Ahoy shipmates! Brickington Sails Forth! is a brickflick series that I have released erratically since 2010. It follows the story of a Redcoat Captain who is sent on a mission to capture some "foreign pirates" from a rival brand, Toyrific. Along with his crew - Sergeant Block, Corporal Stud and Private Brickdrip - Captain Brickington has been shipwrecked, attacked by Islanders, visited the Pirate haven of Skulls Nest, and fought Samurai/Ninja pirates on the high-seas. UPDATE: 19/12/2016 - This series has now concluded! See Episode 9 below for the final episode! New Episode: Episode 9: Finale Captain Brickington has tracked down the Foreign Pirates, and has the backing of the LEGO Pirates Captains Committee to finally attack them. The epic showdown is about to begin! The Series So Far... The Sardines Revenge - Ship MOC Related - a one-off video based on Brickington's Roman-era ancestor - - The story of the Redcoat Captain's father, who was a Pirate, as he attempts to find another ship... His rival, Captain BarnacleBrick has the same idea however... P.S. Mods, i know there is a brickflick forum, but i feel that this is truelly a pirate matter, and is certainly made with the classic-pirates enthusiasts in mind and so feel it will be most appreciated here! Feel free to move though if this is a problem :)

Ahoy chaps! Its been a while, but i've finally finished episode two of my series. I actually filmed it about five months ago or so but various real life events unfortunately meant that I've been unable to finish editing it, or start filming a third episode, until now! Voice acting for the third is already finished and filming may begin later today! So, heres episode two: And for those of you who werent around for episode one, or want a reminder: Enjoy! All feedback and ratings are of course appreciated! Duck

As i'm not yet famous nor rich enough to copyright the name, be my guest and go ahead! Glad you like it and that Brickington already has someone named after him! -

Ahoy! Its been a while, but i have finally got around to making a new movie, and so here it is! This is a series which i will be releasing as and when i complete episodes, featuring the adventures of Captain Brickington and his men in the hunt for some mysterious "Foreign Pirates". This episode features probably more talking than future episodes will, so i'll admit that the stop-motion isnt great at times - i promise in future more action-based episodes that the stop motion will be smoother! Also the lighting goes abit dodgy in the middle, but its okay again by the end so bare with it! All feedback and ratings are much appreciated! So, without further ado!

Thanks for the positive feedback folks! Its really appreciated and i'm beaming with pride hehe! Currently writing the script for episode two as we speak (well, type!), and i have atleast five episodes planned, but this could well turn into more as i come up with more and more ideas Thanks again for the feedback! And a quick message to the mods - I decided to place this here as opposed to the Brickflicks forum, on the basis that i felt that the people in the pirates forum would appreciate and enjoy this more. I understand if you do decide to move it however! So, without further ado!

After much pondering, i've decided to place this here, so i'm sorry if this is the wrong place! Mods, please move this if necessary and appologies in advance! Anyway! After a long break, i'm about to embark on a new movie! Huzzar! Plus, to complicate things for myself, i've decided i want to animate the mouths of my minifigs - but i dont have any software suitable. Can anyone advise me on how this is done, and what programmes are out there to do it? I know it could probably be done by editing individual frames, but i wondered if there was a slightly simpler option available? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and again, sorry if this is in the wrong place! Duck

Appologies for the inconvenience, and thankyou for moving the topic

Note to the moderators: Sorry for being a pain, as i know this is the wrong forum (My post count doesnt allow me to post over there ), i just wanted to give the genuine lego fans of eurobricks a look at these! Feel free to delete/move this post if you see fit . So, while giving my room a long-overdue clear out, i came accross where i'd stashed all my old lego magazines and comics and suchlike, and needing to make space i've listed the ones which i can bare to part with on ebay at £0.99 each (UK only i'm affraid, but if your desperate and from abroad, i'm sure we can sort something out! ). I really just want them to go to a good home, rather than into the bin, so please take a look! Theres quite a lot of "Lego Adventures" on there, including the second ever issue, plus a few other lego-related-comics and a random "Jack Stone" promotional poster i found. So, should anyone be vaguelly interested, please go to http://shop.ebay.co.uk/duckularwow/m.html?...p;_trksid=p4340 and take a look! Duck

Preliminary Pirate set from the 80's - it was never released!
Duck replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in LEGO Pirates
In my opinion, the fact that this is based in the napoleonic era and these clearly french troups are bluecoats adds weight to the argument of where the bluecoats allegiences lie. Also, surely following this, redcoats must have been in the pipeline as an opposing faction, possibly confirming the view that TLC intended the redcoats and bluecoats to be different factions - and not part of the same one as some would believe? -
Thanks for all the positive feedback guys! Its really appreciated. Glad people like the cabin, it was a design which i'd had in my head for a while and i was pleased with the outcome! I should be recieiving my (hopefully) final bricklink order for this ship this week, so once that arrived i'll be heading down to hobby craft to get some material for sails and then i'll hopefully be posting more detailed and higher quality pics! And then, filming can commense!

Great review! I shall certainly be getting several of these once they appear in the UK! Just the army builder we need!

