*Glee* I loved that book. Those MOCs capture it perfectly.

Your sentance translated fine I'm not entirely happy with the front section myself, it is a far departure from my usual style and building methods, in comparison to the Green Blast the cockpit looks a little off paired with that front. I might do something about it when I get an idea what to do with the front as I built the wings and cockpit before I came unstuck and slapped a "new" style of front onto the body. Once I work out where to go from there I may make some minor cosmetic changes as I do like the current base style. Thanks for the helpful suggestions and compliments

I forgot to mention her (my mum's) cassarole and dumplings. Oh so good. Yes it is rather "heavy" but certainly filling and warm. Once we get to summer it gets lighter, lots of pasta dishes, nice things with rice but still a good roast as family dinner once a week. Toad in the Hole is good too, but we don't have it often as it isn't popular with all my family (of nine people we have: a vegetarian, a small child who will only eat sandwich ham and mini frankfurters, a fussy one who wont eat anything with gravy on and a child who would have a sandwich instead of tea so he can go out and play, and one small one who will refuse tea to stretch a few more minutes playing lego in the loft or on the computer....) so tea is a fun affair in my house. Oh, I'm so hungry now.

Conventions are fun. I went to Memrobilia in Birmingham (UK) on saturday. We saw one disturbingly good crossplayer dressed as a Death Note character (which I am not familiar with). Conventions are fun, even more fun in cosplay. I have cosplayed as Rinoa (FFVIII), Tifa (FFVII Game outifit) several steampunk outfits a dieselpunk outfit and a postapocalyptic (ish) outfit. There are some pictures on the net but I am not sure if I can link them in (will investigate later). I always get a few compliments and photo requests and when I'm a specific character people will recognise me. Me and my friends go to about three or four cons a year in Bristol, London and now Birmingham. This year we are missing the May trip to London due to money and the general "going downhill" of the convention, plus Bristol Comics is in May for which we are dressing as Batman characters, in October we go to the MCM Expo London and this year we are The Endless (from Sandman) Death, Delirium and Destiny. Plus we sometimes cosplay when we go to cities to shop which goes down well with the real non-conformists (if not the fake ones) and small kids seem impressed by costumes. I love the atmosphere at cons, not to mention the goodies. I would love for there to be some lego related ones that I could find out about in time and get to.

My Mum's corned beef hash with baked beans, her fish pie, her cottage pie. A full roast dinner with lamb, boiled potatos, mashed potatos, cabbage, broccoli, yorkshire puddings, gravey and mint sauce. Pasta Bake (bacon or tuna with penne, juicy chopped tomatoes and cheese all baked up, mmmm) a good steak and ale pie. Roast Pork and stuffing sandwiches or baps. If I'm in a lazy or comfort food mood it has to be corned beef smothered in beans, chips in curry sauce or pizza with steak, onions and mushrooms. Gosh, I'm hungry now. Plus really glad that my mum is an epic cook.

Secret lego fans
Peppermint_M replied to Melbourne pirate fan '87's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Me too! It was the first project I did, I made a generic lego brick with my initials in as my Logo for a logo project and later for a mock up of a board game My teacher thought it very clever anyway. -
Secret lego fans

My mum bought me duplo from the age I was old enough to use it and moved onto system when I was of an age she could trust me not to choke on it. When I was around fifteen my Lego moved from my room to the loft for space but I still played, money was always a bit of a problem but Lego was always my gift of choice, I can't name a year when I didn't buy at least three sets (summer holiday, staying at my Nan’s house and Easter holidays). When I got to about 18 my Mum wondered aloud about me still buying Lego and playing with it but since I got a job and a wage it isn't a problem, as long as I keep saving some and paying housekeeping. At school... Well, I was bullied and ignored in equal measure already, pre-dating "too old" for Lego age so no one noticed or took enough interest to know. When I was in sixth form (college, year 12 and 13 or the years you go to extra between 16 and 18 after GCSE, for those not familiar with the concept) I re-made some friends and made new ones who didn't care that I was into Lego, and my peers weren't so bothered either. I put Lego on my CV as one of my hobbies (four jobs I have applied for, Prototype maker, Aircraft Mechanic and Architect, Civil Engineer) and always mentioned it in interview as why I was good at solving mechanical problems and working things out in "real" terms. Never fear those who mock you, words can hurt worse than sticks and stones but they inevitably come from the mouths of intolerant fools. As for family, take them up on their hobbies if they keep on at you. See if anything about their interests can be picked at. -
Here is the new and improved Green Blast! renamed the Green Bolt. I can build my style of fighters in anything from half an hour to three hours, so when I have an idea I build. So there we are.

