  1. Seeing it with the proper NS number is really cool!
  2. That patriotic one is a standout to me! The local tourist railroad near me just got a BN Wide Vision caboose. They painted it red to make "a red caboose" to lease on special trains; but I wish they had kept it in Cascade Green. The BN is one of my favorite fallen flags, that shade of green is really unique in American railroading.
  3. After I bought Ekimu I lost desire to continue collecting the Bionicle sets for the time being, but I have a feeling in a few months the story of Bionicle 2016 for me will be "Bricklinking stuff I should have bought a year ago!" I am only three or so sets away from completing the entire retail range of Bionicle 2015 sets, so I figure after that 2016 is next!
  4. I like the retro nostalgia 2009 vibes it has. Reminds me of my TFOL years. That is me exactly too! Boxes take up space better reserved for actual Lego bricks.
  5. Saw the boxart release for The Last Jedi. Knowing we are going to get a Force Friday II is a bit frustrating. I remember 2015 all to well, were every photo of any TFA set which came out was instantly pulled down by Lego or Disney. There is going to be a lot of arguing disappointment and speculation until Force Friday II finally happens.
  6. Ikaatril I have no clue what your sources are, but Rogue One has been ridiculously successful. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/franchises/chart/?view=main&id=starwars.htm&p=.htm Also bashing Rey as a Mary Sue just because she is a powerful female character is ridiculous. Also considering the Rotten Tomatoes score for TFA I wouldn't consider it a story fail in any way.
  7. I had this issue when both my parent's Shi-Tzu's where still in the stage of their lives where they chewed anything they could get to. The simple solution was to put things on shelves or in rooms where the dogs just couldn't get into. Now they are both older and their desire to chew Lego has passed, and I am now back to sometimes even storing spare stuff on the floor. Still, I keep the room my Lego is in with the door closed at all times. Cats or larger dogs though I imagine would be a harder problem to solve. Shi-Tzus don't jump like cats, and have a short reach... Height was all that was needed.
  8. You know I have been a bit critical of a few aspects of Rebels in a few other discussions on the forums recently; so finding this video reminds me of everything I do love about the show; particularly the job it has done in expanding the Star Wars universe's "New Canon":
  9. Well that sums up the game perfectly. I actually have yet to try the Expansion Pack, but the base game shows that to. Especially the use of Kyle Katarn and Mara Jade in the skirmish modes. As I said in the Star Wars discussion, I find it sad we will probably never see a Star Wars RTS again. I really want to see a glorious RTS mash up like Empire at War was again just in the new canon. Just curious how Captain Rex's beat up AT-TE would fare against that General Veers AT-AT . Its a pity the RTS genre is so small right now, I truly miss back in the day when it was such a larger genre.
  10. The one trick I have for ground battles is relying on your artillery. Rebel artillery comes with spotter droids which can temporarily remove parts of the fog of war. The Imperial artillery can work the same way if coupled with some scout troopers. I have played many a game where I just plow four artillery tanks together in a choke point, and get to sit back and watch hordes of armies, AT-AT's, etc. get plowed down by never ending artillery strikes. I then use the spotter droids if I am playing as a rebel to target Y-Wing attack runs on the enemy base, which cripples them immensely. By the time my main ground forces roll in, there are only a few Stormtroopers scattered about the ruble of the base. Also the snowspeeder in the Rebel's arsenal is very lethal. It takes a long time to kill targets, but considering there are so few anti-air units in game, if a horde of speeders can destroy the anti-air stuff quickly, they then have free reign to slowly pepper the enemy with blaster fire. I have let snowspeeders kill the Emperor himself in this method several times, even the dark lord of the Sith is ineffective against a horde of buzzing speeders! With that said, I really wish in retrospect that the Imperials had the Tie Striker in their arsenal to do the same thing. Most of the Empire's ground forces are a bit weak against the Rebels; the AT-AT units, AT-ST, and the Clone Wars style tank being their standouts. Tie-Maulers are just to easily killed to make any impact on the battle.
