Hey I've never been to a LEGO event before, but this event is going to be only a subway ride away. I know there are few EB members in Japan, but I'm hoping some AFOL is around to go out for dinner at the event. I'd love to chat, even just for a few hours, with an AFOL here. Post here or PM me if you plan to go! http://uhb.jp/lego/

I'm thinking of suing this prison for copyright infringement.... But, that's for tomorrow. Who's up for charades?

And making shit up. You make shit up too

There were four on the Eurogina Planet? I just remember three. The secret third one was the meatball clan or something.

EB Members Trading Collectable Minifigs Portal
def replied to WhiteFang's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Too much stuff in this thread to read through, but I'll go at it backwards. I have five mini-figs I want, all series 5: Cavewoman Evil Dwarf Gangster Lizard Man Lumberjack I have 10 trades, and am willing to give all 10 for the five I want. I am not willing to sell them in parts. all are open, complete. I can even through in the Japanese advertisements for them Gladiator x 3 Royal Guard x 2 Snowboarder Fitness Instructor Ice Fisherman Zookeeper Detective I actually have another Ice Fisherman that my kid has scattered throughout my apartment, and would track it down for myself and give you my good one if you absolutely had to have two. I'll keep looking around on this thread too -
Do we need a majority, warden? If a majority is reached, will the day end? Or do you just write that as a force of habit?
-
Why you were investigated is irrelevant. Are you implying someone else here did something to merit investigation? No no no , when you're investigated on Day 1, you claim it has to be an insane investigation... You obviously weren't framed this early into the game, and nobody would lie day one and get proven a liar day two... "Could be"... (EB needs a no-no emoticon) I think the chance of catching a rioter day one is at least 3 in 17 Not exactly lottery numbers, are they. Want to help us out? Tell us what your food did, so we can compare it against future claims... But you're going to come up as scum tomorrow, so no skin off our backs if you keep it to yourself Thanks Vote: Jissaleh Blazen (JimButcher)

Huh? That's not what I wrote. Read the whole post together. I meant after the we hold an investigation or two, or three, some town should be cleared. What? Who wrote anything about not voting without investigations? Was I speaking Galaxian in that post? I said to not convict day one, then approach day two after we've had a few investigations to clear a few things up... I just went over the court transcripts, and I'm not confused by what I wrote, hard to see what was confusing there: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=61061&view=findpost&p=1092648

Sorry, I meant cleared from being scum. There will be some investigations tonight, and maybe we'll get scum, but even if not, we'll know some townies not to vote for, which is a start. At the moment, it seems like our meal choices aren't going public, which leaves me feeling good, we can work with this. People have some anonymity about what they took, which means the roles important to town will be somewhat more anonymous each night, and scum won't be able to target town as easily. If someone clears someone else tonight, they can state that the person is clear a lot more freely, since scum probably don't know what meal they took, and won't know who took it the next night, at least not for sure. Day one isn't over, so I'm not sure if this is the case. This cannibal is sleeeeepppppyyyyy.... More later when brain working better.

We aren't likely to learn much on a day one vote unless we are lucky enough to put the spotlight on a scum, and the rest of their crew scramble to put it on someone else. Nobody else really has a reason to defend or go after anyone. For day one, this would keep us from killing one of our own, and we should have something to work with tomorrow, even if it's just a few people that are cleared as scum.
-
We just started today. There are no leads The best we can do is gauge people's posts, then wait until voting starts and gauge the way people vote. At least in this life, we can unvote more than once, so we can feel people out a bit with accusations and 'practice' votes

Actually, it's a fair plan that I'm sure the warden didn't properly count on, with his wording of no conviction in the case of a tie. It would be a good hard to pull off idea to have it eight and eight and one... Though nobody's going to be volunteering for that. We've got a while before the vote comes, and we might have someone come along and start calling everyone shitholes, so let's wait and see
-
If in doubt, read the rules, n00b
-
Nope, but I'm still curious who got my first choice. If that's the order, being an early riser will be an advantage Yup, that Rirsol is a crafty one, I hope he's on our side

Well, my food has arrived... Not my first choice, and I'm sixth in line. You folks can bet I'll be keeping an eye on those ahead of me on the list

Prison Riot! Confirmation and Discussion Thread
def replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ah, what I wouldn't give for a barrel of space meth right now. I'd just dip my hand in and snort it back. Oh my God it would be good. Derwar Gravis is my name. Keep me fed and I won't eat you -
Every other thing I wrote doesn't back it up, so I'd suggest taking it in as a whole

