  1. Very nice! Adding the console and Bessie were great touches. Now we just need angry Unikitty eating a Dalek!
  2. Favorite is the Flash... good printing, and I like the way they handled the mask. Least favorite might be Spider-Man. Plain arms, plain legs... such a dynamic costume on the page but the minifigure is just so bland.
  3. Two pictures (submitted with a few that are superheroes), a question, and an alternate head suggestion are hardly taking over (and you'll notice that I took out a few that had more non-purist parts than I had remembered). I suspect society will recover. Oh, that IS good... even better than the actual John Hurt head from the Harry Potter line! Thanks, KingPixels. Yup! Just with different arms.
  4. Love this! Particularly the version with the giant grin and the pink umbrella. Can't wait to show this to the kiddo later... Totoro is one of our favorite movies at home.
  5. A few recent attempts: Earth-2 Robin (Ambassador Richard Grayson): Bucky (weapon's not purist, but the rest of the figure is): Winter Soldier (ditto): And not superheroes, per se, but two versions of the "War Doctor" from "The Day of the Doctor"... still deciding which head I prefer (leaning toward Ki-Adi-Mundi, bug-eyed though it may be):
  6. I got the X-Wing microfighter set; fun little build, and it looks like something a little kid would ride at the mall while mom shops in Dress Barn.
  7. I like that solution for the turnbuckles and ring ropes! Maybe I'll revisit my own wrestling ring set-up with something like that in the future.
  8. Pretty much everything I've picked up lately has been licensed: Riddler Chase Kraang Lab Escape Penguin Face-Off Hulk Lab Smash Martian Manhunter mini-fig Batgirl keychain X-Wing Microfighter
  9. I like this a lot. Very clever!
  10. They keep making Spider-Man vehicles, but they don't give us the one vehicle Spider-Man actually did have for a time, the Spider-Mobile! Make me a set of that, TLG, and we'll talk. Though admittedly I may cave on the Spider-Trike set if I can get it on sale because like someone else said earlier, Electro is easily repurposed as Iceman and there's a sad lack of X-Men minifigs at the moment.
  11. Was very slow getting around to them, but I finally picked up the A-Wing fighter (one of my favorite SW ships), the Desert Skiff (mostly for the figures), and the Republic Troopers vs. Sith Troopers battle pack (because it was on sale). Haven't seen the Micro Fighters yet, but looking forward to getting a few of them. They look like fun little builds.
  12. 70s Spidey TV show... love it! Does it come with sound chips that provide the "wokka chikka wokka" music or do we have to make our own?
  13. I like it. The dragster is nice, but it looks so flimsy compared to the Batmobile in the same set. This has a lot more heft to it, and looks like the Riddler would be able to, you know, actually turn. A dragster's only going to be useful if your getaway route is a straightaway!
  14. I made my own quick attempts at some generic 007 minifigures a few weeks back: And a Daniel Craig variant:
  15. Bright, but tempting. The different Emmet, "regular" Wyldstyle, and especially Unikitty make this really enticing. Now I know why my son was so bummed that they didn't have this when we went to the Lego Store last weekend.
  16. $30 seems a bit steep for that Juniors Batcave set-up, but it's so very Batman '66 that I'll probably cave (ugh... pun unintentional) and get it anyway. Looks like I'll have to save my money for that GotG set, too... that looks amazing.
  17. Based on what's been released so far, my favorite Marvel set was Helicarrier Breakout. A little on the pricey side for what you actually get, but you get a nice assortment of marquee player minifigs, a cool little base set up, and the small SHIELD jet, which is pretty cool. My favorite DC set was probably Superman vs. the LexBot up until a few days ago, but I just got The Riddler Chase and I think that's my new favorite thanks to the Batmobile design, great looking new figs for Batman and Riddler, and the Flash figure which is my pick for the best-looking superhero minifigure yet in either line.
  18. Nice review, and good work on the modding. I really enjoyed putting this set together. The dragster was a little weak, but that Batmobile design is far and away the best one that Lego has put out yet, and the three minifigures all look great, particularly the new Riddler design and the Flash, who I think may be my favorite Lego Superheroes minifigure yet for either Marvel or DC. At first I thought it was a little weird that the mask/helmet was vinyl, but it has grown on me. I'm just happy he didn't have all those extraneous New 52 costume lines that he's been saddled with in the comics!
  19. I liked all of your customes, ianmrid, but as I'm gorging on Peter David's X-Factor right now (both the 90s and especially the 00s series), this one is my favorite. Jamie Madrox rules. Agreed. Height aside, you've captured the DC Animated Universe Toyman in all his creepy, creepy glory.
  20. It's definitely the cowboy parts that sell it for me, and getting an extra mustache is fantastic news. Great review!
  21. I thought this was a fun little set and a nice James Bond-style death trap (straight out of Goldfinger, which I imagine will be referenced in the movie during whatever scene this pops up in), and I'll have fun displaying various minifigures in it. For instance, I really want to see if I can concoct a decent John Wilkes Booth and have him turning the laser on Abraham Lincoln.
  22. Looking for a good decal for Kitty Pryde from the X-Men, a.k.a. Shadowcat. There are lots of great designs out there for most of the rest of the X-Men, but I can't find one for her. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  23. That Teen Titans Go! Robin is awesome.
  24. The only sets that really grab my interest so far are 70800 (mostly for the cowboy pieces), 70801 (I love a supervillain-y death trap scenario) and 70808 (the closest we'll ever get to an official version of the bike from Akira), but I think they all look pretty cool, even if I don't have much interest in owning all of them.