  11. What difficulty do you have it set to? I haven't had any issue with it on Easy or Medium difficulty. As Forrestro said, just focus on the main objectives and try and get those out to limit the spawning of more ships. Destroying the hanger shuts down the spawning of enemy fighters. The corvettes stop coming once the whole station is down. Also try and build up as big of a force as possible, since being able to spam your own troops into the field helps. Also I prefer playing as the rebels though in space. I know the Empire is considered more powerful, but the rebel ability to stock up on fighters to spam the map helps a lot in battle. Y-Wings especially can take out hard targets fast.
  12. I actually found the original comment a little funny, since my friends and I were joking about rampant plagiarism in the railfan community a few days back. Many scale modelers offer it for free knowing that they aren't going to make profit off small advice! Of course the most modelers get their stuff into magazines or books, where people have to pay money to get the content in them. Not too different to the AFOL community asking for money for some instructions.
  13. Resize it in a photo editing software to match the dimensions stated in the site guidelines. I use MS Paint.
  14. It looks like someone called out a celebrity with their wish list for a live action Asohka film, and the celebrity responded saying yes. Hardly an official announcement from Lucasfilm about anything. Just because a celebrity has interest in a role doesn't mean the role even exists, and if it did what would guarantee them to be casted? Just some hoopla to get some nerds interested in her Twitter page probably and increase her follower count.
  15. Okay lets catch up the list now. Last time I was on here I only had a few comics that I had read, but the list is growing quickly now. Here is what I got so far: The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl (I own a copy of Volume 1, and I have read Volume 2 and the graphic novel Squirrel Girl Beats Up the Marvel Universe at the university library.) Superior Iron Man (I own both Volumes.) Star Wars: Darth Vader (I own Volume 1). Star Wars: Han Solo (I own the five paper back comic books). And while at the university library I have read a bit of Rocket Racoon, Moon Knight, Marvel 1602, and even browsing through an old favorite of mine from my youth Calvin and Hobbes (the university library has the complete Calvin and Hobbes collection.) The university library also has some Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) books, but they start in like Volume 5 so I don't want to start reading any of those until I can see what happens in all the previous volumes. So from those series the ones I want to continue collecting is Darth Vader and Squirrel Girl (Darth Vader being great because it is dark, brooding, and viscous; while Squirrel Girl is great for being exactly the opposite! ) However I want to see if you guys have any other recommendations or suggestions. I like definitely seem to have more affinity for Marvel than I do DC; but for some reason the comic series featuring the same cast as the MCU characters in Marvel right now all seem to be a little weird(Tony Stark adopted? Captain hailing Hydra? Jane Foster Thor?) so I am a tad apprehensive to read them since they seem to have some real wonky plot lines going on. It seems I am mostly enjoying the comedy stuff. When it comes to DC the only real character they have that might interest me is Batman; but I don't know if he has any interesting series going on now. Plus since I tend to buy Volumes instead of individual books, I need to be money savvy in my comic purchasing plans.
  16. Yes that seems to fit with my memories from Clone Wars/Battlefront/Battlefront 2 video games I played. Its a lean urban combat tank sort of like the Imperial Repulsor/Tread tank we saw in Rogue One. The old one was way to chunky. And as for is it iconic enough to warrant a second Lego set? That I can't say. For us 20 year old or so AFOL's it probably is since we have memories of all the video games it showed up in. However, for kids? This tank never appeared in any of the movies, episodes of The Clone Wars, or anything else that is currently canon. Just a few appearances in Legends comic books outside of the after-mentioned video games... Still, I want the tank itself for the retro nostalgia vibes, plus getting Aayla and a Phase II gunner sound really exciting. I haven't really bought a nice Clone Army set since the 2008 AT-TE, so I am glad to finally bolster that part of my collection a bit after all these years!
