Heroica RPG - Quest#12: Honey, I Shrunk the Youngins!
Peppermint_M replied to Jebediahs's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Yes, that would be a good idea!" -
Well, it was just an idea... Not light on story per-se, just instead of being this loooong quest its quick and fun. Really I just had the idea after seeing all the little variations on a monster I created that my brother had built. As it is, I just figured an awesome idea for a quest that won't repeat that can be for low levels and will be nice and fun and use all the little creatures
-
I have had an inspired idea: Although I am unfamiliar on how these dueling quests work, it is my understanding that a standard was set and people would come in and oversee players fighting these games yes? Well, along those lines and a second problem, that I as a higher level player am aware: There are going to be new players who will be of low level, whether new sign-ups or those who just don't quest very often/haven't had the time to quest. I have been formulating a training quest, where level 1 heroes in a group of six can go and fight some monsters, the stalwarts of training levels like rats and bats plus a few that I made up for fun with my little brother. New players can get used to questing without bugging the more experienced players, they will level up and be able to accompany their higher level peers and someone who wants to try their hand at hosting can take the group out in a pre-built quest. I want to build and host it first, then host the pictures in my gallery so when another 6 newbies are ready I or another can host them a quest. Just like the many MMORPGS out there on the 'net. It won't even need much stat tweaking as they will follow the training path from level 1. Railroading is annoying but they are learning from a "seasoned hero" in a controlled environment. Drops would be minimal but enough gold or weapons can be accumalted to get at least an upgrade. Thoughts?

Concrete is bouyant, of course it floats. The hull there is split into sections which will let water in, so on its own it may float as the water will enter slowly. However loaded down with bricks the water will be pushed into the hull faster and sink it. Is a nice boat. The helicopter leaves a little to be desired though.

Thanks all, LT, I will have to look that up, I am always looking for new ideas. Alasdair, I figured that the printed torso/leg pairs from Alpha Team looked great as military uniform for my figures. Mikeosaurus, the wings on this plane are on 2x12 plates, a 1x2 section is inside the body of the plane with a pair of the SNOT brackets lined up against the plane sides. Then the wingtips are the car roof parts, placed so that the plate goes right to the edge inside the element, another pair of SNOT brakets there too. Then I filled in the gaps with 3 minifig bases a, 2x2 tile and a 2x1 tile, covering the SNOT brakets with t 1x6 slopes and bricks on a pair of 1x6 plates each side. It takes about 24 pieces to build a wing!

Oh right, yeah Cole. I get the characters mixed up. I really only buy the sets for parts...

"Alexis, would your compass lead us somewhere? But I think if the children are split up, we will not get a clue from it..." -
Ignis When the Nex was commissioned, Project Ignis was taken from mothballing and re-started. This long range Fortress-Buster plane had got as far as field deployment when the powers that be at high command retired it, stopping their plans for an outer island push. Five years later the Nex and the war on the freestate alliance were in full swing. Requiring some sort of human air support in combat, the team in charge of the highly classified Nex mission seconded the Project Ignis team and the pilot who had flown it. Now Lieutenant Beryl Somerton is once again taking Hynys flying fortresses down far out in the air combat zones. This plane is based off the same general design as the Nex, however I lengthened the wings and body, adding a little more presence to this plane. I think the visible engine details make it seem a little older than the Nex, so I took more of the smoothness away by adding in the 1x1 studs. The Hawker Hurricane to the Nex’s Supermarine Spitfire. A little bigger, a little slower, a little less graceful looking, but nevertheless a handy plane in a fight. I have to add that the Hawker Hurricane is my favourite of its contemporaries. The stickers (seen in the pilot picture) represent the two fortress 'kills' of the plane and pilot. I have one more plane of this Long Range project to build, I have had a cool idea in relation to this little storyline of mine...

"Right, Alexis has the Magnifying Glass and 10 gold, Ellaria has the Ladle and 10 gold. Hoke has the Telescope and 10 gold, Haldor has the Frying pan and 10 gold. I will have the Spear and the Morningstar. That means everyone gets and item and gold, as I can sell the morningstar for 10 gold, this is fair yes?" -
Yeah, the exact reason I am getting the Zane set is so I can mod it to a Batmobile, there are some many cars he uses I can make a cool one using that as a base.

