  1. Don't go there! I manage to be good for ages (to a given value of good) and not buy things. Then I get a £30 Zoid, a £20 anime figure set and an armful of Graphic Novels... Then I buy lego on top, merely because it is in the shop or I have hit a mental creativity block and want to build something...
  2. Inferno clones himself to live on. What baddie wouldn't? (Just a pet theory of mine, mainly to explain away my extra Inferno figure as I have both sets he came in. A clone chamber/lab is a section I plan to add to my Inferno HQ). Price is no problem for me! Just as long as I have a chance to get the old sets before the noew come out!
  3. Ok, so I have a £15 off voucher for TRU, what should I get? Should I go for a set that is going to be free? A few sets that come close to £15? Or use it to get a big set for £15 less? For that matter what should I get?
  4. It is just an opinion greatly jaded by too many fanboys and ignored MOCs on MOCpages, plus the fact that said franchise and myself existed in this happy state where I knew it was there and appreciated it as a decent SF story with some prequel issues and it wasn't constantly there and affecting my interaction with my hobbies and likes. Then I came upon the internet and the denziens therin... It has pushed me into a position where I am sick to the back teeth of it and irritated that SF creativity is strangled by those who don't want innovation they want Jedi V Sith or Clones V Droids or what have you. So yeah. Hype Backlash on my part.
  5. Wow, that was fast. I plan on changing the arm and leg joints a bit using the ball and socket joints from the clone gunship (or whatever its called) and make it a bit more accurate, smoothing some edges and such, just making a nice big wishlist on bricklink in hope I find a shop that has enough parts i need to justify postage costs.
  6. "Mr Batou! We're made from Lego!" I made a Tachikoma myself (on my MOCpages somewhere) and those miniscale ones are wonderful! I need to get some more parts to make a better one as there are new and useful elements out to make it look much better. Once Again, those are fantastic.
  7. QFT Plus, Star Wars isn't an evergreen its a perennial weed sadly kept in the media spotlight by endless "quels" (Pre, Se and Mid) being thrown at us from all corners
  8. I want a Morgan There is a dealership near where I work, plus I work in a more "posh" area and see lots of them about. They look lovely.

    Swine Flu

It's called Swine Flu because as far as anyone knows (knew?) it was a sort of influenza common in pigs that mutated after being caught by a person. The media are wipping up a frenzy, my friend is in panic attack mode (he lives in the town where one of the 5 UK cases is) and everone is "worried". I don't see all the fuss because the 'flu can't kill you if you are young and healthy (not being xenephobic but in Mexico the general level of health is far from perfect) it is the secondary infections that do it. So if you do get swine 'flu (or any other true 'flu, not just an exaggerated cold) then its the pnumonia that can kill you if you don't get on top of it. 'Flu opens the metaphorical door to other viral infections that are worse, like pnumonia or bronchitus, and they are the ones that are really bad, pnumonia can kill 'flu or not. If you get any sort of 'flu you should stay in bed/inside to avoid infecting others or exposing yourself to the cold and any nasty viral bugs that will take advantage of your condition, then if things take a drastic turn for the worse let a Doctor know just incase you do have some form of secondary infection, and do it quick because pnumonia can sit with you for weeks or simply cause you to drop dead (not to make you a panic or anything). On that note I must also mention that face masks (funny white things) are not that useful as Doctors have said, it probably has more of a placebo effect to stop people panicing and staying indoors all the time during such health scares. Dr Peppermint knows things about wildly random subjects (For legal purposes I am not a Doctor, just someone who learns lots of useless things, information sticks to me, even if it is far from useful )
  10. My standard answer will always be: Anything But Star Wars . It isn't creative enough, its more expensive than regular themes and some of the construction leaves a lot to be desired. When a theme starts to repeat (releasing the same craft with minimal difference to the first one without a gap of years where said theme was unavailable) and when it costs so much I don't like it. Pirates isn't my favourite theme (Agents is), I have bought a few sets, but I am waiting for a smaller ship as Pirates were my favourite thing when I was small and yes I find it better than Star Wars for its Not Star Wars-ness but I like pirates more than an SF that sadly permeated the whole genre so as to come to a point were fanbois and those who don't know any better accuse older works of "ripping it off" (All my favourite SF is pre 1970s dontcha' know) but that is just me and my opinion. I think I established before that I am Not a Star Wars fan, in earlier topics plus my limited entry to the Star Wars section of this site (I say limited because my friend loves Star Wars and every once in a while the set pictures topic comes up and I link him the new images).
  11. Filled it in, added my own suggestions. I like these surveys but the add an option ends up making a mess of things.
  12. Um, Tiffany is in the Discworld. The Chalk is part of the Disc, hence Granny Weatherwax mentoring her, the staying with Nanny Ogg bit, the fact that in every book the Witches of Lancre turn up.... It's one of the younger reader books set upon the discworld, so I guess from that point of view it isn't "proper discworld" but not one fan I have ever met claims it isn't part of the Discworld. The Amazing Maurice and his Educated rodents is also Discworld, he had a mention in Reaper Man. All the "series" that make up the Discworld novels are set on the Disc and interact with creating the discworld series proper, if Tiffany and the Wee Free Men aren't Discworld, then from the same extrapolation The Watch, The Witches, Moist von Lipwig, Death, Susan and Rincewind (plus all the "one shot" stories) are not. Bit confused to the reasoning there...

