And Omicron, if you read some of the comments over at Brickset, you will see that I am not alone in my thoughts on this subject.

I am somewhat doubting the fanbase because as part of that fanbase if I were not into Lego, I would not care about Lego Zelda at all. I think from a fanbase standpoint that more people are voting just to vote to be part of a movement rather than looking forward to purchase what they are supporting. From over the years I've known a lot of people who are fans of the Zelda franchise and I don't recall any of them collecting toys from the franchise.

Animosity between Builders
Meatman replied to Meatman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I would rather not. I am merely just posting this as an eye opener for everyone to let them know that just because comments are made on someone's home forum that there may also be others who understand what they are saying. -
Those prices are shocking!

I am multilingual and read various forums from all over the world and it is really sad how some builders try and deter other builders from implementing certain ideas or designs into their models because of what original builder came up with it. I even see it on here a bit from time to time in the form of arrogant cheap shots. I'll be the first to admit that I am nowhere nearly as skilled as anyone on here and I only build official sets and some MOC's of others but I do admire everyone who has the confidence of posting their own original MOC whether it is a good model or a mediocre one. But the model bashing and criticizing that goes on in some home country's forums against other builders is pretty sad to say the least. I know everyone likes to think that their models/building style/ideas are the best, but this isn't always the case, especially in the eyes of the rest of the world. It's something I think everyone needs to keep in mind.

Let's be realistic though, how many fan boys that have helped some of these projects hit the 10k supports are actually going to buy them? Probably very few. That was very well put. There are a lot of models on Cuusoo that are very well done and deserve a shot with the Review. I have voted for some exceptional models that I may or may not buy, but they were certainly worthy of a Support just for the time and dedication that the creator put into them because I know that many people would buy them who have no clue what Cuusoo even is. Then you have Models on there that are just "ideas" and not even models at all that do very well because of a fanbase. For example, I am a Huge Legend of Zelda fan, but I have never bought any of the TLOZ toys over the years because I only have interest in the game. Now if TLOZ were to come out in Lego form, I would most certainly buy them because I am into Lego, but I highly doubt that most TLOZ fans that supported are actually interested in buying the Lego toys if they actually happen more so than "Supporting" was just the right thing to do.

Are People using fake accounts on Cuusoo to Support?
Meatman replied to Meatman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
OK, I guess that I should have made my question a little clearer. I am talking about the Supports down the final stretch. Like when a Project spends 6 weeks getting to 9,000 supports and then that final day it gets 1,000. Now if the strong fan base already supported the project up to point, it is surprising that it can get the final 500 or 1,000 in a day or a few hours. -
I am sure this will be a touchy subject, but I have a hard time in believing that some of these projects are getting a legitimate 500 to 1000 supports in a day or even a few hours. I think many people may be creating multiple accounts down the stretch just to hit the mark. This wouldn't be a hard thing to do if a project has a strong License backing it and 50 die hard fans are willing to make 10 bogus accounts just to run the count up.

Lego CUUSOO Legend of Zelda Achieved at 6:05 AM today!
Meatman replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
So much potential for a Zelda theme in Lego. Just think of all of the boss fight sets that they could have. But will this actually get the green light? -

Showcase for your creation
Meatman replied to arjanofski's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Gotcha Sariel. Thanks for the input. I was always a little confused as to why some people were using Lego in their addresses and others were not. I kind of figured that it wasn't quite Legal to do. -
Showcase for your creation
Meatman replied to arjanofski's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
What if someone's last name was Lego and their website was called legodesigns.com and they specialized in building websites? Just from doing a simple search there seem to be 100's of websites out there that have Lego in their address. Many of which have nothing to do with Lego building blocks. -
Cuusoo support for the Vampire GT
Meatman replied to mo_'s topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Paul, maybe you should join one of those Vampire Twilight Movie forums and promote your model. I know that it sounds silly, but if you look at how the other models are achieving the 10,000 supports, you are going to need serious help. There are so many people involved in the Vampire craze that you could probably hit the mark easily. Seriously though, there are people out there that collect anything and everything that has the vampire or dracula name. -
LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
Meatman replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am assuming that the Back to the Future idea is primarily based on that, just the idea of it and not so much the actual model proposed? I could probably see several playsets of this theme in the future. The Minecraft theme that made it just seemed a little pointless, because isn't that was Lego basically already is? -
An internet tale Winchester/Shaun of the Dead project on CUUSOO

Out of curiosity, how many Supports did you get after the Conan piece? -
Is Cuusoo too easily taken over by Rabid Fandoms?
Meatman replied to David Thomsen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Or at least review them before they are accepted to make sure that it is even worth going through the support process. I mean some licensed themes are just never going to happen, like a theme based on another toy competitor's product. -

Meatman replied to David Thomsen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Maybe Cuusoo should only accept models that are unlicensed original MOCs. -
