

^Groping incidents, drunken behavior at work parties, and kissing incidents are the main accusation against John. Not quite as serious as say the Harvey Weinstein stuff... but still some heavy grounds for sexual harassment. I have to admit I was a bit shocked to hear about it. With that said, his blunt decision to take a leave and respond to the accusations are probably going to save his reputation at the end of the day. But if he doesn't come back after his six month leave... I have faith in the future of Disney and Pixar. Especially having just left the theater seeing Coco. That film was amazing. I am sure there is enough talent in those animation houses, that they can continue to flourish like they have been the past few years. Great film go check it out. I thought the Frozen holiday special pilot (I bet that will be on ABC next year for Christmas, I swear) grew a bit long in the tooth, but Coco was hands down amazing.

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!

I might need to get that Micro Fighter Crait Speeder vs Walker set... Because I am thinking that Resistance pilot will have to be my new sig-fig! -
Well; I knew that the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge area in the Disney theme parks was being developed along with the Lucasfilm story group... and now the new planet has an official Databank entry. Will that make the story in the theme park part of the Canon? It has me curious. http://www.starwars.com/databank/batuu

Oh I got a few I can think of. As far as American locomotives go while I love big steamers (Big Boy, FEF, GS4, PRR T1, etc.) my pick for favorite steam engines goes to the extremely large and varied family of 2-8-0 Consolidation type engines. Particularly the ALCO built ones, they look big, burly, kind of mean; and look like a true steam work horse. One example of this is the Nevada Northern #93 a Pittsburgh built ALCO 2-8-0 seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZo9yoxf5oI As for diesels? I am partial to a lot of the early EMD engines, GP7's, F7's, E9's, SW1200's, SD9's, GP30's etc. I also like the ALCO RS and PA series engines. As for currently running locomotives on major Class 1's I like the SD40-2 series and its rebuilds (SD40N and SD40-E for example): With that said I have a sweet spot for some of the "ugly ducklings" out there including the SD60M "Triclops" and the rare MK50-3's. As far as international motors go; my knowledge is somewhat more limited. I like the G22u which runs in South America. On the British Isles, I gotta say I'm drawn to things like their smooth 4-6-2 steamers and classic diesels such as the Deltic. In short... I have to many favorite locos and can't just pick one!

It didn't give us much other than a crazy reminder at how much Pixar's skill and abilities have increased since the first film... Like seriously, they probably used the old CGI models for reference then built new ones up with new texturing. The wrinkles around Mr. Incredible's eyes being an example of what I mean.