Now taking YOUR ideas for the future of LEGO Pirates theme
Duck replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
Something which i have been thinking about while making my own ship, was what if we had a hull section which split in half sideways. Odd suggestion? i'll explain. My idea falls into place in particular if there were bluecoats and redcoats on the market - the pirates already have their own ship, and i cant really see TLC releasing a further two ships at once - as ships are expensive and the regular 2.4 children family wont be able to afford 3 ships on the whole (Obviously there are us lego pirate enthusiasts who would somehow manage to rustle up the money from somewhere even if it meant spending our last penny! But i think 3 ships would be a no go for TLC basically!). By having a ship which split sideways in two, it would allow the more imaginitive to have a redcoat AND bluecoat ship at once - from a side angle. Perhaps changeable colour sails and cannon flaps could be included so that the two "ships" could be made to look totally different. When two ships are not required on a voyage - i.e. Its just the recoats persuing the pirates, the ship could be clipped back together to make one complete ship. I'll probably come back later with a better and more thought out explantion, but theres my two coppers! :) -
Preliminary Pirate set from the 80's - it was never released!
Duck replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in LEGO Pirates
Like Tohst suggests, i think this was more likely to be a promotional picture rather than a set. I remember (As i'm sure many others do) when the lego catalog used to have quite impressive pictures like these in the middle of the page featuring all the sets to create a scene. My guess would be that those were perhaps 4 or 5 different sets from the pirate (more specifically, soldier) theme which had been put together to show what could have been achieved - and a few more bluecoats thrown in for effect! Pity these never got released though... Back then, TLC seemed to think about little things like "There should be houses for civilians to live!" whereas now... well, look at the pirate theme and try to find one person who isnt a pirate or soldier! -
After a break where i was too busy to continue work, and the arrival of more bricks from bricklink and resuming work on the ship, i can now reveal my near-complete pictures of the ship. All that (probably) requires work now is the prow, a change of cabin door and sails. I will admit that it might have changed ever so slightly since these pictures, as mere moments afterwards it was in pieces on the floor having been erm... shipwrecked (I.e. Fell off the shelf ) but it has now been rebuilt and is pretty much as it is in these pictures! So, here goes: More pics can be found at http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/142743 I'll post some better quality pics when its complete! Feedback is as ever appreciated!

Congratulations Bonaparte! I wish you all the best and enjoyment in your new role!

Possible worldwide ban on the sale of lego on ebay?
Duck replied to Duck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When i received the email it did immediately occur to me that the EU has alot of different laws governing freedom of trade and migration and whatnot, sometimes reaching rather silly levels (Like for example the English FA weren’t allowed to impose a rule that English Football Clubs must have atleast 6 English players - which seemed pretty logical in our own country considering the amount of foreigners- but this wasn’t allowed due to the freedom of migration between European citizens) so the chances of trade being restricted looked pretty slim. So it seems we've diagnosed that this originated (and possibly only) from Ebay UK, and I’m guessing the reason why only a few of us received this email was because: So anyone not signed up for that would not have received it. Though it cannot be ruled out that it’s just an impersonating spam, the email really does seem genuine - if a tad odd that they think a petition will solve this In conclusion then, I’m glad that we've generally come to the conclusion that this could not happen anyway, and the likelihood of TLC being one of the provocateurs is extremely slim considering the creativity levels and the amount of adult fans. Again, I just felt this was something worth mentioning for its possible repercussions on Lego Fans and something worth discussing by those "In the know" on these sorts of things -
Well, i've had a play around with the bricks i have and have come up with a few ideas for the prow, including the use of angled 2 x 1 plates linked together which i have seen used numerous times on other ships. The question now is, what colour to go for. I have been using black bricks in planning because i have the most bricks in that colour, but these do not show up well on photos so i cant even upload an image, and therefore they'd look rubbish on a film also. Obviously i dont want anything thats going to look silly with the colour scheme so can anyone suggest a good colour for the prow decoration? Also, for the captains cabin, i was considering using 1 x 1 transpartent blocks for windows to give a panneled window effect. Does anyone know if this tehnique has been used in the past?

Possible worldwide ban on the sale of lego on ebay?
Duck replied to Duck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Do you mean to say that the emails i've been recieving off Gordon Brown arent real either? And there i was thinking i was going up in the world! Oops! Silly me! I do agree that the whole thing sounds very odd. Indeed online petitions are usually not the way forward - i suppose that if this is genuine, Ebay could be becoming desperate as they'd be losing alot of income over this - but then again they still would have the non-EU ebay sites where people could sell what they like, which most of europe would probably resort to importing goods from. How odd. Here is the image again, with (hopefully) all traces of email address edited out! -
Possible worldwide ban on the sale of lego on ebay?
Duck replied to Duck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The email originated from ebay as it came from the usual email address and included all the usual features to show that it was not a fake (including your registered ebay name at the top). Again, i want to stress that lego being included in this is purely speculation but felt that it was a just cause for discussion of the possible repocussions of this Here is a screenshot of the message sent (With my email and name edited out, obviously). Also to note it came from Ebay.co.uk which might be why others have not recieved it. The link was also to genuine Ebay. image removed Also, from re-reading, i can see that "Worldwide" in the title might have been a little dramatic, and EU would have been better!