  17. I know it is a super grainy picture since I took it on my cellphone; nor is it all of my superhero figures, but it is the Avengers team up I have on display in-between some of my modular buildings. It is a work in progress collection, since I hope to buy a few more sets and a few pieces to finish off some custom figures in the following months. Collection as seen in photo, Left to right, top row: Spiderman (Spiderman 2 variant), Warmachine Mark II, Thor (Avengers), Hulk (AoU). Left to right middle row: Miles Morales Spiderman, Black Panther, Scarlet Witch (AoU), Winter Soldier (Civil War), SHIELD Agent Left to right front row: Squirrel Girl (custom, waiting purchase of correct torso piece), Black Widow (Avengers with swapped out hair piece for Winter Soldier look), Iron Man Mark 45, Captain America (Civil War unmasked variant), Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider. Not Pictured Avengers figs: Captain America (bright blue suit), Iron Man Circle on Chest, Heartbreaker, Mark 42, Mark 43; The Ancient One, Maria Hill (incomplete set of Bricks and Pieces orders for the torso, awaiting purchase of proper head to match the version seen in the set; spare torsos reserved for future custom figs), Spider Man (bright blue and red version), Phil Coulson (custom version, will be replaced once I buy Detroit Steel Strikes. Body is from old JJ Jamenson figure from Spider Man 2). Rest of the collection: Super Heroes http://brickset.com/minifigs/mycollection-owned/category-Super-Heroes Lego Batman Movie CMF http://brickset.com/minifigs/mycollection-owned/category-Collectible-Minifigures/subcategory-The-LEGO-Batman-Movie Spider Man 2 http://brickset.com/minifigs/mycollection-owned/category-Spider-Man
  18. Oh gosh, reading your debates about the future of Rebels is suddenly reminding me of being on Eurobricks discussing the future of Bionicle exactly a year ago... That is freaking me out a bit. I don't want history to repeat itself, but sadly the writing seems to be on the wall. I hope if Rebels only has one more season after this one they make it a grand finale worth remembering. Also what some of you have said about the design philosophy in Rebels... Sometimes they seem to tweak stuff in weird ways. My prime example of this is the inclusion of a few civilian transports in the series. They took the effort to include the RX-24 droid from Star Tours, even getting Paul Reubens to reprise his role. But then they plop the droid into some new bland ship called a "Star Commuter" which looks like another drab piece of prequel era background ships. Never-mind the fact that the Star Speeder from Star Tours which is a "vehicle" millions of people have "experienced" on the theme park ride; is actually canon thanks to the Force Awakens... It feels like they just went halfway there, like they wanted the droid, but didn't dare bring everything else in with it. I feel this happens with other stuff too... Like Rebels wants to bring in new stuff and some old EU stuff, but they cherry pick and sometimes leave the most interesting stuff on the cutting room floor. I have been having a lot of fun with Rebels as a show (from the bits I have been able to see via DVD)but to be honest the most exciting thing about Rebels right now is how close it is to Rogue One in the timeline. And that's the thing, if I had to make a choice between spending money on last year's Rebels sets compared to last years Rogue One wave; the Rogue One wave wins hands down! In fact I already have the U-Wing and Krennic's shuttle and will be buying the AT-ST and Hovertank as soon as I can... In comparison the only Rebels stuff I own is the Microfighter Ghost and a Agent Kallus figure I Bricklinked, an investment of $18 dollars or so compared to the $150 I have already sunk into Rogue One stuff (I will buy the Phantom II once it released in the states, but that has more to do with the inclusion of Thrawn than anything else...). I love them both, but honestly Rogue One is the thing which I am most compelled to buy right now. Anyways back to the set wishlist... I don't know if I mentioned this but I want to see one of Saw Guerra's X-Wings made into a set. A good chance to get a new OT style X-Wing, but something different from our usual Red 5 sets.
  19. So far out of the summer wave the only things I feel compelled to buy are the Bounty Hunter and FO battlepacks, and the new Republic Tank. Seeing that tank brings back a lot of memories of old Star Wars video games (It isn't even a canon vehicle right now is it?) The Battlepacks sound good. Maybe I will get the Rathtar set just to get an older Han Solo figure.
