  1. I agree that Jurassic World wasn't that good. It was fun, but there are to many "What Idiot Though That Was A Good Idea!!" moments during the film to make it worthwhile. Chris Pratt seemed to be the only character with half a functional brain in the whole film. I'd rate Jurassic World rather low. Star Wars was fun,a good start to a new trilogy. The Martian was great. Inside Out was also excellent. Let's see what 2016 brings now!
  2. Yeah I collect to display, but I MOD sets a bit when I have them: and I like Moccing to... So I'm umm, all of the above?
  3. A few heritage and tourist railroads operate original or replica cars. The Durango and Silverton Railroad and the Cumbres and Toltec operate cars which look the part. Disneyland used to operate a set of yellow replica cars which looked similar to the era, which are now in some Musuem or collection (somewhere). The Nevada State Railroad Musuem and the California State Railroad Musuem also have similar trains in their collection. Pictures of the real cars would help build a MOC.
  4. Galidor has a few unreleased sets registered on Brickset, obviously canceled due to the lackluster performance of that theme. Brickset has a few unreleased sets in several themes registered, its just I don't remember them all.
  5. Besides, when Lucas sold Star Wars to Disney he had a lot of background with them. Disney had worked on Star Tours, Indianna Jones rides, a segment based on Indianna Jones in The Great Movie Ride, George and Disney also worked on Captain EO with Michael Jackson, and he also worked with them on ExtraTERRORrestrial. Back in Disneyland guide books even as far as the late 90's Disney was already speaking of George as a modern day visionary. Besides talks about selling Lucasfilm to Disney started on the day of the premier of Star Tours: The Adventures Continue in Florida. Public statements at the time suggest George was receptive to the idea and due to all the experience with Disney found them to be the best fit for Star Wars. Besides Lucas always said he was going to retire after he finished "Red Tails" anyway... Now Disney has had roaring success with the new Star Wars. George should have seen it coming, but right now he seems bitter about it. We don't even really know if he actually enjoyed the film since he seems to be focused in the fact it is Star Wars and he wasn't involved. Other than how he was invited to the premier. Or how his name was in the credits as the guy who created the story. Or his near 30 years of involvement with Disney now. Or the fact JJ Abrams is such a fanboy, that even the Star Trek reboots look like auditions for JJ's role as director. Or ignore the fact the original cast got together for Episode 7. Yeah, white slaver jerks! How dare they make a fun movie! ;) In other opinions: I suggest that Lawrance Kasdan must write all future Star Wars films.
  6. Which type of Football? Futbol or American Football? If it is Soccer I would pay for a Messi figure :) I don't care to much for any thing else sports related unless they bring Lego Basketball back. Edit: Just noticed it is American Football. Unless they do something based on a local college team, I'll pass.
  7. Hey now that Episode 7 has been released, I wonder if there will be more explanation to retcon the "Legends" EU stuff like this:
  8. Check out the newest post on the Ideas blog, if there will be a time to submit an ORIGINAL Idea (dealing with trains), its going to be now. https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/blog I really like the idea someone mentioned of developing a hobby train like Ideas set.
  9. If there was a magic " Trap" that made us like movies; than Disney would have also used it on Pirates 4, Tron 2, The Lone Ranger, and John Carter; and because of the "Trap" we would have loved those films. I see nothing about subjectively choosing to enjoy a movie as equaling being trapped (knowing full well that my admission ticket goes to the pocket books of the film makers). Besides if any one should complain about a Star Wars film undeservingly taking their money, it should have been those sucked into the hype machine for Phantom Menace (Which in many ways also clones elements of A New Hope (Tatoinne, mentor dies, inexperienced pilot blows up battle station, ect.)). The Force Awakens did clone a lot of elements, but stands well on its own characters, and deserves the money it makes.
  10. If anything those photos prove how HUGE Lego's manufacturing business is. If they can throw a way a few hundred sets without a second glance, it is because that loss can't compare to the income obtained by 1000's of sold sets. I used to work on a treadmill factory line. One faulty treadmill would require remanufacturing, which meant we had to place it on the conveyor belt and rebuild it. The loss of time doubled the production cost of the treadmill, because every broken treadmill we worked on meant one less new treadmill we could build. The only reason we repaired broken units was due to their high cost. In comparison to a treadmill, one broken Lego set would look like cheap change; and the loss TLG would incur to repair it would not be profitable compared to just scrapping it and manufacturing new sets.
  11. Are they just the boxes? Maybe the bricks have been removed.
  12. Detective's Office, Snowspeeder Microfighter, Emerald Express. Then with money my grandparents gave me I bought Wall-E. I think I will be getting some more money soon, so I'll try and hunt down Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder.
  13. Saw it the third time today, theater was jam packed seeing it was a 1:00pm showing in a small town in Utah. Disney now owns all of our pocketbooks
  14. Yeah Lone Ranger was the LAST steam train Lego has released (Glad I picked it up while I could). Should Eurobricks establish a registry of every quality train project on Lego Ideas? (Like the DB unit and the tram mentioned earlier, or the Golden Spike centennial) Can we as a community push to get at least one through? I remember the effort people put to vote for the modular Western Town on Cuusoo, and although it was not made it hit 10,000 votes. What is the worse that can happen, Lego tells us a train on Ideas conflicts with an upcoming release?
  15. I think you need a reverse polarity switch to allow the two motors to run in tandem.
  16. More free bricks then :) I built Wall-E last night. The service pack's instructions were placed directly above the rest of the sets bricks, along with the extra bag of bricks. So with that all the pieces needed to build Wall-E the original way are still intact in the set itself, along with the service pack.
  17. Just bought one today, I haven't opened it yet; but it has 3 pieces of tape which is what FBTB indicated was the post recall issue. I am excited to build it when I get home tonight!!
  18. ^ I like the idea someone mentioned that Lego themes inherently have "ratings." City being a G rating, Ninjago and Ultra Agents more in a PG, and Bionicle, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and other themes as PG-13. Despite being a gun owner myself; I don't bat an eye at Lego City lacking weapons, it fits the rating. For example I would be shocked to see an armed Police officer on Sesame Street, and shocked to see an unarmed one in Batman's Gotham City.
  19. You have read the Minecraft boxes right? That is exactly what they say :) I think Luke in exile should be easy to MOC, but I'd love an official one.
  20. Hmmm.. Never before had seen a SW1500 with a curved cab roof. The more you know I guess! :) Glad to hear that all 3 are still around, I wonder if NASA will buy new switchers when the next manned flight program starts.
  21. After seeing all the reviews, and then looking at some other Lego products coming out (Star Wars, Marvel); I feel Umarak is the only great set of this first 2016 Bionicle Wave. I'll get him, and then save my money for The Force Awakens and Civil War stuff I want more. Then when money comes around Kopaka, Tahu, and Gali might be my following Bionicle sets. Edit; Oops just relieved this was the story topic... Well the Lego Club pictures down below look interesting.
  22. Nice looking unit. Isn't it a SW-1200 locomotive? I wonder if NASA still uses it without any shuttle launches right now.
  23. Gahhh!! Here is hoping a licensed theme comes with a train set, or that the Expert Trains get revived soon...
  24. Set Accuracy: X-Wing= Other than a few small issues, spot on. Tie Fighter= Spot on Rey's Speeder= A bit to big, but pretty close Snowspeeder= Rarely seen, but I recognized it once it showed up. Kylo Ren's Shuttle= Yeah the wind issue and the color issue are very noted: Stormtrooper Transport= Very close, features prominently in the opening scene too! Millennium Falcon= Spot on All in all a much better selection than Iron Man v.s, The Flaming Golf Cart of DOOM!
