*envy* I wish I had a room to myself and my Lego. (Current: Share with three ~messy~ people, sleep on sofa ~snoring sibling~ and a small amount of Loft space for Lego) At the moment my storage is a mess of boxes of varying sizes a chest of drawers and a large wooden board for a WIP large MOC. The joke is that when I move out I'll need to get a two bedroom flat to havespace for all my toys. My Billy bookcase holds some of my books, DVDs and my favourite MOCs. They have space for extra shelves and cost around £10 for the cheapest unit.

I used to have them all assembled and stored in bowls (that is how I was able to sort them so quickly) but I found that they took up more space where it is premium and too display them would take up waay more space than I have (also it may be too much temptation for my brother), I have three Glis boxes from Ikea and they stack neatly in the same space one bowl of figures (I have about 300 or so) fitted. Now I have my newest and favourites assembled for MOCing and display. BTW, Thanks for the advice, come the summer I shall be sorting bricks by colour and then type

I have only ever found hinge loosening to be a problem making the legs unuseable (unless the figure is sat in a chair) and some heel snapping. You also could have warned us about all the butt pics in the topic title...

You have more patience than me! I have just begun my deconstruction of older MOCs and bought sets. I have a dreadful habit of tacking some sets apart a bit for a MOC and then leaving the rest until I am knee deep in Lego... I have just finished sorting my minifigs (torsos in Castle, Town/Normal, SF, Adventurer/Steampunk, Unprinted and Misc. Legs by Printed, Plain and Different colour Hips and heads by alien, yellow and flesh tone.) Took ages, now I have a box full of unsorted Lego a box with partialy deconstructed sets and MOCs and strewn about my sorting boxes... Gah, I have too many deadlines to sort it out at the moment but it grates on my inner filing monkey. At least some people are super organised to make up for us rummage and see Lego owners

First: *envy* I have to go to uni on Monday ¬¬ Secondly: I have never seen them in Legoland Windsor and I have been there every year for at least the past five years. Sorry. All I have ever obtained is a gold panning medal, a Lewa trans neon yellow mask and a cardboard driving school card (sans picture). So if it is a new promotion you might get one but I have never seen one before in the wild.

How many ways to use the BOOM Box piece?
Peppermint_M replied to Izzy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Retro Robot console panel. Zeerust Spaceship. Really any kind of zeerust scene/ MOC I have no photos as I have never been 100% pleased with the MOCs (hard to make round enough). -
Hello. Just be careful, many things could be a trap... Have fun

Early pictures of 2009 summer sets

I think the orange is cool, with a set of custom stickers, the RAC can help the broken down drivers of Lego Town! A yellow one would be cool for an AA tow truck and there is a local company operating in my area who are green and white with red safety stripes. I suppose downloading the instructions and buying the parts in a colour variation would be a good way to populate your town with towing and roadside rescue companies -
The Theme you most want to Be in.
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Cool ideas I was using yesterday (after doing some uni work, blech) as a chance to go and play with my lego for hours on end (I love days off) and did some more work on my Agents/Alpha Team fusion, including an updated Ogel (He has a trans neon yellow hook now!) Goons (I have used the red eyed skulls) and pooling all my Alpha Team uniforms and characters with my Agents to ensure no double characters and make some new recruits for both themes, I did the same for my Inferno henchmen too so it was very fun. It's fun to know each others personal "theme" and that we still make them up even though we are not small kids (apparently only writers and children are allowed to make up fantasy worlds... or so one sad person told me once). -
Rediscover the bustling streets of Classic Town CONTEST
Peppermint_M replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Town
I think I'll go to my grandma's and avail myself of my uncle's old lego to enter this (I won't pinch or add any elements to/from my collection) thus it will all be pure classic town bricks, baseplates and figures and a lovely chance to chat with my grandman again. I think I built an undertakers when I was there once (I was a morbid child 'kay) and she still has some rather battered instructions for a petrol station. This will be fun -
It's Eddie Izzard. B-Movies and Vampires dubbed over a Lego animation. The vampires that can go out in daylight are mentioned about two minutes in. Sorry if you don't get it or don't find him funny *shrug* I just thought it would be funny to re-dub Twilight to reflect that the vampires go out in sunlight and therefore everytime the vampires open their mouths to speak slushy dialogue a rasberry noise is made instead.

The Theme you most want to Be in.