Well, it's hard to commend people for dying early, since I don't get to see their game. As well, since people are using PMs, I can't see what they're doing there. Rick was killed for being a good player that Hinck was scared of. He did nothing in thread that deserved killing. After that, for a few nights, people were night killed for having abilities, not for their gameplay. For town, the standouts for me were the people I said; Rufus/Pandora, Kiel, and Murdock, and I'll give a commendation to Flitwick and Badboy for participation, even if they were on the wrong track. And it doesn't mean other players were bad. There were things that pissed me off, for example Pie's rule break day one was one, but I don't think that means they suck either. Pie's play overall was a lot better than it was in previous games, since he wasn't a wall flower, and I told him as much in the afterlife writeboard. In Baritones, I talked to Zepher early on about his gameplay and how I appreciated it. In thread, he was writing a lot, and I thought that was ideal town. In this case, he played quieter since he was the SK, and I appreciate that.
-
I can understand you don't appreciate that criticism, but don't think I called you a shitty player I never said anything that implied you should spew anything all day and end up alive to be a good player. I do think that the people scum target night one tends to be someone they want to take out early based on past gameplay. And overall, they are usually better players than the town left at the end, who are generally left behind since they're not making a difference. This game had a few town left behind for that reason, same with Baritones, Bloodbrick I, Belville. I can give you examples from each game if you like. So, town surviving to the end is not necessarily something to be proud of. And it doesn't mean you suck either, it just means you have to work on things. Basically, you took what I wrote and stretched it to extremes that I didn't mean. Do you really think I meant that sacrificing yourself on day one makes you a hero? The bottom line for me is that EB players, overall (meaning, not in every case), play a conservative game. Meaning, there is much less in thread discussion, there is a strong herd mentality (six out of seven votes in this game were unanimous, it's very hard to analyze those voting patterns). Usually, forced day one votes result in very scattered votes that are of interest later, but it seems not to be so on EB. As well, people avoid accusations since others might jump on them for it, but that is also very important in the long term game, seeing who accuses who. All of this leads to a somewhat boring game, both to play and to host. As I already wrote somewhere in this thread, if all town were pro-active, scum would have a much harder job hiding. In this game, it was incredibly easy since they had a lot of townies who weren't doing much, aka "surviving". I'm going to throw out the baseball analogy that I'll have to stop using soon before it gets annoying. In a baseball game, all the players on the field are equally attentive. If some guy on the field was checking his cell phone, the other players would be pissed. For the duration of the game, you should pay attention and participate. In mafia terms, I'm going to say that level of participation would be an hour a day, of reading the thread, PM'ing, and posting. And I don't think EB games get that level of participation. That's my opinion. I would like you to keep playing Big Cam. I'd like to see you get to the point where you feel you made a difference to your teammates in the game, more than just surviving.

Thanks

If it had been the patients list instead of the players list, somebody would be bitching about things for a different reason. It looked nice on day one to have all the players' patient profiles together. That's it. In the first Bloodbrick, I accepted the criticism I felt fair (ie. the photographer role was a bad idea). In this case, I understand that the pistol killer should have been represented better from day one, and admitted as much before any player frustration came up. But the notion that the NPC wasn't NPC enough is something I don't care for. It was discussed enough on the writeboard, then here, and at this point, it's annoying. I realize you think his NPC status was questionable, I got it. No need to tell me again. I've made up my mind on this small matter. If you want to explain it to the rest of the world in more detail, feel free

It does not apply to mafia, at least not EB mafia, which uses much more story telling than is usually done. Often for the sake of narrative, an NPC host is used, and they are not killable. Bloodbrick had one, the Coming Darkness had one, same as Baritones, the Forest, Belville, etc, etc, and they aren't killable. At one point in the Forest, I felt I'd found a loophole. I was being railroaded for being framed, and Hinck had foolishly brought Shadows back as a tree stump (http://mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Tree_Stump), Shadows wasn't playing, but he was a player. So I voted for him, and Hinck yanked him out of the game. What a cheat! Anyway, in that game, there was a magic baker NPC, and I would never have considered voting for them. The main reason being voting for NPCs is not part of mafia.
-
I would recommend going on about it. The more you do, the more correct your attempt to vote the NPC out will be He was a patient, listed with the other patients. He was listed as an NPC. NPC means non-playing character. I can break the term "non-playing character" up into smaller parts if they aren't clear enough for you. Sorry to go on about it, but he was an NPC And, for the record, Pelly will always exist in our hearts and minds, but I have no intention of putting him into a sequel. His main role in the game was scribe/walrus-worshipper.
-
Sorry, I missed that. And Cornelius, I'm not riled up at all, I just want to be clear that if people are saying that the game was unfair over that point, that they are implying it would have been more fair the other way. And with Pelly, you wrote that he told you the walrus were all scum, so I needed to clarify that, and it's been clarified He was an NPC, and that was about it. No more or less than the Cross-Dressing Construction Man. In the first Bloodbrick, there was an interactive character, Henry, so on that level, I can understand the assumption. But, and I say this quite seriously, as much as possible, I don't want to repeat myself. I've hosted three games here, and all were really their own thing. If/when Bloodbrick III happens, it will also have its own thing, so don't look to other games to figure out the tricks of it.
-
I just went through my messenger trying to see where I told you the walrus were all scum, and I can't see it. The two responses you got were: and A number of people sent 'Pelly' PMs, and I generally ignored it, but at a point I sent you a reply. It was a mixture of playfulness and being tired of people thinking Pelly was playing. It really wasn't useful information. And I really was tired of people thinking Pelly was playing. As for the final pistol kill, do you honestly think it would have been more fair to show it as a walrus, thereby concretely giving away Dragonator's allegiance? (That's a serious question for you and for anybody who thinks the game was unfair.) I think that would have been absolutely unfair to the scum. Assuming that an all-black meant it was town is not correct. I can understand that it wasn't clear as the previous nights had been, leading to that assumption, but that pic was meant to mean 'anonymous' and not town. It was an all-black figure, not an angel or something happy. Nobody asked me to clarify it at the time, and nobody brought it up in thread. If pressed, I would have clarified that it meant anonymous. I think it is a matter of frustration the weekend after the game that it is such a key point, but I hope the people in town realize that that was the best choice, and not carry that frustration with them.
