  1. Received reply from Lego re; GST. Dear Phil, Thanks for getting in touch with us. Yes all of the taxes are included in the price that you see. Please get in touch if you need anything else. Natasha Sheikh LEGO Direct Good to know!!!
  2. Might be time to send Lego an email..... I'm away from home at the moment, but Ill post a pic of my storage I got from Repco when I get back to Tauranga. Basically consists of 8 small drawers and 4 large drawers in one 'cabinet' about 20cm square. Cost $9 each too, which was very cool, so got a lot of storage for $60 total. Borrowed a label printer from wifeys work which meant labelling each drawer was nice and neat. EDIT: Have emailed Lego - will post response when I get reply.
  3. I just used the 'paste' method on some old light grey road plates and moon plates. I used 6% Peroxide, Oxyaction crystal white and arrowroot thickener to make it all gloopy. I figured that the surface area of plates would best suit the application of paste - and I was right. It only took 90 minutes here (Its almost the middle of summer here in NZ) out in the midday sun, and the plates are looking fantastic. If anything, I had them out for a little bit too long, as they are now a very very very slight shade lighter than my mint road plates. In all honesty, it takes a real good look to see the tint difference. In saying that, next time, I will check every 15 mins for the results. Yippeee!!!!
  4. Hey guys, saw the promo pics of all of the 2012 SW wave today at Toyworld - including Jabbas Palace, The Malevolence, Skiff and the new Gungan sub. They're all looking pretty cool! 6. Thats a pretty good deal for a 4483. I made one up a few months ago in Bley, which looks great - otherwise I'd be dead keen. On another note, my local TW has the SW advent calendars for $34.
  7. Just looking at Lego.com and notice that the Maersk ship has been reduced to $97.99, with shipping of $50.00. Could be a good chance to get this at a decent price....
  8. Not surprising really - Lego perhaps was a bit daft putting '2011' on the SW Advent Calendar, meaning it can really only be sold effectively this year. My Local TW still has HEAPS of them, and the countdown to Xmas has already begun.
  9. I was the 3rd viewer on the auction - it had been up for about 4 mins. Seller still has a Green Grocer up for $400 too. Almost as good as getting a UCS Vaders Tie MISB last week for $200. Bargains ahoy!
  10. Talk about being at the right place at the right time.... YIKES!
  11. Wow - thats really good for a MIB GE....
  12. Hang on - am I missing something? - I thought Amazon didnt ship Lego here - or was this from Amazon in France? Do you mind me asking how much the total cost of the GE inc shipping was?
  13. Hi all, I have a 21005 Fallingwater for sale. Built once, and living in a glass display cabinet since then. In new condition, and has never been in direct sunlight and is dust free. Includes box and manual (Which are really very nice!). Im asking $150 which includes postage anywhere in NZ, photos available on request. PM me if keen - I may list it on TM in a week or 2 if no interest here, but would be nice to see it go to a EB'er.
  14. Hey all - I have a question about the import duty tax. Does it apply to used Lego? Ive imported a few new sets via BL and got hit the fee, but am curious about bigger orders for used sets that are above the $400 mark. Any advice or links to websites that clarify this?
  15. I was just browsing our local Online Auction site here in New Zealand, and came across some mini-figure auctions that were classed by the seller as 'Vintage'. Upon closer inspection, the figs were SW figs from 2000 and 2002 (Palpatine and Obi-wan). Now, When I think of 'Vintage' Lego, Im thinking of Classic blue space and the Classic town (Legoland) series, along with 12v trains and yellow castles. Personally, I might just be showing my age, but a 9 year old figure does not qualify for vintage status. However, an 8 year old lego fan might consider anything made before their time to be. Or is it all just subjective? So - what do you folks think about the term 'vintage', and is there a specific time frame before a set becomes vintage? Or does it happen in stages - ie - goes into 'out of production', then into 'old' status, then finally becomes a vintage piece?
