Sorry to double post but: New glatorian masks. Want badly.

Do you mean like have those parts in Gold and the rest black, or vice versa? Either way, I suppose we all know the real reason why Mata Nui isn't gold is that he'd out-cool the other sets if he was, and BZPers would have no reason to stick with BIONICLE once they got that elusive Gold Ignika.
-
No, my logic is more of some price raise to cover the costs of the materials (Gold plastic wouldn't be much more, but definitely more, else Mata Nui would've been 50% gold in the first place), some of the price raise the cost of recolouring all of Mata Nui's pieces (none of them currently exist in gold), and the remaining price increase because come on, it's an all gold set, why wouldn't LEGO try to raise the price? Then again, the price raise wouldn't need to be too much, but that would just lead to the second scenario I mentioned, where the gold Mata Nui would ruin the sales of Yata Nui.
-
The American price might've been a bit cheaper, I'm not sure... The Skopio should be $125 or $130 thanks to the $5 price increase of this year.
-
No, that would be too kind for the Gold-Ignika diehards if there was hope like that. Although I am thinking of the green/trans-glitter pink prototype.... Of course, the other alternative is to have an all Gold Mata Nui with a Inika style remold of the Ignika.
-
We're not too sure what Greg meant, but it's probably a Tuma-sized titan set. Releasing a golden Mata Nui would be more pointless than Yetrax, because it either be more expensive (because of the gold plastic), and not sell because of it, or the same price and the original wouldn't sell because the gold version is so much cooler. Axalara is $80 I think, and Skopio will be the same.

I'd love a set like that. Currently we aren't getting a gold ignika, and we're never going to get a gold 2008 ignika, so a treasure drove full of gold pieces and a co-injection Ignika would be a dream come true to me. Of course, that's just me, and I'm sure lots of other people will switch to neo-shifters if BIONICLE did that to them.

Video Of Bionicle On Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Brickthing replied to dieselboy m's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I'm sure the publicity isn't bad for LEGO and that LEGO doesn't mind, but are the TV Producers actually allowed to randomly use copyrighted material like that? It is neat though. -
My point is that it doesn't make sense that in a Sparta-like society where all Skrall are incredible warriors, that they have the potential to get as buff as Stronius by working out. If they had that potential, then they would at least be slightly less wiry than the common Skrall currently is. Anyways, my complaint is moot point now, because Greg has said that Stronius is part of a different class from normal Skrall as the reason for his build. Plz explain. Ok, I get it now, it's a thornax ring. What happened to the squishyness?
-
That better not have been what LEGO was thinking when designing and pricing the set.

Looking and leaving is OK remember?

What if we've already seen the bigger Mata Nui set? He could be on Skopio! Or, it could be a UCS Teridax. That would be awesome, but I suppose that would've been at Toyfair if it existed. I presume Mata Nui will make himself bigger to battle Tuma in the movie finale by absorbing a couple of Skrall. That would make more sense me thinks.
-
Don't worry, it could be mistaken for an angry BIONICLE now that you think about it. Although the real reason I'm getting it and Dr. Inferno's Mecha is to terrorise the good citizens of my tabletown. Coupled with my already-terrorising Zesk, they will make the ultimate team.
-
That would be my complaint. Arnold Schwarzenegger is bigger than you because of him working out and his genetics. Working out to get bigger just doesn't seem right for a Skrall, because they're all already strong warriors yet they're thin and wiry. If they can get bigger by working out, I don't see why they aren't all Stronius' size as well. According to the OGD, it turns out that Stronius is part of yet another Skrall class, so his bulkiness is genetic. I didn't like it with Tuma, and I don't like it with Stronius either. I just object to the your place in the social system being predetermined by how you are made. It doesn't leave much opportunity for those down the bottom to near the top.

Yeah, those readers may be directed to younger children, but they have illustrations. Don't stop the illustrations.

