Hey ho. Loving the comic, I just lost my DD account when my Laptop died on me... Are you planning on incorperating the awesome new Blacktron III outfits into the story? I know they aren't even out yet, but still... My grandma has the hugest collection of Smurfs, we used to play all sorts of odd combo games with my uncle. And thus the randomness ends.

So can we get a verdict on the guns? I can't tell from boxart if they will fit right (they look ok, but they might be too wide for a MF hand) and I don't want to buy a set more than £5 if the parts aren't going to be useful.

I am watching Power Rangers RPM. I love Power Rangers, its so cheesy and funny.
-
Why do you feel dirty? Anywho. Are the guns ok for minifigs? Are the figures a similar size to minimates? What sort of colours do the bricks range in? I saw some large sets in The Entertainer in Cardiff, but they markup prices by £££s so I didn't buy any. I saw some better priced sets in Smyths (there is one near me, who knew?) but my parents were about and my father would not be impressed with the "violent content" (plus the reason for purchase being guns...) so I was unable to buy it. Who really cares if MB has a success on their hands? Lego will have to innovate and improve to keep the casual buyers interest and currency, we get the benefit of new and interesting sets created to compete instead of anything they feel like because they know we'll buy.

No worries about the landscaping, a Legoland trip in the next two/three weeks means I can PaB a whole pile of parts. I also want to change the design a little bit because I have found a cache of tan bricks in my box while sorting.

So how strong are these techniques? Still Swooshable? Application of minifigs is not a crash course in extreme dexterity? I have been using more complex techniques, but only if the end product is sturdy. How about any MOCs using the new dice element?

Thanks. I wanted limits of the MOC to be that baseplate, else I'd be stuck trying to figure out the best way to populate the MOC and how the other buildings in the area looked at the time. I was using it as a method of teaching my little brother about it (what with the curriculum changes he might never hear of it) as he likes history.

So who thinks there should be a walrus figure? They are aquatic after all, and everyone loves anthropomorphised walruses! I must own shark-man, I also must have as many diving suits as I can lay my hands on. The sets could do with more scenery (as earlier comments suggest) and maybe be paired with accessory packs (Like in the past) of seaweed and other underwater vegetation. They are of an interesting design and have piqued my interest (hmm interesting theme is interesting...) , the seeming end of Agents won't be so bad with all these other themes.

Wasn't trying to be snarky. I also think I mentioned that I don't combine clones with Lego earlier, however in repetition: I am carefully seperating the two (Apart from the most useful accessories) and do not use clones in my Lego MOCs and viceversa, the other day I made a Batmobile out of clones for my minimate Batman (C3 construction made some great sets when they were allowed to). I do have to say that I have come across some surprising things when using clones, including parts that Lego should make, colours that could be used more often and designs that use less specialised parts. Anyone who dislikes TLG's use of large moulded sections should try picking up a clone set of some sort as they are entirely made of bricks. Sorry, purism confuses me, but then I have loved building toys of all kinds for years so I am happy to try to use all of them (I seem to have settled on robot model kits and brick based free form building around twelve years ago) but not all together.

James May to build life size lego house!
Peppermint_M replied to allanp's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It would look very bad on the part of both the vineyard and Lego if it is torn down. People would cry foul about waste (heck, someone on the Daily Mail linked it to New Labour, but then again it is the Daily Mail) and other things and the vineyard would become spoil sports and TLG and Legoland as fussy or sulky for not taking the house. -
Muse's new album Bought it on the weekend, now is the first chance I have had a chance to listen to all of it. Of course I will be putting it on my walkman for full and careful listening at a later date.

The Adventures of Clutch Powers!
Peppermint_M replied to The Alchemyst's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sounds cool. I hope it does come with a set/series of sets. I will likely get it cheap in a supermarket if it doesn't. -
I like the new heat resistant outfits (as one can assume the light grey minifig bodies represent) Power Miners once again proves that I need to buy the littler sets to add valuable parts to my collection And little bro' is very impressed.

(apart from that being quoted from a rather long time ago...) I certainly did see a Sluban/OXFORD beret (a red one) on the front page, with a minifig in tan (it was either the workman's clothes from city, or the jumpsuit that the original A-Wing technician wore in when Star Wars sets still had yellow figures) this was on the front page and the slideshow of different weapons posed with minifigs. It was a while back now (it was months before I even posted that particular post) I couldn't tell you what gun it was carrying, but the head was one from the Dino 2010/Dino Attack theme, camoflage grey facepaint and the grumpy expression. I had never even heard of brickforge when I saw the pictures on the Brickarms website. So, I did see one. However, you have misunderstood my intent. I wasn't using it with negative connotations, I am a huge fan of all building toys and I adore comparing and contrasting Lego with clones (not bootlegs, those I won't touch with a bargepole accept by accident or if the theme promisses chrome parts and such) for both the accessories and brick quality. Therefore my intnent with that post: Clones are fine, if you are going to use "aftermarket products" then you can use the accessories from clones too and "Hey look, a popular website uses them too, it's a perfect combination of custom weapons and headgear manufactured by clone brands" nothing bad was intended. I still stand by the "use whatever you like" principal of building and minifig customisation.

