It's a great prize because it's a free set that has limited exclusiveness, but it's not at good as a prototype part. That's all. You're not being mean. I too agree that the winners weren't the best MOCs, but they were the best MOCs that fit LEGOs criteria (which was evidently more specific than what we were told). All three winners were bulky, one-eyed, hunchbacked mechs that all had a similar chest and lower foot structure. How we could've guessed that that's what LEGO wanted is just luck.

I agree with you that prototype pieces are way better, because an unreleased set is only rare till it's released, as opposed to unique one-of-a-kind parts that will always be rare. I think that the contest was a good one, but it seemed that LEGO was looking for one kind of Mech in particular, which made it a shot in the dark as to whether you'd make that kind or not.

That logic doesn't make any sense. The traitor bossed Tuma around by claiming (bluff or not) that he knew how to destroy the Skralls' worst enemy, not by physical strength - Tuma even nearly choked the traitor to death, so that only re-enforces the possibility of the traitor being an Agori.

Wow, those figs are awesome, and are at risk of selling me some of the sets I didn't think I was going to buy! I don't see why Doctor D.Zaster couldn't have been slime-face - it would've still made sense, and they could've used the D.Zaster name-pun for a different villain. I really want Dollar Bill for his hair, classy evening jacket and the diamond head! Is Magma Commander's head trans-orange? If so, I want that minifig...

From what I know, usually all the exclusive sets of the event are sold at the event, because there are many people who simply buy loads of such exclusives to sell them off on Ebay or Bricklink for profit.

Wow, that pimped Mata Nui beats top-hat Mata Nui by 50 points. I have to try making one of those! I'm suspecting that Berix is probably the traitor, otherwise the Berix found by Tarix part of the first comic makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The traitor is part of the main storyline, which is for 8 year olds, so that scene would simply be foreshadowing, not a red herring to throw the older minority of fans who would get it off. And then the Movie Berix with Skrall concept probably wasn't meant for public release, so it's likely to reinforce that Berix is the traitor.

Wow, absolutely nothing happened in that chapter, they just discussed things we already knew. All the new details had already been released in the OGD.

I honestly don't know about that. Glatorian are 85% Organinc, 15% Mechanic, but whether or not that includes the armour I don't know.

I know, but the overall shape of him looks more streamlined and squid/frog-like thin as opposed to withered frail thin. The cracks and path-work repair that you've got on him help make him look tattered, but the rest of the armour looks like it was made for his thin frame, as opposed to being armour on a withered frame that was made for the bulkier prime condition that he used to be in thousands of years ago.

Seconded. The problem for me is that I want some of them and all the BIONICLE and a lot of other LEGO sets as well. Stronius is still most likely metru red, because he was that at toyfair, and Metru Red seemed to be one of the defining bad-megablocks features about him that prevented him from being just-another-skrall. I think that's just the Cenock at a different angle, albeit a lovely motorbike-like one.

Squidman FTW. I love the colour scheme and the hunched back, but there isn't really enough BIONICLE-like details to make it look BIONICLE-like. Also, he seems a bit too slender for a Glatorian, which he is, no matter how battle-damaged.

Yup, they did that for the other movies as well. I hope that all the vehicles feature a reasonable amount in the movie, and that their drivers get to be distinguished characters as opposed to the vehicle getting all the fame and the driver being an add-on.

As another possibility for a diarama, I think it would be neat if you could do a Kashykk-Clone-Wars display. There's great possibilities for land/trees/water scenery, and Wookie vehicles would look quite amazing.

Try right-clicking and saving-link-as. That usually works for the stubborn pictures. Or switch to a more reliable browser like Firefox if you haven't already. I like the way the movie characters still have the life-counter, but it's just subtly greyed out. I can't think of it's purpose storyline-wise though. I also like how Ackar and Berix's helmets look different despite being based of the same piece.

Just some Linkin Park song I think... I'm peeved - the Matoran symbols in the GB Lair are just gibberish.

Epic Wins. Now that I've seen a 360 of the new style, I love it. It's set-accurate with holes filled in and the odd extra detail. Interesting thing on the characters is that the colours seem to be affliation - Blue is good, Orange is neutral and Red is bad. I'm loving that gigantic Inika foot in the background of the first concept art. Is anyone else beginning to think that Mata Nui will inhabit that body at the end of the movie and that will be the form that is to be the rumoured Titan set?

Thanks for the review! The figures definitely sell the set for me. A Queen with a non-screaming face, a Figure with pearl-gold colouring, and a Jester! And the cry-face of the Jester has so many possibilities for MOCs!