Link to MOCpages Well, when I want to build something I go and I build it. I finished this not half an hour ago and I'm rather pleased with how I have improved in my building in the last two years. As I mentioned in another topic I was planning on making a Green Blast! mark II, but this ship is so different that I decided to rename it. From the MOCpages page: The citizens of the Amaterasu system really believe the mantra: Reduce, Re-use, Recycle. Every broken ship, every scrap mecha and any rubbished metal gets turned into something new. When the Green Blast was destroyed (much to Ray’s despair) it was reborn as the Green Bolt, faster, more manoeuvrable and with better fire power. Now the invading mechanoids don’t stand a chance. Since I built the Green Blast Lego created a new shade of green that became much more available than other green bricks so I decided to create a new space fighter in a new style, moving the engine pods to the wings and changing the front. The dark green came from Exo Force and Indiana Jones sets. End. I might tweak it some more, but I have a few other older MOCs to spruce up first.

The windscreen might raise it higher than the back, or it may be the dodgy angle i take photos in sometimes. I will have to check later.

Why thank you I also realised that I forgot to mention ace pilot Ray Foster (I did mention the large amount of Robotech... all of the Macross saga in one sitting...) A picture and link for the benefit of those who don't like trawling through the net.

That is huge! Really cool, I'll have to send a link to my 40k playing friend. What sort of joint system are you using? All I can build with is the ball and socket and friction pegs from exo force.

V-LV-19E Picture is link to MOCpages There we go, new and improved sports car

Picture is link to MOCpages Before I joined Eurobricks (over two years ago... gosh that is a long time) I created a selection of space/jet fighters (Robotech Marathons can do that to you ) Since then Lego has created and made more availiable other shades of green so I am going to take apart this jet and make the MkII soon. I refreshed the pictures today so I thought why not post the MOC here for others too see and compare to the soon to be built mark two. Also it comes into line with recent pro green propaganda.

You mean like a double socket tube-like brick with no stud? That would be cool. I also think a cheese slope with a stud instead of a socket would be a good addition (to match the inverted slopes)
-
I use those in vintage and steampunk/dieselpunk MOCs so a modern day car ended up like that. I based the design off those of the Speed Racer cars and the scaling minifig to person so it sort of works. I'll post the new pictures tommorow.

Sadly Lego don't hold a lot of patents on the functional design of the brick (like some more "transparent" companies do) so they can't give us sneak peaks over the interwebs or let us look at the innner workings for fear a rival will produce a clone or near clone of a product. It would be very cool if they could do this with sets and themes after they are a well known addition to the Lego range.

White Welsh. Thats what we tick on the census.

Sausage Factory sounds fainty vulgar (as a title anyway)

Another thought occurs. Maybe the enviroment it is stored in can have an affect, pH of the atmosphere or humidity. You natural pH (the acidity/alkaline leve of your sweat) could also have an effect. I can do science me!

I got a virus warning so I clicked "get me out of here" and was sent to the firefox homescreen. Not going to try again (Conficker lurks, stalking the net. Im glad I have an updated antivirus)

Right, here is my new plan: Build back end to about three columns down from the back, inside and outside. This means I use less lego to build it, I don't need to spend so much and all the complicated front that I only have one reference picture for. This also means that the roof and upper story isn't included (further complicating matters). One end allows me to replicate the sections I have plenty of images of, I can guess the external detail using pictures from buildings of a similar type and it lets me have the parts I need to replicate scenes. An added bonus is that this takes up minimal space Ironicly this is what I wanted to do in the first place until I got a little carried away...

If you have a sticker missing and the sheet was folded in the box, maybe it came off in the box? (This happened to me once) It can stick to the bags or the inside of the box. Just a little heads up anyway. Cool review, I've never been fond of the micro scale cars but they do look rather spiffy.

I made some changes last night. I took the advice of many and have added lights, a grill and alarm lights. I got rid of the inverted slopes and I'm wondering what to try to it next. I did try to base my changes on cars from some (very old) Autotrader books but once again nothing specific. EDIT: I have added wing mirrors and altered the hight of the windscreen (to fit the wing mirrors in) plus the added hight allowed me to put a dial plate without looking too naff. I'm looking for some parts to try to make it look even better.
