  1. As far as I know we're not even 100% sure if there's going to be a POTC Lego theme at all, let alone which ships they are going to make. I think the Endeavour of the film would make a nice ship for them to make (minifig scale). But I don't think that's going to happen... But if they make a POTC-line, there will be a few nice ships for sure. There have to be
  2. In all your MOC's it's clear that a bunch of plants and trees makes a MOC look so much better And the building itself is great too. I really like the tower and the small 1x1 tiles on the house. Indiana Jones and Darth Vader seem to like the building as well. They seem to be fighting about the ownership of it
  3. Captain Blackmoor has made ships with a lot of dark tan plates. You can see them here. I think it looks very nice and realistic. Tan and dark tan are both nice. The only problem with dark tan plates is that there are no 1x..plates, they are all 2 studs wide. So they are all like this (or bigger) instead of this But there are 1x2 plates. So they are both nice, but normal tan would be easier, certainly on smaller ships.
  4. Doors that can't be opened are not very nice in case of fire, but maybe there is never fire in Fabuland so the FD is just there because it's a nice building Anyway, you did a good job. I especially like the arch and the chrome bell.
  5. I have 7 of the 12. But I don't have all the same heads and hair pieces. I like the witch on the right, she probably won't make a very popular princess I think (or perhaps in the underworld)
  6. I think you did a very good job on this ship The colours, and the details (especially stern and figurehead, and the 'horizontal capstan') are very nice. I'm also glad that you're going to give it a better rigging, and sails. In case you don't know, if you're going to add a sail to the 'normal yard', keep in mind that it should look like this: So the square sail is on a horizontal yard (so not in the same direction as the 'sprit yard' that's hanging behind the mast). I would also remove the flag on that yard, so you'll only have them on the places of this picture. And then it will be perfect [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  7. Agreed! The anchor is clever. I also like the cannons there in front of the building. But although the real building might be quite plain too, I would give this a bit more detail. For example some kind of 'lattice works' in the windows, or some statues on the entrance like on the picture. Otherwise it's a very nice building, with a lovely blackcoat army
  8. Nice minifigs! I like Miss Terrel's leg piece too. Lego should make more of them I think this would make a great movie. The murderer is indeed always the gardener (or the butler). Would this movie have a surprising end? Or is the gardener still the murderer?(or does that make it surprising?) Anyway, good job
  9. Time for some more/better pictures: Some interior shots: The chimney: (I couldn't make a better picture of it). Wind blowing in the sails (I put a fan behind it ) And finally, how the sails work. First the studding sails: I think it's obvious from the pictures, otherwise don't hesitate to ask. Now how to hoist/lower the yards: Here you can also see the black rope around the sail. I've made ropes on the right lenght for every sail and at the ends tied to a bush which I can put on the yards (made of axles). And how to brace: Once they are public, you can see more pictures here. Thanks for watching, feel free to comment
  10. It's becoming a very beautiful ship My only small point of critic is that the spritsail topsail yard ("bovenblindera") may be placed too close to the end of the bowsprit. But correct me if I'm wrong, there could be frigates that have it this way. The rest of this ship is perfect, with a nice bell and lots of other fine details on the deck. What I also really like is your lattice works, with the use of brown windows, and the flag and the stern look good as well. Great job overall, I can't wait to see it under full sail! EDIT: I think this needs to be frontpaged since so many people have been waiting for this so they can finish their ships. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  11. I think it's a masterpiece! So many great details in this building, and even a good interior with the shooting closets and more. The real building seems rather plain coloured, but yours is a pleasure to the eye with enough colour tints. I also like the walking plank Great job and a well-deserved frontpage
  12. Such a long reply! Let me comment it First of all, thanks for all the positive talking. Good that you see it that way, I've always tried to keep close to that ship. I have a book about the movie with a lot of detailed pic's that helped me a lot. I agree with you. I tried to give it a better curve on the downside of the line, but the top could have been better. But I've learned from it and I'll try to do it better on my next ship. I didn't have any problems with it yet. I can remove those plates on the whole lenght and on both sides. So if something goes anywhere, I can always give it a push from the opposite direction. It seems like one of the best ideas to me, to combine both modularity and strenght. I understand that. It does have those stairs. But I made the plates 'protrude'(?) 1 plate (or 1/3 stud). If you look very closely, you can see it, but I'll try to make better pictures of it in the future. Ok, My masts won't break either, they are completely filled up with pins and hoses and secured by the rigging. But I'm curious how you did it, it's hard to see on the pictures. As soon as I have time, I'll make better pictures of the ship and I'll try to show how all the rigging works. Yeah it looked pretty awful back then. Still, you can spot some techniques that ended up in my final product.Again, thanks for the feedback, I'll post better pictures in the future.
  13. It seems a bit chaotic on the pictures due to all the dark-, lightgrey and black bricks, but I think it will look better IRL. I like the strange triangular houses and all the busy and partying people. The gallows are a nice detail as well and they look very clever made. And you did a good job on the interior as well, with some nice pieces of furniture and a typical pirate scene So next time, I think you should reduce the number of parrots and use either black and dark grey or white and lightgrey bricks to make it less chaotic. But except from that small point, you did a very good job
  14. It's indeed a lovely and peaceful MOC. The boat looks great, and I like the water and your army
  15. My votes: The Penguin - 1 Sorrow - 1 Matn - 1 Thank you all for participating! There were a lot of great entries!
  16. I like the 'roof' and the folded sails on the boat. Indeed a few more details (and/or perhaps a few more colours) would be a nice addition. But it's certainly not bad for your first creation on this forum. Btw, Welcome to classic-pirates! (If you have any questions concerning the forum, ask them here)
  17. Like I said on the bottom of the first page, I used this window (in black) and put some decals on it for the black 'lattice works'. Somewhere on page 1, I said I had made a few bigger pictures. You can see them here (only the last 7 images). Thanks for all the other comments as well. Cheers
  18. Capt. Blackmoor and me have a display there. It's two ships very close to the entrance. We'll be there tomorrow.
  19. Nice idea to make a (croissant) bakery. I've made one as well: I like your oven more and the whole building is not as cramped as mine. And your 'knife holder' is simple but very clever. Good job
  20. Ok, I see. Then I have no problems with it Seems like a clever idea to place them through the headrails now you say so. It's the HMS Pandora. I took the picture from this site.
  21. Now that's an impressive broadside! The last picture looks excellent (and so do the other ones). I think you could give the headrails more of a curve and perhaps let the bumkins go over it (instead of going 'through' it). But I really like the fact that you're using those bumkins. The catheads look great as well, and the hooks are a good detail. And (I can't say it enough times), the blue stripe is awesome Keep it up!
  22. Congratulations captain! I think it's well deserved and we won't regret it. Keep up the good work [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  23. The water just behind the boat turned out very well IMO. I also like how you did the fire, and of course the monkey is a funny small detail as well. Overall a well-deserved place on the frontpage
  24. Nice job on the Anubis statues. I also like all the tiled floors with all the patterns in it. Good work Surprisingly enough I have a test this monday about the Roman Empire and this scene is in it as well
  25. That looks great! I'll keep this trick in mind, it seems to work really well. It also seems a bit hard to do correctly, but you did a great job