    Blasphemy!

My sister drew on quite a few blank minifig heads so she could have more girls to play with (for an age, Jet and plain smiley with girly hair was all we had to work with) unfortunatly the only way she deemed correct was to "rough up" the plastic with emery paper, thus it is irreversable. She also made princess legs by drawing flowery vine patterns up some plain legs and glitter nail varnishing them... I am guilty of a few permi pen and parcel sticker decorations.
  14. Slimeface with hair? After all we have only seen him before with a helmet on and Lego are well known for including a helmet but even if the character has hair in other sets, any set it wears a hat or helmet in means no hair. Also: Inferno might be partial to a little cloning, maybe Slimeface was an early experiment?
  15. I'm making a giant Volcano HQ for Dr Inferno, with lots of cool little features. Then I'm making a Skybase/Valiant style flying HQ for the Agents. Along the way a mecha for the Agents and a redux of an Alpha Team helicopter shall be created and maybe some remnants of Ogel. Then there is my long term plan of an SF story told in Lego that needs more time and work. I'm saving brown and orange bricks for my volcano, collecting BURPs and planning, so my Volcano is moving along well. The rest is not on the agenda for a while.
  16. It depends. If i think i have spent too much all together i go a month with no credit card purchases, I always pay it off right away, but if i pass the £150 mark in a "normal" month (no special exceptions have occured) otherwise I don't stop buying other things. I just bought a costume, next few weeks I will be getting a load of lego and going to a comic con, so june shall be a no credit card month if i go to far. It is a pattern designed to keep me out of trouble.
  17. Never would have imagined it could but i noticed the shape matched. Now all I have to make is a decent craft for him...
  18. No luck with that I am afraid, I found the others cheap in bookshops but the Map and Death's Domain may have been published before I was into Discworld and more than likely too young to boot.
  19. Heard of it ages ago can't wait! I just hope the UK release is anywhere near the US date because Coraline (by the same studio) still isn't out here even though it was in theaters in the US months ago. I love post-apocalyptic (I just think it's done to death in Lego) and 9 is looking to be beautiful.
  20. You forgot Death and Susan and Tiffany Acheing and the Wee Free Men in series plus the "stand alone" books are just as good, oh and The Last Hero counts as a Rincewind book. Soul Music, Hogfather and Thief of Time are my three favourite books Sir Terry wrote. My favourite series are the Death and Susan books. Soul Music was the first I read, Hogfather is very funny and Thief of Time brilliantly written. I like all of the books and I have most of the Discworld books, Good Omens, all the Johnny Maxwell books plus some supplemental material including the Unseen University Challenge, The Art of the Discworld, Nanny Ogg's Cookbook (technicly my Mum's) and the updated Discworld Companion.
  21. What does Mutt's bike look like? That is the only Indy set that I am intrested in this year, all due to the bike
  22. Ta daa. Having sorted out all my minifig parts I can once again make random custom figures. Playing around I found that the the fedora can fit over the breathing mask and thus made a space cowboy (in the Cowboy Bebop sense of the term). The background is from my Terran Trade Authority Handbook.
  23. Sadly never had a chance. If there was more excuses in school for it I probaby would have.
  24. Brandless for me Lidle and Aldi have them every now and then so I'll pick them up if they are cheap and i need them.
  25. Might I possibly have a sig fig picture drawn? It is my avatar and I can post/link better pic if needs be.
