O.o Wow, that concept art kinda proves that the designers did try to make Gali more feminine compared to their initial ideas...(Although I still can't work out the waffle-eye in the final) That Olmak looks like the prototype Jetrax version of Antroz' mask for sure. It was probably too Olmak like though. Great find though. Did you buy it so that you could scan and donate us the art?

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
No, nor the Chef. Hopefully they'll appear with the 2 new SP3 impulses though. -
Thornax Kohlii... They've already got the nice GA logo, so there's no point rehiring somebody just for the 2.

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I saw a couple of Endors for $240 in The Warehouse Albany, and Farmers (same place) had all three new Castle sets as well as the reds sports car. -
Is it likely that the minifig will be avaliable in other stores for countries that don't have LEGO stores? I'd really love to get my hands on a couple. Also, I think the hands are pearl-gold, not flesh.

They seem to be a TNG cut piece. Unfortunately the special edition sets seem to be cutting it down with the recolours, so it's very doubtful that they'd do it now after avoiding it all 2008 when they badly needed recoloured cut eyes.

What do you do with the containers?
Brickthing replied to HumanPackMule's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Possibly washing the canister in warm water or with soap to remove the glue? Aside from what I said earlier for my first-hand sets, I often get a couple of canisters from bulk second-hand lots that I buy. I've got way too many of these, so I use them for random purposes, such as sorting my Kanohi/Krana collections, broken pieces (2008 ), Zamors and even non-LEGO things like the completely unrelated toy parts that come riddled throughout bulk auctions. I probably should find a better use for the canisters though and clear out my non-LEGO stuff canisters. My Megabloks collection is getting disturbingly large. -
One pro of deep linking is that I can see the image as I'm typing a reply. It looks like quite an interesting MOC, and I like how it looks like the kind of MOC that uses SYSTEM, despite it not using any. The yellow is good too, and that goes well with the grey. However, the red looks out of place, and the red Pakari doesn't seem enough to justify the odd red 1-axles around the rest of the body. Maybe it would've been better to make the Pakari orange or gold to match the flame, and then leave out the red altogether? I like the torso build, is there waist articulation? The circles on the shoulders and waist look quite good. The limbs aren't so good though. The legs are spaced a bit wide, and they would look better with knees, although I like the tread idea. Custom feet with yellow would be better though, as the current ones look boring and undersized. The arms are quite nice, but once again the red axles in the fingers seem unnecessary and would be better in black, and possibly with yellow ++ 1/2 beams on either side of the hordika heads. It looks like you're showing off an Ackar that you got, but why just the flame, and why on a mechanical mecha like this?

They will, because you'll be able to see the eyes and details on the Glatorian head better. Those heads don't photograph well, but they look great. I just hope it's a flip-sided mask.

I don't have those sets, so I guess I missed that.

Brick Built Switch for ExoForce Light Brick?
Brickthing replied to Davey's topic in General LEGO Discussion
How big is the model you want to use it with? If it's big enough, I'm sure you could conceal a weighting mechanism in the model to keep the button pressed, which may work better than a rubberband, because it won't wear out. However, if you plan to use it for a display, it would be better to mod the brick or use a different light so that you can have an external power source, because the little battery of the Exo-Force light may not last for so long when it's always on. -
A Chrome BIONICLE Hordika figure? I believe these guys were the predecessors the Mars Mission aliens. Personally, I want a Chrome Fabuland Cat.

Karzahni had a healthy number of recolours (Blue Ruru, Green Mantax + Pridak feet, Gunmetal Lehvak Kal shields, Red Mahri tube, Green Carapar armour...), but that was in 2007. Icarax had squat aside from the remolded mask, Mazeka had none and Jetrax only had the Yellow shields. With Mata Nui, the choice of parts seem to show that it's the final. No set designer would go through the trouble to design the set in such a way that it can be made from existing goldish (albeit 3 different shaded) parts, just to go and recolour them to one same colour when they are so close to the previous colour. Especially not after the official retail catalogues have been sent out with this multicoloured look, so if they were going to make a one-shaded Mata Nui, we would be seeing the one shade already. Regardless of the colour and the bad design points, I'm beginning to think that this set will still look pretty badass when posed correctly, especially on my desk by my computer. It's still Mata Nui, so once good photography and posing hides the flaws of this set, he's bound to be cool in a titan version. Also, the evidence pointing towards the Ignika being a gold 2008 version is making me very very happy. Somebody might finally be able to make the 2007 commercials in stop-motion!

I like the shop quite a lot, and it would be fantastic to see it next to the pizzeria of the City Corner along with stickers to give it a store sign and boxart on mini lego-scale lego boxes.

That was an interesting chapter...Kiina has a temper, and Agori can throw up... Whitefang - Thankyou for stopping the madness that was occurring in the other discussion topic, and kindly reopening a new one for the rest of us. I hope that kind of spamming never happens again. I've collected some other set photos for the first post: 8993: Kaxium V3 8994: Baranus V7 8995: Thornatus V9 8996: Skopio XV-1 20009: Click - I'm not sure about this set number though, where did you find it? 8998: Toa Mata Nui I've resized the pictures and put them on my Brickshelf. Feel free to copy them to yours if you'd prefer them to be in the same place as the other photos. I couldn't find a non-box version of Cendox though, but I'm sure there is one. In regards to moderation of this forum, will you be keeping watch until JINZONINGEN is able to return? EDIT: Just looking at the Thornatus picture I posted, I spotted tan vehicle pannels, and sideways long ball socket arms in black/grey.

The reason most of us are fearing another Galidor is because the press release hinted about a "new way of playing with LEGO" multiple times. That quote only makes things worse, because I doubt TECHNIC is the appropriate way to make organic creatures like humans and aliens, and it wouldn't make sense for LEGO to make a such a close licenced competitor to it's own successful action figure line.

I just got this set today, and it's a great set! I love the buildings and the bus is magnificent. However, on the page of the instructions telling you to sort the pieces properly, the graphics were all garbled up behind the giant red cross. Does anyone else have this? On another note, now that I can see the detail of this picture in my instructions, it appears that there is a man in the background who has the terror face and is running from something...

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I doubt Toyworld would do it. They don't make enough on individual sets to justify putting some old ones on clearance, so it's more profitable for them to wait until somebody like you sees the old set and jumps at the opportunity to get it. Bigger stores like The Warehouse do it all the time though, because they always want to have the newest sets on the shelves all the time. -
Ackar sucks too. *hint hint*

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I just got back from Farmers Albany and they had all the IJ sets except the Cemetery Battle. However, they also had the new City Corner, Camper, Tow Truck and Car Station. So I got the City Corner for a reasonable $70. -
What do you do with the containers?
Brickthing replied to HumanPackMule's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I keep all my set canisters and boxes, and I use them for display/storage of their sets. -
I think I've done that before, but you can definitely negotiate with the seller via the contact store form. It's entirely up to the seller though, and it would depend on his/her reasons for setting the minimum order price in the first place.

Thanks for the review, I didn't notice those snake details from other pictures. Would you mind resizing the pictures to 800x600 though?

Along with the black spike armour that VBBN mentioned, the dark red hands and possibly the dark-red short joints (new style) are recolours. If you mean the recolour on Gelu, it's the white inika armour, that's new.
