  1. Some great vehicles! I love them all. any chance you could do a tutorial of one of the 50's style cars? I build mostly castle but want to branch out and would love to see some of your techniques.
  2. welcome William! Looking forward to see what you have in store for your builds! 400th post thanks to the Guild!
  3. you guys certainly have a knack for building beautiful creatures and this one is no exception! Is it fully pose able?
  4. Great sculpture of a wolf then I see it opens up. Even better! A unique design as well good job.
  5. Another Great build Capt BB I really like the detail in the second floor and the attic part. And as usual your characters and story are great too And that cat is ballsy! does he not know that he is smaller than that dragon!
  6. Welcome to eurobricks. I too am a 40 something father of 3. I mainly build castle but I do have my eye on the Sopworth set! (I got Helm's Deep from the New Lord of the Ring set for Father's Day) I am heading to Legoland the last part of July, about a six hour journey for me down I-95. I have been to the one in Denmark, England and California but looking forward to the one in Florida.
  7. Looks great, I really like the barrel, how is it supported on the inside?
  8. thanks for the links! now to start getting the parts!
  9. welcome and I think lego stole my wallet, car and then opened a couple credit cards! Note to win your wife over. Build her a nice MOC. I am into castle and town mostly but as my wife likes butterflies, I build her one. It's about 14 inches wide and 9 inches long. I put it in a nice little shadow box and she is a lot more accepting of my hobby now!
  10. Welcome Attila, My grandfather is from Szigetszentmiklós. look forward to your builds
  11. Can't wait for this set. does anyone know how tall it is? I have a perfect spot for it in my TV stand if it will fit! EDIT: never mind, I should have read the initial post more thoroughly! 15.4 inches which gives me about an inch to spare!
  12. wish they had those in downtown disney when I was down. I am making a trip back down the end of July so hopefully they will have a good selection then. I am going to Charlotte next weekend so I am going to try to hit the store there so maybe they will have them even though their wall is about 1/3 the size of Orlando's
  13. this with some of the pacific northwest coast line thrown in for good measure @de Gothia enjoy those sets!
  14. Love this! I will spend more time drooling over the additional photos and details later but I love how you have split it to be a ruin on one side and how it would look in its prime on the other! Mikey
  15. Same here in South Carolina. tons of pines and oaks. We do have some very old Live Oaks here in the lowcountry of South Carolina, most are protected. This is probably the most famous http://acornsonglen.com/2011/09/03/south-carolinas-unbelievable-angel-oak/ here is a link with people next to the trunk to give it a bit more perspective estimates it is anywhere from 600-1400 years old it is pretty impressive, even more so in real life!
  16. Okay here is my hand at map making a closer view of Circardia here is the area on the original map of Avalonia
  17. Great tower and a beautiful scene. Everything seems just perfect! Congratulations DC has been a big influence on all of us. He influenced me to start MOC and become a more active poster (I have lurked for years). I started the Derfel Cardarn Appreciation Society as a way consolidate all his tutorials before he put them in a single thread. I have thought about expanding it to include is other builds (which are all great) who know maybe even some "I want be like DC" t-shirts or DCAS stickers!
  18. I started my elemental which seems to be going as planned. I also have an idea for my general layout along with a couple details. I also have a framework for a story for the scene. I feel like I am further along on this challenge than the last ones which kind of scares me. Normally I am scurrying around trying to finish it up and photograph my build right before the deadline.
  19. nicely Done. i really like the path out side the barracks, looks great in Dark Grey Also the roof is great as well. Good job
  20. Great idea! nice scene and as Rogue said, great fountain and an original idea!
  21. Ditto what rouge said! Great idea and you have some great looking characters in there!
  22. Thanks again for the comments. @rouge, I did try the plate but the I would have had to raise it higher and it looked awkward. Ideally I would have just made a boat from scratch! @legonardo You mean I beat you to the a scene you were thinking of building? Ask de Gothia how many similar builds we have built! great minds think alike! Build on Guildsman! @meph I am pretty happy with the crane. not sure it is 100% accurate but it works! @Jason thanks for the compliments.
  23. I have played around with micro scale before but never to my liking. I love looking at others works as it gives me ideas. Like other have said, sorry about the brewery a great loss!
  24. looks great de Gothia! Now I need to work on a map!