I feel like I respectfully disagree with a lot of the past few posts made here. Now admittedly, I haven't been able to watch every single episode of Rebels like many of the people here; but I try and keep up with the show and hope to have it collected on DVD in its entirety someday. Other then that obnoxious hippie space whale episode, I have really enjoyed every other episode of Rebels I have watched. Is it a perfect show? No. In my opinion it is overly focused on showing Ezra's point of view, hence why the rare episodes such as Through Imperial Eyes gathered a lot of attention. The Clone Wars did very well in showing the happenings of side characters, while Rebels is very focused on the Ghost crew. With that said though, I don't find fault in the charactarization of the Ghost crew like many do. Is Ezra silly? Well yeah, but he is still 17 or so even in the show's current timeline and kids that age IRL tend to act kind of like Ezra does. Hera, Kanan and Chopper in my opinion are spot on characterization we needed for the story of how the Rebellion formed; and frankly everything they have done is ten times better then the nonsensical formation of the Rebels that The Force Unleashed and its sequel tried to push on us back in the old EU. What would you rather have, a broken Jedi Padawan and his co-worker/sometimes girlfriend struggling for years to help set up a Rebellion; or one over powered dark apprentice ripping Star Destroyers out of the air then kicking Darth Vader's butt before exploding into a fireball, then getting cloned like a dozen times all in the span of like a month? Sorry, in terms of overall plot and story, Rebels is telling the tale far far better. And to be honest... I kind of like what I have seen of Rebels more than The Clone Wars. Yes Clone Wars handled its dark episodes very well and fans venerate those for a good reason. Yet Clone Wars was also responsible for R2 and 3PO going on Gulliver's Travels, Jar Jar Binks french kissing some pink alien chick with Mace Windu standing by in disgust, and some very cringe worthy series premier movie which sits as the worst theatrical Star Wars release on Rotten Tomatoes. Watching Clone Wars in its entirety was a very much hit and miss experience like Rebels, and when Rebels does get good it compares to the good Clone Wars did. I have to admit bias though, I prefer the OT era more than the PT... so Rebels hits all these sweet nostalgic feelings for me. So yeah. That is my rant. @Daimar, One more thing. First off, I had Rebel Assault on a computer when I was a kid. Hardly worked, but I do remember it. Second... Star Wars space battles actually have always been full of b.s. physics. In space with no air or gravity, why would spaceships be banking and speeding up as if there was air? As I mentioned, I have yet to see the Rebel's episode from last night... but from how you described it the thought of Hera doing a 180 in her X-Wing in the middle of space while still traveling forward is actually THE MOST REALISTIC SPACE COMBAT THING STAR WARS HAS EVER DONE!!! I am not joking, with no gravity or air friction, any vehicle in space should make sharp turns on a dime without banking or anything. It happens in real life anytime they try and dock something to the ISS as they might give the object a 360 spin just to inspect it before it docks to the station. The only reason it seems off is because the rest of Star Wars ignores space physics for 99% of the time, so as soon as something realistic happens it looks jarring in comparison. EDIT: I just saw a clip of the move online. The unrealistic part is how the ship stops on a dime before making its 180 turn. However considering that Star Wars has shown starfighters stopping on a dime before... the rest of the move is fairly realistic.

Original Bionicle vs CCBS discussion
xboxtravis7992 replied to MakutaOfWar's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I am a little bit surprised to see this debate is still going strong over a year since Bionicle has gone dead. I don't know if I have much to ad to this since I have been buying almost exclusively System sets since Bionicle went under. But I have bought one sole constraction figure since then; Star War's K2SO. K2 was a very very nice blend of Technic and new CCBS pieces, that not only was fun to build but looks pretty screen accurate too. At the end of the day, which system is better? I can't say... but seeing old Bionicle and CCBS are both part of the larger Lego building system I gotta say, I like it when MOC builders and official Lego sets manage to blend the old with the new. -
I like that the next trilogy is going to be separate from the "Skywalker Saga." I hope Rian really takes the series in a unique direction and gives us a more fleshed out look at the Galaxy as a whole. Also heavy rumors that Disney wants a Live Action Star Wars show to launch on their streaming service in 2019 along with a new Marvel show. After having watched Stranger Things on Netflix recently, I gotta say if a Star Wars streaming show is half that good then sign me up right now!

I haven't watched either Discovery or The Oroville; but this YouTube review/rant has me actually interested in the Oroville. Frankly this is the type of social commentary that has long been needed in modern society, and I gotta give props to the show for doing it. It helps to define there is a difference between equality and rights; and pedantic social justice nonsense. Social Justice Dystopia, I love that definition:

If Disney buys out Fox, we could get the X-Men finally under the MCU banner. But off topic from Marvel, first off Disney would want to make the purchase to also gain distribution rights to the original six Star Wars films, especially A New Hope whose distribution rights were given to Fox "indefinitely." But what would Disney do with Fox's other properties, particularly their animated TV shows? I could see Disney either trying to capitalize on the popular revenue sources such as The Simpson, but I also don't know it they are ready to also to take on Family Guy and crew... Heck, I wouldn't be shocked to see Fox's entire animated line-up be abruptly shut down as soon as the mouse steps in. Also if Fox goes down, it really leaves Disney, Universal-NBC, and Time-Warner as the sole kings of world mass media. Which would be absolutely crazy.

