Entrants only sorry. I am sure I explained that somewhere in the thread. -
"Thank you for the gold. I hope it does not bite us. This cave really does need heroes to tackle it!" Tesni examined the gold before stowing it away safely.
-
"That was certainly a lot of gold. But how the fire sword reacted... Do we trust this gift from the cave?"
-
"Shall we move on. I greatly want to try out this new blade" There was a glint in Tesni's eye and she swung Cysgodion impatiently.
-
"Yes, the new path seems like our only option." Tesni replied, looking once more around the cave, just to check.
-
Should I be concerned that a dark blade accepted me or use it an interesting new path to take my character down?
-
The dar imbued blade had accepted her, Tesni knew it was custom to name a blade, "Cysgodion." She said to the blade, holding it aloft. "It means Shadows in the old tounge." (OCC- Kys-god-ee-yon is the pronunciation I would use. Northern Welsh might differ.)
-
"No use with dead ends, past the grave would be a good path." Tesni agreed, carefully examining her new sword. It sounded elemental, a great help against the undead that probably lay beyond the site of their first battle.

If you want to, I am keeping mine as is for the month. -
Tesni greatfully accepted the sword. "Cryf is not effective against these creatures here, so it seems. This blade is indeed stronger and could be imbued with powers. She placed Cryf on her back and hefted the new blade.
-
Tesni stood up again, her rest had worked well, it was as if nothing had injured her at all. "These would be effective against the undead yes?" she asked of Ellaria. "Should weapons be dealt to improve the attack of weaker party members or to make the strongest effective against the undead?"

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
Peppermint_M replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
It's House of Fraser in Cardiff, has been used often (right from Rose). It's funny seeing familiar places. The best bit was after Blink, the ending shots were all of statues in the city. Next time we went down, I freaked out my sister's friend by claiming the statues were moving. -
Did you read the other posts? Crossmr is working on a method.

My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...

Well, that episode was ok. I guess I enjoyed it, but lets just say I fast forwarded a bit. I am more concerned that now I am going to have to take the long way around to get to the Toy Department in Howell's as my mate will now never ever enter that lift ever again . Yeah, I go to get Lego from that Toy Department. That bit was my Mum's favourite. -
Well, I have just these past few days read Thud, Guards! Guards!, Men at Arms, Feet of Clay and Jingo. Not in that exact order and not with great application, more like skimming through all but Thud and Guards! Guards! as the first directly bears on the next as the previous book in the Watch series and the other as I haven't read it in a long time. Now I am on Fifth Elephant and next I will read Nightwatch. I might also fit Making Money into all of it. Then I have to go to Cardiff to get the book from Waterstones (For Doctor Who fans, that is the branch outside the department store that featured in Closing Time.) so I can maybe get whatever freebie is to do with this book.

OOC: We are out of battle and the Barbarian trait heals me, if that is alright. Tesni winced as the poison once again made itself known alongside her other wounds cashing their IOUs, leaning against the cave wall she placed Cryf near a hand for a quick rest.

Did you read the bit where I said certain tags would be uniqe to the winners? Oky chose that Atlantis one, Brickdoctor has the Aquanauts one and now the Penguin will have a Aqua Raiders tag. These tags are awarded to them and unique to them. The Aquasharks tag (On my profile currently) Will now be availiable to anyone who entered and wants that tag. So please post in here if you want it. If you have the max number of tags already and want to replace one with another please tell me which one to switch. -

Right, sorted you two out. So now Penguin make a choice and everyone else: Let me know what if you want a tag and have under 5. -
Its good to see you back. I hope you are ok and such.
-
So, who has won one of these fabulous tags? In First place: Brickdoctor In Second place: Oky In Third place: The Penguin Gentlemen, please feel free to post within this thread your Tag preference. One of these four tags will be unique to yourself, Brickdoctor will get first choice, Oky will get to choose from the three remaining and The Pengiun can have one of the two left. Now onto the best bit, due to a few oversights on my part, certain problems occured. As such, the final tag shall be for whoever wants one. Just post interest in here after the winners have selected their reward.

Yep, read the short 'uns. Now, Fifth Elephant... Well that is a long story... When I first started to move from childhood reading to the realms of an interest that carries on until you croak (I used to read a lot of Enid Blyton, even had my own Secret Seven badge) I basicly read all around the SF and Fantasy section of the school Library (wonderful alcove that) having read a handful of Asimov and Bradbury at my Grandad's suggestion. Mark you, I was about 12 at the time. I had read throught the school's selection of Verne, Hienlein juviniles and then Anne McCaffery's SF books due to a recomendation of the librarian. Having exhausted the supply of Sci Fi I decided it was about time I moved onto the ones marked Fantasy I read all the Dragons of Pern books the library had and needed something new. The Fifth Elephant was sat out on the side, and thinking something along the lines of "I did enjoy that Fifth Element film..". Well, Fifth Elephant is deep deep deep into Discworld. It is midway into a sub series, set in a place that has been mostly set up by other books with characters founded books and books ago... To be blunt I was lost. It was hard enough to get past the artwork (at that age, gleaming towers and spaceships were more appealing to me) and I got fed up. Putting it down I decided to move off to the film books, after all, I did like those Star Wars films my friend Tom had lent me and there were books that carried on the story.(ah, the innocence of youth! If you didn't know, in the last ten years I have soured in my opinion. Prequels, expansion and my sisters star wars obsessed boyfriend put paid to all but transient interest in the films). A few months later, having got lost in a quagmire of the incomplete Star Wars book series a new Discworld book was on display. There was a Skeleton, riding a motorcycle. It talked about Rock Music with a funny name! After that I was hooked, between the school library, the town library and my holiday money I read all the books. Attaining gainful employment I began collecting the lot. However I have never really enjoyed Fifth Elephant since. Oh, don't get me wrong, it is very good and well written but I still enjoy the others more than it Sorry. I did warn it was a long story. Also it seems Guards! Guards! has either gone missing or my copy wasn't actually mine...
