  1. Nice and simple. I didn't know that manual trolleys of that kind actually existed. It's good that you've posted a real life one. Adding 1 or 2 accessories more would make it a nice small impulse set as you've said.
  2. I agree with Svelte on the Cargo Plane. I was positively impressed by the size and the overall look was great, not to forget that beautiful green colour. The bad thing was that for a cargo plane, it couldn't carry too much gargo, especially after taking into consideration the size of it. That big wig piece was acting like a fence, dividing the hull in two. If this plane also had a hinge mechanism for the tail to open (just like the Med-Star plane from the '80s,) and load the cargo, or even vehicles from there, that would have been a total success. It still remains one of my favorites though. The Coast-Guard line on the other hand offered us some very nice sets. The CG helicopter is in my opinion one of the best helicopters TLG has ever released with a very good percentage of it being brick built. The Patrol Boat and tower and the pick-up truck with the jet scooter were also very nice sets. I even liked the CG platform for some reason. It looked strange from the catalogues and the box but when I finished building it, I liked it perhaps because it was something innovative.
  3. Welcome to our great community Updike. Enjoy your stay and don't worry, you 'll slowly find your pace in here. Have fun! Oh.. ( I think that it was pretty good!)
  4. Very nice work indeed! The use of black on the roof really works great with red and white! I also like the front part and how the "blackness" from the roof ends up there. The shape is very nice with clear lines. I think that it was a good thing you got bored with 7897 after all! Thanks for sharing!
  5. Great work! What I like the most is the overall design and shape. The cabin is nicely built and having two masts is great. Adding details in the middle part is also a nice move. It certainly looks more complete that way with all these features. Keep it up!
  6. Welcome to Eurobricks Plissken. You'll have a great time in here and you'll enjoy discovering anything that has to do with LEGO. It's sad that you gave almost all of your collection away in the past. Look at the bright side though. Lots of great new themes and sets so you can always start a new one (which is something you've already done.) Have fun!
  7. Nice MOC! I like the overall shape and the colour scheme. I particularly like the way you've used the green and white slopes in order to have this very nice pattern on the sides. Good one!
  8. I just love looking at pictures like these! Crowded, busy, not in a straight order, bring it on! Just like the old days! Only by looking at all these colours makes you absolutely !
  9. That says it all. I'm even more impressed now! Just amazing work! Well done!
  10. Great work ISC! The entrance looks fantastic and all the columns on the front produce a great result! The roof's glass structure is beautiful and the colour scheme is really eye-capturing! Dark tan with dark green make a unique combination! Dark green... Thanks for sharing! ...said the man with the million names.
  11. Thanks for the tip Milan. I was too lazy to do my own search.
  12. Great work dr_spock! I REALLY like this crane! Being a 4-wider myself, I always thought that the last cranes released form TLG were a bit big for me. This one is a very succeful pass to 6-wide IMO. I also own the classic town crane and seeing the comparison you've made, they don't look too odd next to each other. The stabilizer (if it's called like that) technique is genious. Be sure that if this was an official set, it would have been in my collection now.
  13. It's Santa's train and with him on board everything is possible!
  14. The combination of Santa's White Steam Train and Winter Toy Shop is just great! Bird's eye view really makes the engine look like it has snow on it!
  15. One more great expansion set from TBG (The Brickster Group.) I really like the fact that your ideas never end TheBrickster! If only the the the soldier/General could hold the cutlass the way we all want... I remember when I was a kid I was trying to make my pirates hold the cutlass in a more "Vamos!" way because I was also influenced from this Greek War of Independence painting: Well, I finally did it the way you present it since there is no other way I think. Anyway, well done for once more and keep bringing us new sets!
  16. A double praise from me for getting into all this trouble and for the genious "white background" idea! Snow...
  17. Very nice idea! Ghostbusters is one of my favorite movies since my childhood and I can still remember many of the quotes from there. Egon's ghost detector looks similar too! Great use of that part! "I feel so funky."
