New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I recommend you frequently check the Farmers website. They often have 20% sales on all Toys, and last time I was there, they had both of those indy sets. -
New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I noticed the mark-down on those sets too. There won't be a LEGO sale on this week at Kmart, but there may be one next week. Hopefully the sets might still be there when there is a sale, then I'd probably pick them up for a load of parts. -
Whether somebody would want to risk their precious LEGO bricks or not aside, could something like this actually work using just proper LEGO bricks? I envision that some kind of oversized LEGO glider with technic wings covers in cloth would work, but I don't think LEGO Motors have enough power to lift the weight of themselves or the rest of the plane.

BIONICLE with Avatar style elemental control = more win than I can handle. Having a dedicated art/skill for each element brings proper meaning to one Toa being able to do more with an element than another, as opposed to "I am Nuva/Hagah, therefore my Elemental Power Reserve is bigger than yours, therefore I am stronger than you." IMO, it's a pity that BIONICLE has so many elements, because the 4 elements of Avatar work a lot better because they are more flexible in their usage. Water extends to steam, ice and anything that is a water based liquid (like blood). In BIONICLE, a Toa of Ice cannot control his Ice if it gets too warm, and a Toa of Water cannot control her water if it gets too hot or cold. They're controlling the same thing though! One sad thing in BIONICLE that isn't in Avatar is the restriction of elements to the hands and weapons. The result is that the Toa are always hurling bolts of elements from the hands or weapons like some Wizard Duel, and it prevents all those cool elemental uses like a Toa of Fire breathing fire like a dragon or flying via flaming jet feet.
-
I've been asking that question too. After years of getting tons of them as the generic hand, why do we not get them now that there are proper hands? It seems more pointless than the Inika having new heads!

Watch it online then, only if you've got a video-friendly bandwidth that it... A disturbing thought came to me recently - because the Baranus is half wheel, half ball-jointed animal thing and connected together with chain, the swooshability of this thing is going to go right down compared to the other vehicles isn't it? I mean, Baranus isn't going to go fast enough to make those wheels worthwhile unless the Spikit is hovering in midair being pulled by your hand.

Whoops, sorry. I didn't realise that that info was still a spoiler...How far is the screening in your country? Anyway, I blacked it out in my post, so black out your quote of my post as well, in case anybody else thinks it's a spoiler.

Pretty misprints and exclusive recolors won @ BBC #51

You should photoshop teeth marks onto them and post that on BZP. -
Onua is one of the few BIONICLE Deus Ex Machinas that I like. Although in the RoS I really wonder how bad Makuta's surveylance is when he consciously toys with the group by swallowing a member, and then projects his voice through the Exo-Toa, and then he just ignores Onua as he digs a endless chasm beneath the Exo-Toa? When you are the air and the earth, I'd think you should notice a disruption like that, and even if he didn't, why did he just drop attention and leave once he confronted the group, as opposed to watching the capture follow through. Getting back to Deus Ex Machinas, I hope we won't see Vezon back soon, because he is now a Deus Ex Machina in it's worst form, and he's already screwed around with Helryx, Keetongu, Vultraz and Mazeka enough already. Personally I hope Vezon either dies or looses his his power, because Inter-dimensional travel is almost as bad as time-travel, which is , because those kind of powers can fix any storyline problem.

Just don't kill Onua and I'm fine.

No, no, don't fall into the trap of tricky answers. Greg says that the statement is not accurate because the person asked if SM turned into BM. SM splitting into many pieces including BM is not the same as SM turning into BM. The second part of the question was true, but because the first part wasn't, the question isn't accurate because it isn't entirely right. He then answers that SM didn't "turn" into anything, which it didn't, it cracked into hundreds of pieces (most of which were small, aside from the three planets). The last part of his question doesn't confirm or deny anything, because the theory is that Bara Magna was part of Spherus Magna as a regional area before The Shattering.
-
He can decrease the air pressure so rapidly that their insides and eyes pop out. Does that work on bio-mechanical beings, or just us? On another note, I'm trying really hard not to walk into topics like these and stomp on the resistors of the theory. I don't know why Greg keeps jumping around the matter now, because it's so obvious thanks to the movie trailer and other past hints. Topic in BZP: 2) No, that is not accurate. Spherus Magna did not "turn into" anything and the Agori on Bara Magna always lived there. And he said that dozens of times before, yet almost all of you think they are the same thing!

Damn you're lucky then.

I just don't want to be the shop clerk who has to come and ask you if you're going to pay for those... -
Unless somebody really screwed up the prices at your store, Vultraz was $40.

As much as you and I would buy them, part-tubs wouldn't sell that well to the general public - to the non-BIONICLE obsessed eye, it would just be a box full of randomly coloured parts. Then again, I'd do my best to buy all the tubs in my local toystore if they did make them, so I guess it could be a good idea. -
Sounds right to me, although Baranus and Kaxium should be the other way around, and Skopio is probably a lot more, because the US Price for Skopio is more than Axalara isn't it? Also, Cendox is definitely $45 not $25. The canisters are $25. If Kaxium can't split it would get the prize for most obvious action feature not included.
-
He's been doing that for quite a few topics recently. Not that they're not good MOCs, but the discussion on them is kinda over Avohkahs.
-
Not sure, but I think the US Prices are out there. They're bound to be around the same as last year's equivalent set prices.

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Brickthing replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That's just a colour issue. In that same folder, the yellow one is Sulrurix, and Glaciator is light-blue. There isn't a yellow or light-blue rock monster, so it's safe to assume that the colours have been amped up to high, and light-blue is dark-blue, yellow is neon green, and green is dark-green. Therefore, Sulfurix is the neon green monster that comes in the Crystal King and Mamma Monster forms, and Boulderax is the green monster that comes with the Mining Mech. -
I'm getting Vastus, and not just because I get all the sets. I think he is visually amazing, and the only strange thing about him is his torso design, which can't be worse than Gresh's torso hole, which as been mostly ignored.

All the Agori are great compared to other years, and they're a great step up from the already great Av-Matoran. Please take a picture of battle before you clean up yes?
-
The explosions part wasn't that great, but the make-Makuta-pay-even-if-I-die was cliché, but appropriate for the situation.

"A Toa of Earth learns to … excuse the pun … keep his ear to the ground." I wonder if Greg's trying to get back at BZPers in anyway?
-
It is? On closer examination I suppose the spike on the red mask could just the be other foot armour. Ah well. I hoped and dreamed. It would've been cool though, if they had changed the enemy masks slightly to represent other Glatorian. It would've also made the game a lot more cannon, seeing there isn't much sense in fighting or playing as Malum if he's an exile. But then again, there shouldn't be a Zesk in the marketplace either...