Hey look, is that a clearer and final image of that set everyone was ripping into earlier? These all look awesome. Who is sensing a "Disney Classics" coming soon (with Little Mermaid...) what with all those new parts. I love the sea creatures and the diving gear looks great IRL. Can't wait for these to turn up in shops!

This is all very negative currently isn't it? I suppose 20 is far from adult in comparison to my many fellow members, however I (at least according to law and family et al) am "grown up" (scary thought that). I haven't lost any of my imagination, I excersize it daily. The world is full of wonder no matter how much you know about it, there is always something just over the horizon that you haven't seen yet, a taste untasted, a smell never before encountered, an experince you haven't had. I think many poeple let "adulthood" cloud them in a protective fog of sameness and mundanity. They plod in the carefully trod lines they set out years before and daren't leave the path lest danger befalls them (whether physical, social or phsycological). If you approach the world as it is, a great big globe of untried things then one's imagination runs wild. Sadly it all starts from a very young age, the hemming in of imagination and the stemming of creativity. When correcting a child the parent/teacher always starts with "No.." so growing up becomes a series of limits and barriers that we are happy to remain inside due to social conditioning. This doesn't mean I endorse the too radical ideas some have, but I prefer to live my life in wonderment and persuit of knowledge, to imagine what could be behind the fence and beyond the horizon. Play and imagination don't have an end unless you enforce one.

It is a much better piece than the Victor Crumb shark head.

I've not seen any reduced price or deals on any Lego in any shop. In fact one shop has started stocking Lego which didn't sell it before! The only time there are deals are at christmas and just after, and even that was in Woolworths ( ) and it was to shift old stock for new. If I had to say that any set failed, it would have to be anything Agents ( ) because barely anywhere stocks it. The supermarkets sell Star Wars, Power Miners, City and Creator. The other shops stock Star Wars and City/Star Wars and the Toy shops don't stock it (apart from super pricey Entertainer) so sadly it hasn't made an impact.

Ok, so now the Shark-Men FTW has worn off (they rock, now I don't need to get a Victor Crumb from bricklink!) the sets all look pretty cool. The ruins are a little small but thats ok and means they won't cost too much. The diving gear is exciting and the humaniod sea creatures a nice addition to the variety of figures Lego have produced. The tridents look cool (are you aware that so called "clone-brands" produce more detailed minifig accessories than Lego? ) and a useful part for a Neptune minifigure to boot. I like the variety in set sizes, which means that there will be a good selection of prices and a higher chance of them turning up on the highstreet and in supermarkets. The new uniforms and creature parts are always welcome. My theory of the three year rule seems to be correct too. It's nice too see that there will be a creative Lego own theme next year (apart from the usual city sets) what with all the lisenced themes next year.

I am converted to Blu-Ray, I just need to get a player... I was certainly impressed with the differences (there are noticable ones when you see something in HD that you have watched 1000 times before in regular quality) What really pushed me into getting it is Final Fantasy VII ACC, and quite a few great films that I love turning up re-mastered and on Blu-Ray

I was sorting bricks by colour the other day (I still am ) and noticed I had a lot of 2x4 slopes and 4x4 sloped corners in dark red. I combined them with my large wheels, a stubby barrel and some dark bley inverts to create a minitank. I added a few details and two of the dozen or so red racer creatures I own and thus a new faction in my ever expanding universe was born. With heavy weapons. I hope to build more within this faction in keeping with this first MOC.

SHARK-MEN SHARK-MEN!!!!!! SHARK MEN Ok, so I am getting this theme too (please forgive me bank balance, but I should be getting a raise soon anyway... ) next year gets better and better!

I have only added blood in one MOC (and sorry about this booger) it was "The Death of Jar Jar" subtitled: Sand Raiders are sooo woood! it was for comedic effect.

I need Muse's new album... I am listening to more Jack's Mannequin. There is something about the singer's voice and the piano that hooks me in.

We had a poster of impossible geometric shapes in my year 7 maths classroom, it fascinated me more than the mathematics! I love Escher work and other illusions. Too bad they can't be real That is a cool picture.
