  1. MOD NOTE: Someone ducked up the med list. Rickety Cannon took the DMT properly. Until it's updated right, no more goes out. Flitwick's and Peanut's choices still count because I sent them their PM.
  2. GAME NOTE: Though I ended two days early, I won't be able to do that this week. My in-laws are coming to visit tomorrow night and we'll be going out the night after, so this will have to be a solid 72 hour day, no matter what.
  3. IMPORTANT MOD NOTE: Medicine In the first 24 hours of the game, all town patients must take medicine. Scum may or may not take medicine. Medicine will be offered in two shifts, hours apart from each other. There will be two separate assortments for each shift. Patients may not take the same medicine on consecutive nights. Patients who choose not to select their own medicine will be randomly assigned medicine from the remaining stock. Medicine taken by lynched or killed players will be removed from the asylum and not offered again. Players select medicine by: 1. copying the entire updated list. 2. adding their name after their choice, and striking it off the list, ie. Medicine A Medicine B def Medicine C etc Failure to do either of these steps will make their selection void, and other players may feel free to make that medicine their selection. <players, feel free to police yourselves on this, since I both have a job and sleep> If this system is too confusing for you, simply do nothing and receive a random selection, with no penalties. <ALWAYS COPY THE WHOLE LIST> Day Four, Shift One: 1. DMT 2. Bug Dust 3. Nasal Inhaler 4. Uppers 5. Paint Thinner 6. Sponk 7. Sugar Pill 8. Peach Cobbler 9. The Big Fat Pill
  4. It's late. The night has been quiet. Pelly has stood up. Scally Wull stares out the window, pining for the ocean. It's -8 degrees outside, but what he wouldn't give to submerge himself in salt water. It would give him the energy to carry on. Scally hears a noise. "Oh Pelly, it's you?!" he exclaims. "I really would have predicted anybody but you being up, you lazy freak." He makes a dramatic pause to emphasize a point. "I, Scally, am throwing a rock at you from the security of my glass house. Get it?" Pelly has nothing to say. He never does, despite patients repeated attempts to have a conversation with him. Somehow, Scally thinks Pelly's non-reaction is a reaction of sorts. Perhaps it is. A bead of sweat dribbles down Pelly's head. Scally wheels around to see the dark figure standing behind him. "Oh, what are you? You are wonderful looking, like a cousin of mine, but a little more warm-blooded. I think finally I have encountered a like-minded soul, someone I can consider a friend." Scally leaves the notion dangling in the air. BANG! "Ah, megabluck no," the thing says before walking away. Scally's body left in a puddle on the floor, Pelly sits down. And Pelly writes, because that's what Pelly knows how to do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Morning comes, but the sun isn't shining. It's blotted out by deep clouds, an omen of dark things on the horizon. The remaining patients crowd around Scally's body. Pelly continues to write. The patients, stressed and impatient, peek into Pelly's notebook. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Day four has begun. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Town or the Scum. To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Scum, while the Scum needs to outnumber the Town. Third-party (neutral) characters have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles. 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). Proxy voting is allowed, with the format Proxy: Character (Player) and Unproxy: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. The player with the most votes will be lynched. In the case of a tie, the first to achieve their vote will be lynched. Voting is mandatory. Failure to vote will incur a vote penalty the following game day. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached after 72 hours. In the case of a unanimous vote, the day may end early. After the day has been concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last 24 hours (or 48 hours if an emergency comes up). Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 20 hours of the night stage. 3.5. Players may not target the same player two nights in a row, and may not target themselves. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the host via PM. That includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. You must post in every day thread. 10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host via PM 11. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5 vote penalty vote penalty per every 4 living players against you, and death on your second offense.