Oh wow. I come home after work to see three pages full of waffle for me to read through. I'd like to voice my thoughts on the trailer discussion: Firstly, while most movies do have trailers that set moods, this one doesn't, because it's a feature length advertisement for a range kid's toys. What it does do is get all those kids who are going to watch this movie and buy those toys all super hyped up through the use of a fast-talking narrator and a giant explosion, followed by a shiny gold hero who appeared out of nowhere. It's not meant to be artistic, it's meant to hype the 9 year-olds up for buying. Secondly, people have been throwing around bad animation insults. Apart from the improperly executed explosion, there's nothing bad about the animation at all. This is partly because there isn't much, just a few nebulae and rocks floating in space and Mata Nui raising his arm. We can't judge the animation yet, because we've seen almost none of it. Plus, we know that the character animation was done with motion capture, so I doubt that it's going to be that bad. As for the graphics, those planets, nebulae and impact craters are beautiful, especially considering this is a direct-to-DVD advertisement for kids. Despite me not liking the more set accurate direction that they've taken for the characters, the style still looks good. From a storyline perspective it doesn't make sense, which makes two different options contradicting each other, but neither is bad. On the topic of dialogue, we haven't had any yet, but expect cheesy. Face it, it's a kid's movie, and there's a bunch of strong exotic combat robots fighting each other in an arena. When has there not been cheesy battle cries and poorly made puns? All superhero comics have them, as do TV shows, especially when the target audience is kids. In the past, review of the movies have specifically said that while the parents get lost completely trying to watch it, the kids know and love it all. Expect no different for this movie. If you hope for a Star Wars-like movie, you'll be more disappointed that you needed to be when you realise that this isn't Star Wars, it's The Clone Wars. Finally, because this is going to be a purely kid-directed movie, and there may be a good chance that you'll just find yourself picking of the mistakes (What is there to make the Ignika's comet trail if the Ignika is unharmed when it lands? What makes Mata Nui when there is just sand and not micro-organisms as with Toa Ignika? How come Mata Nui is gold with a gold weapon when the set is yellow with a silver weapon?), it would be best to invest in my hobby - appreciating the animation and graphics of the movie and wonder how the artistically achieved that instead of sulking on the plot holes that are there because the kids don't care. All 3 BIONICLE movies where amazing with their effects and graphics, and this one has been said to be a lot better, so I personally am gonna love this movie to pieces, if not for the story, but for the megabloking-cool visuals. Trailer discussion over. On another note, I hope Mata Nui's character will be solemn and cold, because if his character is emotional and tries to make jokes, it will seriously through out the epicness of his previous form if we try to apply that character to that form. I also need a storyline reason for why Stronius is so big. And it better not be a genetic thing or from month of working out in the Skrall gym. Mechanical implants might be OK though... It's good that Kiina is definitely the girl. Despite her not being that feminine, she's probably the most feminine out of the group, and the only other person who's name sounds feminine is Mata Nui, who we already know isn't. What is the point of vehicle fights in the arena? If the arena fights were meant to settle disputes to avoid costly wars, why the megabloks do they waste money on maintenance and repair of giant vehicles when hand to hand combat works fine too? I do hope we get a good storyline justification for that.

He probably would do, because he's made all the basic Av-Matoran body parts, and he's only got Tanma to fight Raanu so far, which hardly makes any sense.
-
You being a thirteen year old means that you're definitely too young to see. Trust me.
-
Technically, yes it is, but it isn't like we haven't known that since we saw the first leaks.

Contest? What contest? Anyway, Bink knows not much than we do: Looks like I'm not the only one going dumpster-diving. I don't know for sure they're authentic, but I'm not the only one to have access to these elements. So they could be authentic, but I wouldn't recommend bidding. The price is very high, and I don't see the collector value in them. Thanks. :) I was wondering also about the particular parts that there are, and if they'd be made like that. The Krika head has it's secondary colour at the tip of the head, while the normal piece has the secondary red inside the piece and all throughout. Did the prototype co-injection pieces that you have/saw vary this much from the final design in terms of where the secondary colour is mainly? Thanks again, Onuta Nuva Coinjection tests are all different, so it's hard to comment based on small pictures. IMO, the space scenery was good, although the explosion and narrator were hard to like.

Can moderators see what option you voted for in the polls, or is it encrypted into the server records?

We need Bink's word on this. They could be authentic, but they seem like fakes taking advantage on the fact that BZP knows that Bink has prototype pieces.

I didn't like them too much, but they're better than the current ones in terms of displaying the characters as actually Bio-mechanical. In the trailer, Mata Nui just looks like a set with his technic holes filled in. Speaking of Mata Nui, I can't believe they're portraying him as gold when the set is yellongu. Also, I can't believe Mata Nui is making himself gold. It's cool and all, but subtlety would be the best option.

Here in NZ, it's only $15, which is the equivalent of around $7.50 US, and I find it great value for money, from a useful parts perspective. Compared to impulse sets, which are $7 or $5.50 each, it's like 4 Impulses for the price of 2 and a half. I bought 2 of them, to help add to my city. I bought them mainly for the chair, minifigs, briefcase and container crate. My only problem with this set, it the use of street sign stickers, which means my city has no new street signs. Even the police impulse set had a printed speed sign, so I don't know why this set didn't. Overall though, this set is great to stock up on minifigs and signpost stands! I'd recommend it for sure.

We know, it was just a theory that we loved and held like fact up until now, and not all of us have seen the trailer yet. However, the givaway fact that it isn't the EO is that the moon is rocky, and the EO is covered in water.
