New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Yup, that's the one. I went to Kmart Albany today, and they had the Robo Attack for only $77, which is cheaper than the $100 on S@H. I hope that's not a mistake, because it'll be an awesome deal when the next LEGO sale comes on. -

Check above the shelves as well, if that's where your Toyworld keeps their newest LEGO sets. Chances are that if they've got it, they're keeping it of the shelves, so that they don't need to loose 20% (and most of their profit) from it. They might not appreciate you trying to buy it if you find it, but you might be able to talk them into selling just one. My Toyworld took their Echo Base sets off the shelves for the duration of the sale. -
The team gets separated, so one lost Glatorian could have a side-story like that. Maybe he walks into a dome filled with evil hungry creatures, and tries to escape?
-
If the Ignika gets smashed in, it starts leaking life, then Stronius really is in trouble... In TLR, I think the purpose of the loincloth is to give the Glatorian a more Roman Gladiator feel.

What's this talk about a flying machine being able to blast a hole through the dome ceiling and escape? Many things can fly, but can't make enough force to ram itself through metal, rock, sand and whatever else might make up the dome roof and ground above. Even if the flying vehicle could make enough force, the impact on the ceiling would cause the unfinished and unstable dome to lose the strength that it has, causing it to collaspe in on itself, sending tonnes of rubble to most likely destroy the flying vehicle and cause the mass murder of all the other refugees and inhabitants of the dome. Hardly a good plan for even the most desperate refugees of the GS. Maybe the sink hole opens up, causing a Karda Nui-like waterfall of sand and Glatorian, which begins to pour into the dome, and also triggers the semi-working force-fields of the dome by damage to the dome roof. This force field prevents anymore sand from falling in, leaving no sink hole up above, and a refugee in a big glider type vehicle (steampunk BTW) catches the falling Glatorian on the vehicle's wings. The impact of the Glatorian and the sand on the vehicle causes the vehicle to crash land, although nobody (important) dies from the fall. Because the force-fields are imperfect unfinished prototypes of Karda Nui like fields, they are unstable, and gradually start increasing in size, destroying things near the decreasing perimeter of the dome via energy bolts. The Glatorian have to escape the dome, and could be split up in the process.

Eh? Looks to me like 2G 3A won by a bit anyway... 2G 3A || 1G 3A 3G 2A
-
The loincloth is made out of sand in actuality, so it can't be too thin in the first place. Plus, the movie is more of a cartoon style anyway.
-
Or, the sinkhole they fall into is due to the top of a dome collapsing under weight of sand and MN's Glatorian party + Vehicles, so as they fall in about half the dome caves in and closes the hole that opened. Up above, sand dunes level out slightly to fill the crater left, leaving almost no traces.

I thought you were only banned from BZP? How is it fair that you can't enter a competition for other websites/magazines?

If this serial didn't exist, we know that they would have still tried, we just don't have to read about those failures after inevitable failures.

From my City Corner instructions. I'm pretty sure it's not normal.

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I'm not sure it won't come out earlier, but a list I got from ToyPlanet and Toyworld earlier this year says November, however the Power Miner sets then the City, Star Wars and Castle sets came out considerably earlier than I expected. I read somewhere that there's going to be a LEGO Junior Robot League thing in NZ this year, which might be neat to hear more about. -

It's not Star Wars, it's like LEGO Mindstorms. NXT 2.0 is coming out in November-ish. -
Vulcanus is fine, unless somebody wants a different tribe to be less repetitive with colours (Cendox), then I can change the colour scheme. Whatever for the name, I don't really mind. I've also got my Zesk Agori, but I'll make the vehicle for him first. He might also make a good fugitive though...

Does my vote really matter anymore? Anyway: How do they explore: As a team Split off into 2 groups | All wander alone. Some are taken away, and others explore the place to find them ||||| (Some prioritising/sacrifices will be needed though. )

I can't really see you using the red shields or Lewa's mask in a MOC though... A pile of parts has 0 swooshability, and who doesn't like swooshability? Personally, if I take Axalara apart, there will just be pathetic Lewa whom I can't take apart for fear of breaking joints. So I occasionally borrow the red panels, but otherwise I leave my Axalara on top of my cupboard.

Cendox has better Technic parts, but 2 Glatorian would have more new parts/weapons.

Gotta love the Vorox in the background going "WTH"? I love the voice and character of Mata Nui so far, but he seems way too nice to match the careless GS that he has been previously. I also love the way that his movie version uses the set rather than storyline to look amazingly detailed. It makes you appreciate the detail of the plastic set a lot more. (Not that I've got it yet though... ) The only bad thing is that the accurate-to-set, over-lengthed arms make him look super-gorilla-like once animated. Also, thanks Swert for the YT link, because the streaming on BIONICLE.com isn't top-notch.

How do they explore: As a team || Split off into 2 groups | Split off into 3 groups Split into 4 All wander alone. || Villains [as sets]: One for every area |||| 2 for every area| (It would be neat if it could vary, to mix up the odds) 3 4 5 6 Where will the refugees be? Right Arm ||||| (Don't see how left or right arm matters though...) Left Arm Chest Right Leg Left Leg Head

Ooh goodie, 'cause I've got to get 2 F&S sets anyway for the sand stalker combo. Unfortunately I doubt I'll see a newer version because the old one hasn't sold at all in the shops near me. Does it apply to Tuma as well?

If you could change any one thing about Lego...
Brickthing replied to Darth Legolas's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As with box size, the bright intricate BIONICLE canisters are one of the main things that sell the product. Without them the sets wouldn't sell nearly as well, and would probably stop being made. Plus, the canisters are fun to build with whenever they come with LEGO connection points. The main thing I would change is shipping costs on S@H. The shipping to NZ or Oz is absurd for small items, and only gets more expensive. Although the shipping price caps off with a big enough purchase, I could never justify buying enough LEGO to get a decent rate on postage. -
Make the eyes glow trans-pink, then it'll be perfect.

For those of you who don't get out of the BIONICLE forum much, you should take a peek at the Eurobricks Community Castle Build. It's an awesome project where any EBer can contribute their castle module MOC that fits with some modular requirements, and then the end result will be a massive Eurobricks castle. We should do the same thing for BIONICLE, except there will be story, characters, artwork, as well as plenty of MOCs. To fit in with BIONICLE story, it could be set in a pocket dimension, where we create everything first, then make a story happen in it, presented through comics, serials and mock-sets. To keep what we've got so far from this topic, the main setting could be a destroyed GS, with the main characters trying to escape.

Radomly packed masks in larger sets would be cruel. If I didn't know about trading or Bricklink, I would need to pay for heaps of unwanted duplicates of sets in order to get all the masks. (Then again, that was done with the Rahkshi, but the want for slightly differenet kraata is less than differrent masks.)
