  1. Listening to the conversations around her, Tesni took out the fang dagger from her pack. Such a small blade would not be of use to her. She flicked it up and down in her hand, mis-handling it the blade flew across and embedded itself into a wooden column...
  2. Tesni laughed again. "I think she rushing around out back. The servers come by often."
  3. "My fellow barbarian you mean?" Tesni smiled, "Our quest went well, we did lose two fields to unexpectedly strong enemies. There were many wolves at one point and the a Scarecrow that managed to keep us at bay too long."
  4. Tesni laughed with her friend, the girl had fled in the bustle it seemed. "Aye, you did seem to impress him!"
  5. Tesni saw the girl in the corner, the one she had rather alarmed during her terse arrival. Stepping over she inclined her head. "I am sorry to have caused a fright on your part. I was less sure footed coming in then, blustering in like a newly horned ram, trying to make a dent on the herd. I see you are learned in healing?"
  6. "That is why we were called Hightribe! Great hights breed strong lungs and build strong bodies!" Tesni noticed the gold on the floor, but it would be unseemly, besides she had her own gold from the quest and a dagger to go sell. She watched amused to see who would scrabble about.
  7. "I see, the cave I lived in was too high for the bats, might have also been the Eagles that nested around and about. Flying rodent, ground rodent, they were all the same to the large birds." Tesni grabbed another plate from the servers, it must be a busy job to feed all the heroes and she was glad it was all free!
  8. "Thank you sir knight" Tesni was glad that her quest had swept the last of her unsurity around Knights away, unless of course she ever saw that crest from her remembering... "You are a new face here yes? Have you come from far?"
  9. This time Tesni awoke on the floor. It certainly was not wise to sleep in a bar, 'What would the priestess say?' Tesni thought, a little embarassed, 'But, it was a tough quest full of puzzles and battles.' She picked herself up and looked around the hall. Her friends and questmates where present but it seemed that some were still away on thier own quests. "Please, someone remind me that the inn is a better place to sleep!" Tesni joked, selecting a tankard of small beer to wash the sleep taste from her mouth.
  10. "mmrsm Oh..people." Tesni woke up again, sleeping on the table was not comfortable. "Another norse man? Pleased to meet you, I am Tesni." She stretched out and slipped a plate off the servers tray.
  11. I'll run it until next Saturday. Then I will launch a voting thread for a week. Then the prizes will be awarded.
  12. Tesni awoke with a strange *sknurk* noise as her head tipped forward, she hadn't been aware of falling asleep at the table 'Ah, familiar,' she thought, rubbing her sore neck. After yesterdays questing and the tough battles, sleep was not unexpected. There were a few heroes, eagerly awaiting a quest, she stood up and requested a plate of food, whatever meal was serving now would be greatly appreciated. Noticing the absence of her friends, Tesni sat back at the table. Someone might come in, or ask for a tale of battle or two.
  13. "Aye, the gods like to test our strength, to see if we are able to look after this world."
  14. Thanks for that Sandy, I'll go fix my stats
  15. "Now if only we had found it!" Tesni took a look at the map, "Well, we did very well finding it, even if it was hard to beat!"
  16. "Yes, I supppose we do! A little different to when I first walked in here and scared everyone!"
  17. Tesni took stock of the crowd in the hall, some faces she recalled from the beginning, before she had set off on the quest, while others were new to her. "Lots of new comers," she gestured with an eating knife, gratefully accepting a plate from the server who had just walked through. "Also, it seems we were the first to meet with success."
  18. Tesni smiled broadly. "Ah well then Jess, if you think one such as myself would be a help, I suppose I could sign up for Quest #5: Cave Sounds, I'm no leader mark you." She took a deep draught of her ale. "Now,I wonder how Eric is doing?"