  5. I read Catwoman and Batwoman last night. Catwoman is getting a lot of flack for going beynod cheesecake into pure male fantasy areas, but I didn't hate it. The art was interesting and the coloring good. I'd put it in the so-so pile. I also never read any of the Ed Brubaker run, which has a strong reputation, so maybe I'd hate this more if I had that to compare it to. Batwoman was a stunning book. The story was a bit abstract, but the art was some of the best I'd seen since Frank Quitely's Batman & Robin. Really gorgeous. I'll read more, if only to see what Williams is doing in the art. I was really jealous of his versatility as I read it. I can't recommend it enough.
  6. MOD NOTE: You people have been hallucinating. The honorable Fraulein actually said "eight" My mistake, I counted the medicine list with seven meds gone rather than the dead list with eight players gone. My sincerest apologies. In light of that, if anyone wants to change their night actions, I'll accept them.

  9. Day three, Final Vote Tally Heng Leigh / Hinck 8 (Kiel, Flitwick, Sandy, Sok, Rufus/Pandora, Masked Builder, Ron) Sunny Day/Sandy 12 (Hinck, Murdock, Big Cam, Peanuts, Scouts, JimB, Shadows, Brickdoctor, Dragonator, Whitefang, iamded, Alopex) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fraulein Bloodbrick sits in the atrium as night falls on the clinic. "I couldn't have hoped for more. Already, in three days, they've lost six people." She pauses. "Oh no, I've been entirely fair to them. They have all the opportunities in the world." She laughs. "I'm enjoying watching them lose their minds more than they already have!" She breathes calmly and rhythmically. You're doing very well, my daughter. I could not have asked for more in a child. She blushes a little. "Do you think they will catch my people?" Only time will tell. At the very least, they must find one. To do less would be nothing short of pathetic. We deserve grand adversaries, not lambs waiting for the slaughter. Wait, I hear somebody coming! I must go, but never forget, I love you with all my heart. Now, make them pay! Make them suffer! The divine young Bloodbrick watches her guard bring in Sunny Day. "Is this their choice for today then? So be it!" Bloodbrick glares at Sunny like a cat pawing a wounded mouse. "So, you see the gunblade just lying there… You're wondering if you can reach it before I reach you. You can try, it's okay to try. But it won't change your fate." Sunny gulps, and the fear that normally permeates her becomes white and burning in her. The silken hands of Bloodbrick slowly work their way up to Sunny's throat. Sunny cries, "GAAGH!" as Bloodbrick pushes her into the stream. She holds her head under as Sunny's body flails. She holds it under until the body goes limp. She stands up and hollers at the door. "That's seven! Lights out!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the main hall, the patients, stuffed on crepes, wait for sleep. The ladies crowd around Pelly to see what he's writing. Day three is now over. Send in those night actions, the sooner the better.
  10. I should have mentioned the ones I've read, mainly from week one, and I'm starting into week two now. And keep in mind I've been reading comics since I was 10, so that has been 25 years. I bought Arkahm Asylum when it came out! When I started buying comics, Wolverine was only in one book a month, Uncanny X-Men! So, I'm a little more burnt out on the hot artists and characters. And I'm old The really lame ones for me were Justice League, Justice League International, Detective Comics, Green Arrow, Batgirl, and Hawk & Dove. Really nothing interesting going on in those stories. And the art has no character. I used to love Jim Lee art, but it's seemed really dull for a long time for me. And Liefeld draws like a total amateur in Hawk & Dove. On one page, a character is tying a neck tie, and on the next page he's wearing a bow tie. Like, if the artist doesn't care, neither do I. And Tony Daniel bores me too, writing and art. But the 'story' of Detective has noting in it. The so-so pile was Swamp Thing, Action Comics, and I can't remember what else. Animal Man was genuinely interesting to me, but I've been a fan of the character since the original Grant Morrison run. The story telling was deepest in that. I've heard the Scott Snyder Batman is quite good, and the Batwoman too, so hopefully they do more for me. My issue with it all is that DC has made a big deal of this being New 52! and that there would be something different, but so far it's just the same old same old. But there was no way they could introduce 52 books and have even half of them be very good. It's just too much. Everyone's got their own tastes, and I'm glad some people are really into it. The comic industry needs to keep readers excited about their books
  11. MOD NOTE: Vote Tally Heng Leigh / Hinck 8 (Kiel, Flitwick, Sandy, Sok, Rufus/Pandora, Masked Builder, Ron) Sunny Day/Sandy 11 (Hinck, Murdock, Big Cam, Peanuts, Scouts, JimB, Shadows, Brickdoctor, Dragonator, Whitefang, iamded)
  12. I've been following the new 52 from DC, and I can't express what a disappointment they have been. The art is generally passable, but the stories and flow are so much 'the same old, same old'. They are all hollow. I think the problem is the current decompressed story telling trend. One issue reads like ten minutes if a movie, and there is little to hold your mind. If the comic industry shifted to selling books rather than issues, I wouldn't mind, but the current model of charging three dollars for next to nothing is mind boggling. The industry has gotten so sophisticated (morrison's All Star Superman, Brubaker's Captain America) that I'd gotten high hopes. Instead, the DC new 52 is reading like a suicide note so far.