  16. Ha - funny you should say that - The first half of the game was so boring, I went off and working out some technic gearing..... Way to spend a Friday night On another note, I was told today that the SW advent calendars are coming into TW in a few weeks, plus some odd news - Apparently Lego NZ imported a whole bunch of Maersk container ships for release, but they have been prevented from being put on sale due to 'licensing issues'. End result, is that we may not be seeing any Maersk product for sale in retail shops here in NZ. If you want the ship or train, maybe get one online before they become discontinued.
  17. Hi all - first time poster here in the Technics / mindstorm category. Im normally a town / SW kinda guy, but have been having a few ideas about motorising my creations, and wanted to ask for some advice. It all started with seeing this post here on EB LINKY, and I thought that this idea would translate quite well for slower 4 wide cars travelling around a city scene circuit. But, the big idea I have, is that I want the cars going around my circuit to stop every now and then - For two reasons. firstly - a bit of realism, and secondly, to give the motors a bit of a break - especially if this set up is going to be running at a show. My questions is, what Mindstorms parts do I need to accomplish this? - sensors etc, or can the RCX / NXT bricks be timed to start and stop motors at predetermined intervals? Do I even need mindstorms to start stop motors at timed intervals? Id rather not spend big money on a NXT2 system, but would be happy to get an older RCX system that does the trick. Especially since they are pretty cheap on BL. Any help would be appreciated:)
  18. Im putting 99% of my desicion to do this down to nostalgia. When this set came out, I was a 10 year old Lego mad youngin', who had many many smaller town sets, but none of the biggies like the Airport Shuttle and Victory raceway - despite being on Xmas and Birthday wish lists for the next few years. (The Victory Raceway is next on my list ). I was never into Space or Castle (If I was, I would really be in trouble with the wife!!!) While I love my Modulars and UCS SW sets, I think finally getting this set is the cherry on top...
  19. Every now and then, we Lego fans make a purchase that may seem illogical to others, yet makes perfect sense to us. So perfect in fact, that one leaps into the air, whooping for joy, at finally getting our grubby mitts on the Lego set that dreams are made of. Never mind the stupid price. Never mind the fact the PPP ratio is a mind blowing NZD $1.11 per piece. Never mind the fact that Ill probably be living on spaghetti and 2 minute noodles for the next month. Gentle esteemed folk of EB, I have finally purchased a 6399 Airport monorail. While I didnt go completely bonkers and buy a MISB set, I still opted for one of the nicer used ones on BL, with all pieces present, parts in excellent shape, and no yellowing. Im really quite chuffed
  20. Yikes! - that Kreo wasn't long on the market before being heavily discounted..... I must say though, the whole idea of Transformers building bricks only works if the models actually transform. Building 'Alternative models' is a pretty lame gimmick. I remember some of my old Tente sets from the eighties, and there was a whole line of Transforming Machines / Robots - they were truly awesome.
  21. Hi Guys - Ive got a Maersk 10219 Train for sale. Built once and sitting in a glass cabinet on display since. In excellent condition with instructions, no box, all parts present, only half the stickers applied (on one side of containers). $150, buyer pays postage, or $170 including 8 Straight RC / plastic train tracks, also in excellent condition. PM me!
  22. TW have the 10212 Imperial Shuttle ($499) and the 10216 Winter Bakery ($99) in stock. The 10212 box is lovely and heavy
  23. No finds as such - Im on a 1990's Lego spree at the moment - am saving up for a few sets I missed out on as a young Lego fanatic - Its just heartbreaking seeing the NZD plummet:( Just noticed that a used UCS Falcon went on TM for $905. In two minds about this one - Yes, its a good price for a Falcon (considering several threads over in the SW forum), but It does kinda put me off when it states that parts are faded. Dusty I can deal with no problems, but if Im spending megabucks on a lego set, I want it to be in tip top condition. It might just be me though - what do people think about buying sets that have parts that are not in top condition?, and is the Falcon exempt just because it seems to be the holy grail of Lego ATM?
