  1. Unless you are willing to make it really complicated, round towers for example instead of square towers, interesting roof techniques. Stone and woodwork, and a bunch of details.
  2. A moment of silence for this magnificient ship. At least it's good to hear you'll try to rebuild her. Isn't this the reason why they didn't let women on a ship in the first place?
  3. Honey! That looks great Siercon and Coral! Nice usage of parts too, like the window shutter as honeycomb, very creative! Also the bear is a nice touch, and I like the scale you've used! It took a time before I noticed the use of Hagrid's 'body'. Great work here.
  4. It depends on how detailed and realistic you want your MOCs to be. Building a castle can be a simple job indeed by just stacking bricks, but if I built a MOC I always create a challenge for myself. Every MOC becomes more detailed and accurate, also because your knowledge about architecture, shipbuilding, rigging systems, brick creativity etc. improves. Not to mention your stock of bricks. I never tried to built a castle as I didn't have the bricks, but I did build cliffs and rocks. On a certain moment I had collected enough of these to build land-based MOCs, especially castle themed ones.
  5. Beautiful cog there! Especially the wide deck and the sail is very inspiring. As the A.T.C. doesn't have a trade cog yet, it would surely come in handy to transport our goods overseas. For a good price of course! Great work!
  6. The A.T.C. has been silent past days, but not without a reason. The foundations of the Great Warehouse of Avalonia, located in Albion, have been completed. It will possibly become the largest building in the known world. It will include all the supplies needed for Albion to withstand a siege for many years, huge water depots, food, armories, livestock, clothing. Perhaps even some soap. And after that, the construction of the A.T.C. headquarters in Albion (the trade guild) will be started. The Avalonia Trading Company has been saving bricks and other resources for months. Oh and the picture of the A.T.C. governor on his steed will be up soon. It appeared I lost the minifigure in a previous LEGO event. Stay tuned! Pictures are up soon!
  7. If you go for a French ship of course. I don't know how realistic you want the ship to be, but the stern shape, interiors and decorations varied a lot between the nations.
  8. The Avalonia Trading Company doesn't dispatch troops to fight out a war in which the company is not directly involved. They are there merely for the defence of A.T.C. property and to make sure the trade routes remain safe. But every drow creature who draws near an A.T.C. object will be met with lethal force. The A.T.C. will provide supplies to all of the allies at the frontlines, food, water, weaponry, tents, everything.
  9. Giving this some more thought, I would go for this: Remove the part above the yellow curved line to maintain the horseshoe shape. It would be very accurate.
  10. That looks very promising! My only suggestion is to use more yellow. For example around the windows and small decorations like flowers and such. The side galleries are awesome! Very smooth transitions there. I can't wait to see this part connected to the rest of this magnificient vessel.
  11. Are you sure this post belongs in this thread? Yeah!
  12. Avalonia Trading Company reporting in! Nice idea to create a pool.
  13. The wizard shop is amazing! The tower looks great and fits very well with the architecture. I also like the wizard items scattered around the place. I'm not so sure about the different window colours, but that's just me. Fantastic job here.
  14. So Admiral Croissant and I went to the museum where the Vesta met it's end. We've been building on our ships there while the museum was open. We've received many positive reactions, and we've been interviewed as well. And of course I have some pictures. The pictures are taken by Admiral Croissant's father. In the car it goes, transport was rather easy! Building time. The Vesta is being restored to her former glory. Even the museum director brought us free coffee and cake. Me receiving feedback of a talented ship model builder. We've had some awesome conversations. Just behind the Fourageux you can see the Alceste in her current state. And she grows.. That day I've build the pumps on the lower decks and some more interior details. And the Alceste, tattered sails but hey, she has been standing on the shelf for nearly half a year. Thanks for watching. More pictures on Brickshelf.
  15. Real pirates won't die either.
  16. Nope, no instructions. Only imagination. Interesting idea though! I have the original Armada flagship instructions, and I've always wondered what that floating thing with trapdoor and net was... And why is it connected with a rope to the 'mothership'? Mysteries to me. Now I see the instructions I should go and build my Armada flagship, just for the nostalgic feelings.
  17. I feel your pain there. I've split up my ship in four vertical sections as well, each section is quite strong and modular too. I have to split it up as I can't move it otherwise. And it's handy for transport!
  18. I didn't expect that. Genious use of the bucket there! Shame those are not available in black or grey. I might use this sometime, but is it balanced? Or does it keep tipping over? I laughed at your bucket invention, so you got a title for this.
  19. Is it awkward to mention all my roofs are built that way?
  20. The use of rare colours is expensive too. Have you seen the price of dark blue?
  21. Aye.. But that still means I will be too late with my entry. I expected to do a lot previous week, but school projects ruined my LEGO moments. I will submit my entry, I haven't been working hard for nothing no? But I'll have to exclude myself from the competition. Just take my entry MOCs as free builds, with a backstory.
  22. This is a collection of some very impressive creations! Very realistic, and accurate to details. Great choice of colours and well photographed. I just couldn't help but to notice the cart with the two cows will never fit on that bridge.
  23. Or a wife/girlfriend with a dangerous vacuum cleaner.
  24. That would fit much better in a PM Commander Law.
