  1. Is this from Amazon themselves or a seller through the site? If it is Amazon, they really should use more packaging but the damage is from being posted. The sorting machines do not handle mail gently. If it is a private seller, just don't buy from them again.
  2. Voting Closed. Stay tuned for the winners announcement.
  3. Having had a lovely walk in the mountains, enjoying a swim in a lake and good hunting, Tesni returned to the hall. As she entered she noticed the new quest, checking the options this left she grinned and signed her name under Quest 12, after all she was an experienced hero by now!
  4. No more paleontology lectures please. Yes, children will get unrealistic (to a given value of realism seeing as we can't even guess at colouration) viewpoints of what dinosaurs should look like, but then the first exposure many kids get to dinosaurs it t his: That is Gerorge the pig's (Peppa Pig's little brother) toy dinosaur in plush toy form for babies. Most pre-school age children watch Peppa Pig here in the UK, can't vouch for abroad but Barney and many muppets also feature non-realistic cartoon cuddly dinosaurs. Maybe eve Reptar... These kids do not want raging death machines and are going to be equally entranced at the museum with the realistic dinos as they would be to see a guy in a Dino mascot costume. Only the stupidist of children would be disenchanted by media representations of dinosaurs not being the same as the real thing. After all, muppets don't live next door, their friends at playgroup don't look like superdeformed cartoons, animals don't talk and rarely do trains have faces, let alone be powered by steam... So a toy company can make some pretty cool looking dinosaurs without destroying the hopes and dreams of future paleontologists. It might even get the kids into paleontology and as they mature and learn they will easily accept the true state. As for mainstrea? How long has Brontosaurus been a redundant term? Centuries? How many people still call any sort of long necked dino a Brontosaurus?
  5. Good grief. These are plastic toys for children, only the speccy kind would be bothered to have feathered dinos and as it stands even then they would much rather a Thunder Lizard to Oversized Poultry. Realism isn't TLGs watchword and I for one welcome our giant lizard overlords.
  6. When I got tired of the zealotry of the fan community and started to review the cheaper clone sets I came across in local shops. Sadly the economic woes of the nation have closed many of these budget stores and my sources have gone in the main. I have a few sat on the hard drive but I have been a little busy. Luckily, crossmr came along, with his access to Oxford bricks, the best of the compatible brands. Oxford bricks were formerly rather hard to find before he joined. So now, instead of the sort of uninformed complaining about brands you don't like. There are some objective reviews. Also, many members can now find the better brands to get parts and figure accessories that TLG does not cover.
  7. So, having bought about six more dice yesterday and spent the train journey into the city on Thursday writing, not to mention building creatures the other day... I have a more solid quest planed. However there are going to be some interesting extras. I hope I can build the rest of it soon and photoshop some stuff to shinyness.
  8. Well duh! It disappoints me not to see any pictures of the plane, that set was the one I want the most. The dinosaurs look like something to get, either on Bricklink or getting the sets once I see the box IRL.
  9. "Hurrha. This is boring!" Groaned Tesni, stretching out to work the stiffness from her limbs. She had already reduced a dozen practice posts to sawdust, swept the sawdust and replaced the posts. The map of Eubric in the library showed taller mountains to explore. Leaving word with the message mages that she would ike to know when new quests were posted, Tesni packed her bag with travel rations and left the hall.
  10. Her drink finished Tesni was in slightly more cheerful spirits. While her friends quested she would have more time to explore the island, without worry of monsters jumping out to atttack. "Ah, I will find another quest soon enough." She smiled to her friends.
  11. Oooo shinyful! Thanks Icey! I am not very good at photoshop-fu. Glad you like it. I just had to build it after I found the blue cowling. I want to build the other set I had too, so stay tuned for that one.
  12. Outnumbered but never outgunned! from my recent Sci Fi MOC and ISC.
  13. 6115 Shark Scout Was one of my first two System sets. Here it is. I loved it. It would sit on my chest of drawers when I wasn't playing with it. I have long had the parts and even bought a second one recently to have one made up on display. Then I thought, it's Underwater Month, why not celebrate. So I built a Neo version, a redux. I hope you like it as much as I do! More on Brickshelf when moderated
  14. Tesni had counted the heroes gathering around the quest board and staying to greet questmates. It looked like she had not been selected. Growling she grabbed a tankard from a passing server.
  15. Tesni had spent the day reading at the library, the book about gems had been useful in deciding what sort of gem to look out for. Hopefully she would get into a quest soon.
  16. Holy cheese slopes! Please make those images smaller! There are turorials here to suit all situations.
  17. I was thinking of creating a few figures if I have the parts in good condition. I will await my next BL order, (I have to gather up enough parts I want to need to make one)who knows?
  18. I suppose it was my own fault, having the same favourite torso part as my bothersome younger brother. He would pinch it and take the head off I liked to use.. Often with his teeth
  19. Man, I feel really lame now... I do have all those parts, but the torso is faded to doom and the head has a toothmark (Siblings suck) Can anyone else supply that combination? I can get new ones, but the timescale hinges on sellers then.
  20. Oh, I do enjoy MOCing with my clone brands. I made a pretty decent Batmobile for my Minimate Batman for display (I am not a fan of long term display with my LEGO, I MOC too much, so the clone bricks were perfect!) I have also drafted a few MOCs out of clone bricks, to save my LEGO again. Those are pretty nice models there, I'm not enough of a fan of army stuff to buy any of the big sets.
  21. If you post pictures of the parts, I oculd give it a go, I have a large collection of figure parts (Within reason, I do not have many super rare parts or anything.) I will even use my little Heroica Hall backdrop.
  22. Tesni returned to the marketplace. Cryf needed some more care and attention, so she would not be caught out in future battles. Approaching Anwyl's stall she checked her maths... "Hello, could I upgrade Cryfder from WP:5 to WP:6, that is 60 gold yes? That leaves me with 110 gold."
  23. Tesni picked herself up from under the table. The flaggons had all been cleared away, but she knew she'd had plenty to drink. "That Boar's Tusk is good..." she muttered to herself, rubbing her head.