  13. My apologies. I was taking things too seriously. E-Bay is negligent and will be held accountable for their negligence in a highly embarrassing public fashion, one that will be considered life or death. Their CEOs will regret not countering every contingency possible by humans trying to scam money from the public
  14. MOD NOTE: Vote Tally Heng Leigh / Hinck 7 (Kiel, Flitwick, Sandy, Sok, Rufus/Pandora, Masked Builder) Sunny Day/Sandy 11 (Hinck, Murdock, Big Cam, Peanuts, Scouts, JimB, Shadows, Brickdoctor, Dragonator, Whitefang, iamded) The day will end roughly 24 hours from now.
  15. By comparing them to Philip Morris, you're equating them to killing people with their product by not tracking Chinese scammers vigilantly enough? Whatever it takes for you to feel you saved faced from your initial comment... You won on the Internet, sure, whatever. E-Bay knowingly gave people cancer, Sok Hopefully the other contributors to this thread can show a little more restraint and not resort to such silly hyperbole.
  16. I've been following this thread for weeks. It's the main reason that I found a comment like yours worth replying to. I suggest you send an e-mail to the board of directors complaining that they haven't cured cancer yet if you're unsatisfied with their services. Some Chinese guy who sold toothbrushes then sold half price Falcons. And e-bay is slower to catch it than the people who log in to a Lego fan site daily. And that's your reason for condemnation. Think about that for a bit.
  17. Yeah, those bastards simply run the first international marketplace ever with millions of users. How dare they not catch every individual scammer before they act?! How dare they make a profit on their full time jobs?! There's a reason the phrase 'buyer beware' is older than the English language. I don't blame the buyer, but bitching about eBay that your "too good to be true" deal wasn't true is pretty lame.

  21. Thanks, and take care.
  22. MOD NOTE: Scally Wull will be taking the white crystals today. MOD NOTE: Start voting, knock yourselves out. Same as the last two days, if you reach a consensus in 24 hours, I'll close it early. If not, the thread will be open 48 hours.
  23. MOD NOTE: Medicine Day three - shift two 1. White Crystals 2. DMT 3. Saline Infusion 4. Strawberry Dust 5. Paint Thinner 6. Sponk 7. Horse Tranquilizers 8. Nasal Inhaler 9. Red Devils

  25. Thanks for playing, Tammo, and to the other early departures It's the nature of the beast to lose players each day. Every game starts off as it does, and can go any way, depending on a mixture of chance and strategy. I'm enjoying watching this unfold as it is. Now we're at day three, hopefully the story will start getting meatier, as the cast of players starts slimming down, and we can start to get to know Fraulein Bloodbrick a little more closely. And enjoy some lovely crepes Thanks. I feel just so so about the sets. I'm not a MOC'er at all, though you naturally get better just by playing with Lego. Certainly the hospital's main room looks better than my last game, and I spent a lot less time on it this time around!