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
xboxtravis7992 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I kind of like the Sandspeeder. I had no idea that Lego still had the mold for the old 1999 "Blaster gun" pieces, so it looks very retro having those on point of the speeder. -
I could see the Naboo Royal Starship adapted into Lego. Yes even in gray with a few small "metallic highlights" (stickers, new-quasi-chrome lightsaber hilts, etc.) I think it could do well. Queen Almidala is still a rare figure so a re-release would be warranted. I think to make up for the lack of "weapons" on the ship isn't a problem really. We could get an astromech bay with two or three astromechs (RS-D2 and that puple-yellow astromech would be my pic for that role). Cockpit with either Ric Ollie or Panaka, Almidala and maybe Padme in the handmaiden disguise, and of course Obi-Wan and Qui Gon. IF they wanted "antagonists" a few B1-Battle droids could play that role easily. Give the ship a side build with a ground vehicle for fuel or something, make the hyperdrive swappable so there is one that is in pristine condition and another all beat up and damaged. Provide enough seats to make a "throne room." in the prow of the ship. In a way, the build needs to be similar to the recent Star Destroyer's and Millennium Falcon system scale sets; with a large focus on the interior play features. And if Lego wants to just ignore canon, I am sure they can fit stud shooters in it somehow

"Cut corner, reduce develop costs, and just pump something out?" Jeez... who ruined your day today? That is awfully pessimistic. This is far from the first time Lego has re-released something either, they did it with the Metroliner and Fort Legorado sets long before they did it with the Death Star and Taj Majal. I am happy to see these re-releases. Lego is a collector's hobby sure, but it shouldn't be a scalpers hobby. Lego should rule their market, not re-sellers on eBay and Bricklink; or worse Lepin's reverse engineered crap, and by returning an old set like this back to production it is Lego clearly reminding that at the end of they day they rule the market. I am happily awaiting the return of other sets like this if Lego continues the trend. Heck even sets I own already (the Emerald Night for example) would be great to see a re-release because I'd be willing to purchase it a second time.
-
Big surprise. Between this, the new UCS Falcon remake, and the Death Star update; it's showing Lego recognizes the demand for these old sets. It will hopefully burst the collectors bubble and prevent Lego fans from buying knock-offs from "the Chinese companies which can't be named"

It is time for a refreshed ARC-170 in my opinion. I don't know if the helmet mold needs to be updated like you suggest, but some new prints to give the Clones some variation would be welcome. Speaking of the PT/Clone Wars era; I think it is time to start revisiting some of the sets from the Clone Wars. The Clone Wars Y-Wing would be cool to re-release; with updated (regular faced too!) versions of characters such as Anakain, Asohka, Rex, and some of the Clone Pilots from the show. If Lego really wants to do something unique... make it easily modified to strip off parts of the cowling to replicate "repairs" to the Y-Wing or strip enough parts from the Y-Wing and it can look more like the ships seen in Rebels and the Original Trilogy! Speaking of The Clone Wars, a set with Cad Bane and a new-Ziro the Hutt would be another welcome release. Cad hasn't seen enough sets in my opinion and could do with some more, and Ziro has never been made by Lego. Perhaps a modified version of Cad's speeder with a sled to carry Ziro could put them both in the same set. Or Cade could be released separately with other Bounty Hunters (another Bounty Hunter Battlepack? Imagine Embo, Aurra Sing, and young Boba getting included too...). Another expanded universe option for a set could be the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge area being built in the Disney theme parks. It could be a large location based UCS set released in 2019 along with the opening of the theme park land. It could include some unique characters (Resistance and First Order trooper variants, old-Hondo Ohnaka, Harkos, RX-24) etc. and be scaled to System sets such as the Resistance X-Wings and FO Tie-Fighters to offer a display space for them. Imagine something similar to Ninjago City and the Disney Castle under the Star Wars name and a Galaxy's Edge set becomes appealing. One last idea, if Lego wants a reason to rerelease a classic Imperial TIE Fighter, why not include Inferno Squad and make it a Battlefront 2 set?

