  1. They are selling the Halo stuff here in the UK? I would like some of the parts... I can put the bricks into my Blok box and the weapons into my collection!
  2. I have started sorting smaller parts into bead boxes, studs/clips etc. I have also sorted some minifig stuff by "theme-ish" sets, so I have a box of 'historic' torsos, accessories and headgear. I have one with SF parts and a box of Town gear. Heads get sorted in 'Alien', Flesh and Yellow stacked by type. I would like to sort more parts and sort stuff with more subdivisions, but I haven't the space. I am going to sort by colour for most, I have also realised I need bigger containers for certain elements as I have more than I realised after I started sorting... I also have two boxes of random parts that are for two large MOC projects.
  3. Oh wow, those sort of things are great! I forgot there would be images on the website! Let me know what sort of re-sizing they'd need and I can print 'em off for my build later in the week I'll have to make a computerbug for the HQ
  4. I want to build one based on Pontypool Library, my local Library, a lovely Victorian building next to the park.
  5. One is a Men In Black clone by MegaBloks "Aliens" (the guy in shades) on a Dragons body, the rest are a mix of minifig parts and MB parts mixed colours and head from different Dragon factions. My little brother has a big box of Dragons stuff, so I have seen those guys before. If they came with tools, they are cool.
  6. Awesome. I have been looking at the printed tiles made by Lego and only about five or ten are going to be useful too me, and then I realised I didn't have a single picture right for the screens in the command room! Can't wait to see them
  7. I need to make sitckers that I can use as the camera feeds to the command room... I'm just a bit rubbish at designing my own.
  8. Well, he did mention he is an engineer (and I am training to be one) and poured Concrete needs agitation with a vibrating device. But then that might not have been the context in which Kanto suggested such a device... Oh, and for set designs I would love to design a town Library for Market street.
  9. Well, once I get home from Canada (I get back to London on Friday) I will be starting my Inferno HQ. I have decided that I will begin by building each of the sections and then building the shell around them. The command center is the first to try, as I have everything I need to create it in my collection at home. For those sections that are not buildable with my current stocks, I shall mock up in whatever colours I have and then work out any kinks before buying the parts. Would it be a good idea if I buy a second Mission 8 for all the parts, or would I be better of just getting a big bag of brown bricks? I also have a small request: As you can see Inferno has a number of screens behind his desk. Would anyone be able to design images to go on the screens? I want them to fit a 2x2 tile, I need at least six, maybe more once I have built it. They can be graphs or readouts, CCTV of crimes, images of random chaos, spying on the Agents and whatever else a super villian has on his umpteen screens. If anyone wants to make some I will certainly use them, I'll just need warning if I need to resize them. EDIT: I also need suggestions for heads to use on Inferno grunts/goons they can be any sort of head as long as they look good with orange.
  10. There should be some sort of "lift off" craft, a 'copter or some other such item for evacuation as I always was under the impression that they were at the base of a deep chasm or something, so a 'copter for quick escape would be cool.
  11. I have only ever taken legs from hips once. For my sigfig. I don't like doing it, I worry about causing damage to such an assembly. The arms/hands/torso are easy to take apart and fix together. I take great care and so far only the really old ones that I was given in poor condition are loose/broken.
  12. Oh, I think I must add this: I do not make mixed media MOCs, apart from using tools or some special elements from clone brands. I make MOCs out of clones and I make MOCs out of Lego, the two rarely mix, unless I have need of one black 2x1 plate to finish a MOC and the only one I can find is non-Lego, unless it is cosmetic. I suppose I don't like to mix because there are some subtle and some not so subtle differences between the two, the colour is lighter or the bricks don't combine well with each other. The only clone that is a perfect match was Tyco, and so far I have only found two bricks in my entire collection. Plus I like to enter contests and there would be a risk if expulsion or penalisation for accidentaly using a clone, so I don't make a habit of mixing brands. This doesn't stop me planning and creating MOCs out of non-Lego , however there isn't really a place I can post pictures and information about the MOCs (apart from flikr, but I don't want to use it for varying reasons that are off topic). I still equip my Minifigs using clones, I have seen minifigs equipped with Brickarms and Brickforge products (I would love some, but they are pricey!) and I have seen minifigs equipped using Best-Lock and other non-Lego (one or two even in promotional pictures on Brickarms!) and I will continue to do so.
