The money should be contributed to making frequent backups of the DB at least once a week so that if the DB does crash, which it has, people won't loose months of posts and blog entries. As much as I'd like BZP to be as fast as possible, I'd much rather not loose significant amount of my posts.
-
But the EOP isn't one of the BM moons! Man o man, things are getting worse on BZP. The current Premier to Normal ratio is 3. BUT, the premier list has been restored! Sadly I'm still not on it.
-
True, those things are hard to replace. Only EB and BFM were never part of BZP, and there wasn't a massive fight or foreshadowing leading up to the BZP crash, it just crashed. As for a member influx, I doubt it would be rather big. EB shows up on the end of the page for "BIONICLE forum" on google, and the age restriction of this site will deter 75% of BIONICLE fans who seek a replacement for BZP.
-
That's probably just a result of the board being offline for an extended amount of time. And don't worry, BZP probably keeps a log of who they made premier, and even if they didn't, lots of people know you've got a blog = premier. (On that logic, I have a Blog, and I'm not premier...I can't make new entries in it though. ) No offence to you, but 90% of your blog entries are completely random aren't they? I feel more sorry for those who were planning contests or comunity projects via their blogs.

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Thanks for the tip! 25% off is better nowadays considering we've only had 15% off sales recently. -
Seconded! What do you mean "noo Poland"? For me, I never get books in NZ stores until half a year later, so Yay Internet, Noo I can't read Polish!
-
You make the post loss sound not that bad, but then I realise how much has happened since August '08. Also, if this problem has affected multiple IPB websites, why hasn't EB suffered from anything?
-
I'd think that the more purple there is, the more likely people will notice the colour problems. Although what mania3 said makes a lot more sense.
-
It won't be. Even if everything goes catastrophically wrong and the hosting server of BZP blows up in fire, BZP will remake the forums again elsewhere. Even if all the posts and data is lost, lots of people may leave, but there would still be plenty of people who would rejoin a new BZP. And currently, the situation is very minor compared to that, so we should be sweet.
-
What TLG probably meant in their non-purple statement is that they won't be using purple as a main colour in their sets anymore, unless they fix the colour difficulties. However, the Ambush in Cairo set has only one purple piece, so most consumers aren't going to notice the purple inconsistencies, because they wouldn't have a second purple piece from the set to compare it to.

Yeah, but that'll get us a neat little story in around 3 months time. I want my weekly story-shots NOW!
-
The worst part is that I can't remember what was in those months! XD Oh wait, Toyfair coverage was in Feb wasn't it?
-
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do, especially for news coverage. The problem is that site backups are storage space consuming, so unless one of the admins has a spare 1TB hardrive for BZP storage lying around in his house, site backups wouldn't happen that frequently.
-
That would be way too much Star wars droid gone wrong if they did it. Not that I wouldn't want the parts though. Dark Blue curved panels = YES.
-
Great, apparently the database crash has lots posts, and they're still trying to figure out how many. I hope it will be back up soon. At least we have EB!
-
Change your name to what? I agree with Stronius: Dark red hands = very useful for one o' me MOCs.
-
Doubt it, it says on the board that they're experiencing database issues, and that'll be up once they fix the problem. New features would be nice though.
-
So what's wrong with the BZP server, as in cause and estimated downtime?

Pwease?

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I don't think any of the new impulses have been released in NZ yet. But when they are, they'll be in all stores around the same time. However, Kmart got the Power Miner sets earlier than all the other retailers, so it's likely that they'll get the impulses slightly earlier too. -
Right about now we should be getting Bunda to remake your Certavus in brown. With great pieces comes great MOCing responsibility y'know.
-
I think it's the same set, it's just gold because LEGO has probably realised that Yellongu is close enough to gold to be able to reap the benefits of having a gold movie character without the extra cost of making the set actually gold. In other words, all promotional pictures of Mata Nui will have him gold, apart from the set itself.

IMO, the Metus mask is too Metus, and although it does have a less unique personality than the Strakk helmet, it still says Metus too much for me. Plus there's the storyline question as to why one of the most legendary and powerful Glatorian has the same mask as a simple Agori villager, or vice versa.

But that'll only make the topic less incredible, and we'll never get to 1000 pages! Y'know, if you don't like the sand stalker, you should check out the Gunnar-Stalker. It's like a sand stalker, only it has a 4 story "water" carrying hump and a rug.