  20. If anything is affecting Rebels sets, I believe it is the same thing which affected some of The Clone Wars sets (although it was less noticeable with Clone Wars due to the fact that theme didn't have to compete with new live action films). With both Rebels and Clone Wars I have noticed most sets that were released corresponded to scenes early on in a season. For example, the Phantom II from this year was introduced pretty early on in Season III. Most of the Season II sets were also based on stuff that was introduced early on in that season. I think Lego is probably given by Lucasfilm some concept art and reference material only for the first few episodes of the season, and expect Lego to base all the merchandise off that. I figure this is why we have yet to see sets based on the grand season finales (for example the Duel on Malachor at the end of Season 2). And unfortunately Rebels has a habit of having slow season openers and dramatic finales... As such the sets we are getting aren't even based on the most memorable aspects of the show! Rebels could be a gold mine for Lego, if only they could tap into the memorable moments in the show. I am still hoping for a Rebels AT-AT, or a new Ghost, the Hammerhead cruisers, Tie Defenders, and a new Darth Maul figure. However, if Lucasfilm keeps giving Lego only the season opener stuff to avoid spoilers down the line, Lego will only be producing the less memorable filler vehicles sadly. And of course with the new films out, Lego is probably going to focus on the higher revenue potential those films offer. TFA and Rogue One have probably been seen by a far wider group of people than Rebels has been, and as such TFA and Rogue One sets will drive sales up higher. However, seeing how Lego is slowly releasing one-off Clone Wars sets still, my hope is that even once Rebel's is cancelled we will still see at least one or two Rebels sets every other year. The crossover appeal of some Rebels stuff with Rogue One could help (trust me, it seems a lot of people want a Hammerhead set now!) The rumors that Sabine will be in this year's Advent Calendar seem to suggest that even if they aren't in the spotlight, we could expect Rebels merchandise to stick around for a while. With that said it is befuddling that Lego seems to be putting so much focus on Freemaker's sets. I figure the TV show must be doing well for them... but still. Considering those set slots could have been filled with Rebels/Clone Wars/TFA/OT/PT/Rogue One stuff... It is strange that Lego is filling so much of their production capability with these forgettable sets. I can't imagine that the Freemaker's show has a higher viewership than Rebels; but then again who knows what kids are watching more between the two.
  21. Come on the spoiler embargo has been lifted! We all know that particular scene you speak of is known properly as #Vader Fulfilling Fanboy Dreams in 2016!
  22. First off, thanks for the compliment! But yeah, for a kid into Star Wars the 2000's had plenty of fun video games. My parents would rent me Star Wars games from the local video store for many years. The early 2002-2003 era Star Wars Clone Wars was the first video game I actually played on an Xbox at my friends house. I played a lot of them, and even the mediocre ones were still a lot of fun. I noticed that Star Wars games really started to slow down though after Revenge of The Sith... and it seemed the end of LucasArts was just the final nail in the coffin. As for the Battlefront rumors. The OT and ST are favorites in my mind over the PT... However, the PT was visually very diverse; and offered a lot of fun places for videogames. I would love to return to Geonosis, Kamino, or Naboo in a new game. Also The Clone Wars and Rebels should offer plenty of other great locals to visit. Imagine a Battlefront map set on Umbara from the Clone Wars?
  23. I doubt it's a teaser, and more just a tongue in cheek commercial.
  24. I just noticed that this passed by without any of us mentioning it here. It seems despite the fact both Bionicle and Lego Pirates are canceled themes; Lego featured them both in a series on their YouTube channel two months back. The pirates have kept going in other videos encountering current Lego themes, but the fact it started with Pirates v. Bionicle is rather funny in my opinion. Oh, and Tahu kicks butt. In a weird way, this might be the last Bionicle commercial ever made, unless Lego does a G3 in the far off future.