So does anyone else make up their own theme? I know a few people like to MOC a few custom theme creations but loads of MOCs seem to be set in a specific and established theme. As I said before, I made up a theme combining my favourites of SF and Adventurers. Plus nowadays I MOC an Agents/Alpha team hybrid or an SF theme that evolves and changes with every new idea I have. Seems many here are content to express themseleves only within boundaries. -
Do you keep your Lego Boxes?
Peppermint_M replied to RememberTheLittleGuy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I throw the boxes out after a while, some after a long time others as a matter of course. We aren't allowed to put large boxes in the regular bins, so I save a pile and then we tack them to the recycling center or Ikea's cardboard dump, depending when we need to (ie, when going to Ikea we take the large boxes if we have any, but if we have loads of boxes and aren't going to Ikea we go to the tip). -
Green Mining Machine Great Rock Raider Redux, I love it I really like updating older Lego sets using new parts and techniques.

The bags are similar to a ziplock and are about the size of a LP cover in surface area. You can pretty much stuff it full. I was surprised to find that everything i needed and wanted was ony about £3, sadly the minifig parts are not in boxes, you have to pick them at the till.

Yay, faith restored etcetera. No, I have not been at the rum again (ok, so I'm getting my pirate on now, but not when I started the topic) my brother was talking about his character and all his cool stuff and how cool it would be to live it for real instead of playing pretend. So I wondered if anyone else did anything similar. So yes, its cool to know I'm not the only one odd dream and fantasy land style . -
Hello. Have fun discovering all the new lego, the things you missed and the things to come. As for customising I know I get plenty of inspiration here so I'm sure you'll get back into it quickly . Have fun and beware of the Walrus.(/joke )

The Theme you most want to Be in.
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sorry. I was just wondering if anyone as now or as a child played with their lego with made up characters, if their sigfig goes in one specific theme LEGO made or their own original made up one. I'd just noticed that as everyone has a sigfig they must have had one as a child to play in their make believe adventures and they must include their's in a certain themes MOC now, even if they don't play the same way they did when they were young. I know I did and so does my little brother, just wanted to know the sort of adventures they had in legoworld as a child mine explored the stars my brother's goes on expiditions with Indiana Jones. As for the "dream" it was more than likey because I read The Borrowers and another book where the charcter went on some sort of quest with his toys at night and thought it would be cool to be the same size as my toys to play with them and interact with them in a similar way. But hey, no one seems to care, so if a mod cares to lock this and let it die before its warped into a discussion of adolescent x-rated fantasy, could they? /sigh -
If you can even get to a PAB wall. The only one I get is once a year in Legoland and they have bags (so I have to parctice restraint or I will be stuffing it full and spending £5 per 1kg.... that could end up a lot). I wish they would put a PAB in Bristol or Cardiff.

Ok, we all do it, every single one of us has a sigfig or a character figure that we overlay our personality upon. So my question is this: Which theme (or sub-theme) of Lego have you or did you wish/pretend you lived in? Whether now, in which your sigfig sits in those theme MOCs or as a child when your self insert character saved the day (or did the naughty deeds) in your giant mess of a Lego playtime. As a child my self figures did everything, but the "theme" that I played most was a mix of Adventurers and Space in which space archeologists explored the stars. Now my sigfig is firmly in the SF of space jet and mecha piloting and has also had a promotion from Captain to Major . So how about you? Also, did anyone else have those dreams where you shrank to the size of a lego figure and had a great time playing in you models with your (now alive) minifigures? or was it just me?

part way through this is a "daylight" vampire. Someone should dub the entire Twilight film with all the vampires making the right sound everytime their mouth opens.

What Does Your April Fool Do For A Living VOTING!
Peppermint_M replied to Shadows's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Dude.... It's still sinking in. I got most confused (serves me right skipping to the last page and missing the last few posts on the fourth page) when people were congratulating me. For once mathematics was on my side Im surprised mine won because I think everyones else's were better but that is chaos theory for you. Thank you everyone *pleased* -
To Minifig, or not to Minifig...
Peppermint_M replied to k_peek_2000's topic in General LEGO Discussion
A bit of both. I'm not much of a fan of the creator and mini racers, most likely because they don't have minifigs but then again I do get fed up of my multiple character figures. The way I decide what to buy next is a: Do I have this minifig already? or b: Do I need the parts? So I have plenty of Exo-Force Lego because I wanted the parts and the minifigs came as an extra bonus but then I bought the Power Miners under £10 sets purely for Rock Monsters and the minifig parts. On ebay I bought a pile of Insectiod minifigs but I won't buy a set with missing figures. I have lots of minifigures and until recently I had them all assembled but changed my mind and now I am in the process of sorting them into head, torso, legs and accessories to make my own customs and all except my favourite figures (the best of the Exo-Force figures and all my alpha team and agents figures) are staying in one piece. -
Peppermint-EMM so there we go, now you know.