  19. Finished at the library, having satisfied her curiosity of the mountains on the horizon through a time looking at the maps, Tesni walked into Heroica Hall, spying her friends in the corner she made her way to them, passing by the quest board. "These quests look very good, but I do not wish to take a spot from some new hero, eager to prove themselves." She reached the table, "Hail friends!"
  20. A sunken version indeed.
  21. Tesni stepped into the grand halls of the Library, at the far end a man from a race she had not yet encountered sat at a desk, nose deep in a book. Light played across lacquered wood, dancing reflections across the wall. This place was like the Temple cave, except the histories here were recorded in books and scroll instead of carved and painted upon the walls. The great knowledge and wisdom held on the pages pulsed across a spiritual sense, with reverence she walked forward, nervously fiddling a scroll and a scrap of paper from her pouch. *ahem* “Sir Librarian, I heard that this library accepts scrolls and books about things and places outside of Eubric. If that is true, may I leave the history of my tribe with you?” The librarian looked up. “Of course Madame! I always seek to expand the collection and provide information to the curious.” Tesni handed over the scroll. It was a well cared for manuscript, illuminated in parts and housed in a mountain leather case. The World was built. The seas were made. The mountains were raised. The forests were planted. The rivers were drawn. The lakes were bored. The beasts were freed. And so the gods were done. Pleased with their work they gifted each creation with a tool of their strength. The mountains were gifted Cryfder the great sword and that is all we, the Hightribe know of. For the world gave birth to the brothers, to care for the land and the beasts and the gods left them to live and retired to the grand realm. The peoples of the land gathered into tribes of like kind and again into smaller tribes of like kind. One tribe moved high, to tend the sheep and clear the water, to stop fires upon the heath and stop the rocks falling to injury. They became known as the Hightribe. They remained on the mountain and thrived. A generation after the Hightribe was named a powerful storm blew through the mountain and lightning hit the craggy bluff. As the menfolk sought out the scattered flocks a young woman of the tribe sought after the strike, for she new power may lie there as a danger to travellers. At the bluff she found a new cave, opened by the power of the gods. A circle of rocks bordered the cliff edge and so it would be done for future. Striking a torch she entered and found in a fist of rock the mighty blade Cryfder. She became the first of the priestesses. And so the tribe devoted tests of might to gain worthiness of the blade, to gain approval of the gods and open he stone fist. The Hightribe lived and flourished, well known for strength. Tesni reverently re-rolled the scroll and returned it to its case. She handed it over to the librarian. “This is all that was of my tribe. An elven Cleric visited our temple one summer and recorded the histories from the walls, he gave us this scroll, a copy of his records from the walls, as thanks for helping. Please take care of it.” As she handed it over the scrap of paper unfurled. It was a cheap cast off, sold for pennies by the printers and again by peddlers. Written in the careful script of a rote taught scribe were a few words. The Hightribe lost its mighty leader and a fool took power. He left many times for cities low down. One day he came back and was scared. In the night, in the rain, the knights came and destroyed the tribe by fire and blade. The priestess and a child escaped. The child grew strong and brave. On her majority she proved worthy of the blade. The writing changed to an unsure sure scribe. The priestess died, I buried her with the other ones. Now I leave to prove my tribe strong to the last. Tesni quickly fetched it up and crammed it back in her bag. “This isn’t much, just a new part to Hightribe history. It is not finished yet.” She said, “I am still writing it!”
  22. Tesni sat at the table, her friends and quest mates had drifted off to sleep or had seemingly gone straight to an inn for rest. Listening to the new faces and those who had not been selected to go, Tesni heard that the library was now open. Checking one last time for a friend or familiar face, Tesni left the hall for the library, she had a promised task to complete.
  23. So long as we can still tell what it was before the sea consumed it, a set can have as much removed as you dare. I do have to draw a line somewhere, if say I posted a baseplate with some bley bricks on and claimed it used to be Cafe Corner, it would be a bit cheeky.
  24. Hey crossmr back online I see!
  25. I was thinking that. Will wait and see what Sandy says.