I didn't know astromech droids functioned as gaming consoles.

I bought the two Saw Gurrera episodes on iTunes and watched them last night. A few thoughts: The animation was well done. I know some people claim Rebels has a cheaper animation to it than the Clone Wars; but I couldn't see it here. Good facial expressions, Sabine's armor didn't bend around like it often does as much, and the shots of the relay station were very retro. The simple cloud atmospheric attempts reminded me of something ILM might have done for the original Trilogy, and it looked good. With that said though, one location came off as surprisingly flat, Yavin IV. I think I might be a bit spoiled from its depiction in Rogue One... but the cartoon version wasn't as rich feeling. Speaking of Yavin and the Rebels, great to see Forrest Whitaker and Genevieve O'Rilley providing their voice talents to the show. But the fact Bail Organa is voiced by the same actor as Hermes from Futurama sticks out like a sore thumb when given speaking roles in-between the film actors. Wish they had Jimmy Smitts on board just for that brief line. Ezra's Commander Brohm Titus impression was stupid. And his stupidity caused them to be nearly killed if it wasn't for Deus-Ex-Gurrera showing up when he did. Two-Tubes being shown as Saw's accomplice was a great Rogue One connection, but I wish his lines were subtitled or we had a few other Partisan Rebels who spoke in English. It was a bit strange seeing all of Saw's words being answered by a character who sounds like gibberish. Isn't the Kyber Crystal the same model from The Clone War's canceled Utapau arc? The prisoners... Yeah the prisoners were my least favorite part of the episode arc. I get it, they wanted to show us how Saw is willing to sacrifice innocent people's lives if it furthers his goals. I get they wanted to show how the Rebel Alliance's commitment to fair fighting and helping civilians, succeeds in drawing people to the cause while Saw's method alienates his supporters. But, the prisoners especially that green guy said to much and did to little for me. Kind of annoying watching them being saved and constantly complaining about their rescue. Also, is that what a Death Trooper sounds like when his voice modulator is turned down a bit so non-Death Troopers can understand them? Please no, that voice was a bit weird. I was expecting them to sound more like Master Chief and less like "British stage director who invited the cast to tea" type of voice. At least we finally got some extended scenes with Death Troopers in a firefight, something sorely missing from Rogue One and last season of Rebels. Where's Thrawn?? Overall, I enjoyed the episodes. It was good; but it wasn't great. The pacing was a bit slow, and a few nitpicks dragged it down. Still I enjoyed a look into the relationship between the Rebels and Saw; and liked how it tied into Rogue One. EDIT: Once again Alex on Star Wars: Explained does a pretty good review of the episodes, summing up all the best and worst aspects of it:

When I first heard of the set, I thought it was a bit pandering to political correctness. I complained about that on here. Then I read it was likely going to have Katherine Johnson in the set. Shortly after that I saw Hidden Figures. It was a great film. It made me reconsider my initial thoughts to this set. At the very least I was convinced Katherine Johnson deserved a Lego figure. Then today rolls around and it is revealed "due to licensing Katherine Johnson could not be included in the set." What the actual freak Lego? What the actual freak? On the bright side, the figures will be collectible for minifigure customization... But still, no Katherine kind of stings.
-
Still it seems funny our order of old characters being re-canonized... Thrawn, Ruhk, Tag & Bink... I feel like they sort of skipped over more likely characters such as Kyle Katarn, Mara Jade, Revan, etc. just to get straight to the least likely non-canon characters to become canon. Of course Ron Howard might be throwing around their names as misdirection, but given that the creator of the two characters is saying Ron Howard is being serious... it seems very likely those two will play a small role in the new film.
-
There is a recent Ron Howard tweet suggesting old-Star Wars non-canon characters Tag & Bink; might actually be canonized in the upcoming Han Solo film... If true that absolutely came out of the blue!