  13. Sorry old chap, I'm out in Canada this week and tried to access iPlayer in readieness for Top Gear, tells me I can't do it as I am not in Blighty. So, is there anyway of viewing Top Gear without opening my computer to risk, or shall I wait for my return home later in the week and just watch it then?
  14. Oh my, I forgot all about Supermarionation! Captain Scarlet, Stingray, Theunderbirds! I loves those series so much! The new Captain Scarlet was fantastic and I love to watch the old Thunderbirds (there was never any films, apart from a great 3D digital rendering of Thuderbird 2). I also need to add claymation to the list, Creature Comforts and Wallace and Gromit are great. There is also a stack of the nostalgia toons, The Hurricanes, the 90s Speed Racer, The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest, Toxic Crusaders, Captain Bucky O'Hare. They don't make 'em like they used to.
  15. I find Chase's cars too chunky and bulky to fit into the super spy aesthetic, but it is purely IMO. My plans for the 4x4 starts with smaller wheels and a lower chassis (but not too low, it has to have good ground clearance) and will get more detailed after I buy the set. I suppose I have gone past the stage of needing the set to have a "wow" factor that makes me want to simply play with it on it's own. I evaluate the sets on their parts and how much they stoke my creativity.
  16. Arg, I have to buy some new Agents lego, still waiting for next month to make my massive order of: Robo Attack, Gold Tooth's Getaway, River Hiest and 4-Wheeling Persuit. Why those four you ask? Robo Attack has to be the best set of 2.0 and is certainly my favourite. Gold Tooth's Getaway is one of those great small Lego sets with plenty to do and to modify. River Hiest has two of the coolest baddies in the theme. 4-Wheeling Persuit is this theme's Mod-Fodder for me, The designers just can't seem to make a car for Chase that I like...
  17. We'd never have guessed... I have really got to start getting it together on my custom minifigs of characters, some will be so simple to make, all I need are the right parts...
  18. Oh dear... Ok, so that is bad.
  19. Now, that seems slightly confusing. I wonder what retailers will do about the old Mega Brands products when the Lego sets come out? People are not as quick to buy Mega Brands over Lego at Duplo size, the giant bricks are popilar but the smaller ones are not as good as the Lego. I was still finding megablocks Cars in Woolworths even during it's last days of trading. Brand confusion is not something retailers like (unless it is their own brand people are confusing with the popular branded product).
  20. Right, I will try and convince my uncle to let me go to TRU, so i can find gifts for my little brothers and to grab an impulse for myself Right now I am melting while waiting to go out to the lake.
  21. Yoo Hoo! Where can I find Lego? I am getting withdrawel symptoms and still have a week until I go home, I need an impulse or something . I am used to the time difference now, Kelowna is a nice place, we might be going out to the lake today, I am enjoying being in Canada, just trying to work out the small change, a bit confusing for a Brit.
  22. Sorry if my comment offended anyone, it is merely my opinion that Lego, at its heart, is a toy for children and in the end is to be enjoyed regardless. My little brother was given a massive Megablocks Dragons collection and had a fantastic time, he loved the Best-Lock motorcycle I bought him and is itching to get a McLaren Mercedes F1 car from Cobi or Megablocks. He combines the two he plays with it all and has a huge imagination. I love to play with my Lego and don't mind mixing brands in MOCs for the tools and hats that Lego doesn't make. I am planning to build BlokVille for all my non-lego to live in alongside my Lego Action City . In the end I enjoy all forms of construction toy, it just so happens that Lego is the brand I have the most of as it is higher quality and easier to get hold of. I find it somewhat a hipocrasy that those who embrace brick arms decry non-Lego. I must be a heathen. We should get a tag to warn people
  23. Menthol is a godsend when you have a blocked head. Gum, sweets or whatever, if it has menthol in your head feels a little clearer. I would also say cough sweets are great.
  24. I consider a purist to be someone overly fussy about things of, lets face it, a childs toy. I am not a purist. I use whatever I need or want to get the desired effect. In fact the quiz rates me 0.47/10 How can MOCs be impure? They are your own creation... I think it's a big fuss over nothing, tbh. I am putting my non-Lego into a different box to avoid mixing them. I buy all brands of building brick, just to see what they are like.
  25. Ok, I am really stuck. I don't want to enter sweepstakes for trainers, I am a UK resident anyway, so no chance to start with. I have found three clues but I can't find the other six. Can someone clue me in? I am on holiday so I don't have time to trawl the net for the clues, if they are even all out yet. So, what word is it, or symbols or whatever. I feel stupid...