Collectable Minifigures: Feeling the Packets
Peppermint_M replied to Jedi master Brick's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yes I do figure out what is in each packet before buying! Here is my count. The first two series I bought a box online, this trapped me into dropping a large sum of money and being stuck with all these figures I didn't want a lot of, thus keeping me from buying them in shops as I had already spent so much! For series three I went to the shops, armed with a dot code sheet, I helped a large group of children disperse by finding the exact one they wanted and then picked out my own, over the following weeks I bought a few more on occasion, to complete the collection and get more of those which I wanted (up to 5, I like squads of five). Series 4? Again, I went and figured out each I was getting by checking for certain parts, once again I do not have much more than 5 of any one figure. Series 5 was the first break. I wasn't aware they were getting to shops yet when I went to a town with my sister, one we don't often visit. Popping into a WH Smiths to check if a magazine I wanted was out yet, I spied a display full of them, so I grabbed a handful and bought them. After opening and checking what I had (at home) I then completed my collection by checking the bags. Just the other day, a colleague of my father's (we work in the sam building, me and my dad) mentioned that my ability to find the specific figures had come up in conversation. He asked if I would be able to find two aerobics instructor figures for his girls. When I went into the city, I found one in the Lego Shop (The staff joked that it was pretty hard to find and wished me luck) ans a second in John Lewis, they were kept in a box, so it was easy to sort what I had checked already from the ones that needed checking. There is nothing wrong with finding the ones you want, but it is a little mean to take all of one figure from the box. -
Sorry guys, I stopped reading it at Eldest, I am afraid I sort of outgrew it by the second book... If you like Dragons, The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde is really good (don't worry about the title, honest) I like the writers other work so I picked up that one and it was really good.

"Ok, I'll take the spear. Hoke can have the telescope since he asked first. Frying Pan or Morningstar Haldor?" She turned to speak to their captives "You attacked us, all we did was walk around this maze. Hoke, as a knight you can talk all pretty for them. Ask them a few questions the we will move on. Let's hope we don't need to do the same to their friends." -
Kids like stuff like that. Really. Certain kinds of keyring are almost a toy you can take to school without getting any trouble from teachers. This time of year they make "stocking fillers". I've also seen the Keylights but I do not want Garmadon and he was the only one left in stock.

Err, Today I bought a lot more books. Some more Harry Harrison for me, love his writing and a book by Terry Jones about the Saga of Erik the Viking, it is an illustrated younger reader's book, partly for me (lovely illustrations) partly for my brother who is massively into all the Viking things.

Well, looks like I got a most helpful well placed frenzy I hope all the battles are not as fraught...

Tesni sat back, amazed at her friends assertiveness. "You can of course have the ladle and for fairness I will give everyone except myself 10 gold each. We still have a telescope, morningstar, spear and frying pan to give." -

Tesni slumped to the ground, the purple lines dispersed and the stone on the blade stopped glowing... "That was odd..." she stood once more and glared at their tied up opponents. "I will get to you later..." "Alexis, of course you can have the magnifying glass and do take your potion unless one of our clerics wishes to heal you. Everyone else, what spoils would you like?" (OoC, what should my stats be? my health has increased but my power has not and I am unsure where and what things now need to be...) -
Indeed a nize time I bought myself a few CMFs, the roof tile box and the windows/doors box. Also a PaB cup of blue 1x2 bricks, I hope to build something on sunday. Now, onto the beer

Thanks everyone! I had quite a good day so far. I got a day off, so I woke up late and then went into the city. Started off with a hot chocolate and a welsh cake at my favourite coffee place. Then bought loads of comics and books at my favourite shops and bought a bunch of LEGO at the shop. Then it was a steak dinner and a pint of porter for lunch . Now I am having a nice afternoon before I have to go out cat sitting...

"I am sure Alexis will understand, we must beat these foes before reviving her... Now I must decide, take a potion or attack the enemy?" Tesni was troubled, the purple energy pulsed and fought, trying to influence her decisions...