  18. It's the first time that environmentalists actually encourage the use of steam trains. As Homer would say: Mmmm....Sweet smoke.... Very nice work neighbour! It really feels like Christmas! Having this weather here though, I can easily say say that this is not the Polar Express but the Solar Express! About the Christmas issue, Christmas never pass/leave, only come! We are not 10 days after Christmas, just 355 before! Thanks for sharing! EDIT: Homer replacement
  19. Melanie Fiona - Give It To Me Right Such a feel-good song and an addictive tune.
  20. What a wonderful scenery! Great work Jonas! I clicked on the link you've provided and there is indeed a great resemblance. The section with the foliage, the trees and the "green" really adds many points to your creation. Even that small cute path. What I really like is the second picture. It looks very realistic because the lighting is different on each level. Darker at the balcony, brighter above the Gate, less brighter on the ground just beneath the rock and brighter on the open space on the ground. (Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me... ) Thanks for sharing!
  21. There are still some precious gems out there, ready to be found. Just like the One Ring from TLOR. " It wants to be found". Now, I know that it's pretty difficult. Here's what I did. I tried to remember every toy shop from my childhood, especially not the big ones and if that toy shop was selling LEGO back then. I remembered that tihs particular shop was a LEGO seller in the past so I called them to ask about LEGO and the owner said that he only had some other brands. But I didn't stop! I went there since I know that giving infos from the phone is sometimes not too accurate. I didn't mention that I was the person who called and I asked him again. He told me the same thing and showed me the clone brands and when I started saying "Yes, I remember playing with LEGO when I was a kid too" in a most ignorant and non-expert way (minifigs=little people) and asked "Do you by any chance have older LEGO sets", -- BAM!-- he remembered! "I think I still have one or two sets from the past if I remember correctly." The next seconds were thrilling. He started unstacking some boxes and I was praying: "Airport Shuttle, Metroliner, Eldorado Fortress, Launch & Load Seaport, TOWN, TOWN!" We never have discounts on toys here in Greece that's why there are still great chances of finding an older set. Toy shop owners also, don't have a clue on how precious older sets are. You just need patience, luck and search. The experience of opening an old set was great because just the thought of this set being made during your childhood is . Also, these small 2-paged catalogues that are included are a thing to remember. Sorry for the rather long post guys...
  22. Yes, the price was too good to ignore this set, even if you're not a Model Team collector. Since it's a SYSTEM set, it is always useful. The box had some shelfware but that was in my advantage because I could bargain the price. The stickers. I know that these pictures have to do with quality but since it's a 1993 set, I thought that posting them in the quality topic is not fair for TLG. Breathing after 17 years! (Also notice the yellow stripe on the door.)
  23. The SWAT truck looks great ACCURATEin! Like a black mean machine! I bet that the kids in the second picture will behave now.
  24. I opened a MISB 5581 Magic Flash Model Team early this afternoon and built it. It was my first Model Team set and although that I don't collect Model team, I bought it because it was for 40 euros and has some great parts in it. The best part is that some of them are the ones that I was missing from my Classic Town sets! I would also like to report that all pieces were in excellent condition and only the stickers had a minor flaw. The glue from the long side of the stickers was gone and they had taken a curvy shape. That was good because it saved me from the dillema of putting them or not. Fresh 1993 danish air filled the room! And those colours...
  25. Very nice and very enjoyable to read review Pinpapollo! I bought my first Ferrari set last week, -the 8168 Ferrari Victory. I'm not into Ferrari sets (flesh minifigs give me the creeps) but it was cheap and I gave it a go. About this small semi-impulse set now. Stickers on minifigs is a big con but the helmets are just wonderful. I think that it was worth buying it (4.99 € was a great price) given the fact that you could get two of these great helmets, two minifigs and a trophy! Thanks for this great review again! P.S That GIF was genius!
