Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Captain Blackmoor replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
Rainbow bricks are simply the colours I won't use at that moment. Mostly bright colours. But the tower is nice! Normally I don't really like the red-yellow combination but it looks rather good here. -
Well... I just need to share this. When I was away, someone tripped over my ship. And now no one dares to admit it.. As you can see the beast is utterly destroyed. Especially the bow, it's just gone. It will take weeks to rebuild her. I expected to complete the entire hull within two weeks as my parents go on holidays. It appears I will be spending this time with the dreaded bow techniques again..

There is some delay in the construction of the A.T.C. warehouse in Albion, mostly because holiday plans and such. I hope to complete the A.T.C. trade ship for the commerce challenge before I'm going on holidays though. -
Nope, Albion has been added to the map on the correct spot. The A.T.C. lands have been claimed right above Albion after the location was announced.

Wow. Nice work Legonardo!

Commerce Challenge: Woodward Stables
Captain Blackmoor replied to mephistopheles's topic in Guilds of Historica
Incredible. Great choice of colours and the cheese slopes! I'm not sure about the straw though, it looks kind of bulky compared to the rest of the MOC which has a great level of detail. Perhaps a huge pile of yellow levers instead? -

Ah yeah the good Captain's fine vessel. Although mine has a different design, the typical Dutch (shallow water) elements are present. Greenhair's Yacht is used for transport of the rich people and recreational business. The A.T.C. trade ship will have a wide deck and large hold to transport goodies all over Avalonia. It should be up soon! Some finetuning and sails. -
No one did take this in bad taste. But from what I know, and Zcerberus also mentioned it, people improve with feedback, not with critisizm. And the line in between is quite thin. Feedback should motivate, encourage and inspire the builder.

Not everyone around has a huge pile of bricks at his/her disposal, not everyone is able and or willing to spend a fortune on bricks. From what I can see here is that Captain Settle has done a great job here. And it's not only about the creation itself, it's also about taking pictures and presentation. These pictures are sharp and a lot of people can learn from this, including myself. The farm itself looks great, I like the farmhouse and all the detail you've put in. I'm not sure about the green windmill/tree thingy though.

It appears the question has been answered. So we have no further need of this topic. Here.

An A.T.C. trade vessel for the Commerce Challenge will be finished soon. I have invented a brand new hull technique and I can't wait to post the results! It is somewhere based on these late 15th century ships: Although they say the ship is from around 1500 I believe it's 1700.. This one is a better example from 1450. -
Welcome neighbour!

It's a fine vessel indeed! I like the coloursheme and the details at the stern. And the rigging is awesome. But I do notice there are a few bricks missing and such, it looks like she needs that little bit of fine tuning to make it perfect.

See my previous post. Most of the longboats aboard a third rate were also equipped with a mast and a hold under the waterline for supplies. There are even some examples carrying swivel guns.

Soldiers Outpost by Brick Vader

It could be featured on the forum where Brick Vader is a member. And of course it's featured on a gallery site. -
I have to ask you again to resize your pictures to the maximum size allowed; 800x600 pixels. See my previous post if you need help, and otherwise PM me. Already thanks.

Nice find! The crispy white building really stands out, the nice colour of the sea as well. And the photography is great in here. The washline is a nice touch. -
Don't forget that the A.T.C. will sell those tasty fishies to your men in that case.
-
Seems to be the A.T.C. has to share the fishing waters.
-
It's true my longboat is quite large, but it's meant for a minifig scale third rate. It was required to hold about 80 men. Le Duquesne is one of my inspiration sources, as you can see it holds quite a large longboat as well: But again, my example is my first attempt at a longboat.
-
The boat has been on the shelves for some time, and it's still not completed. It needs a lot of finetuning. You guys were referring to the technique right? It's quite sloppy and I'm not going to keep it that way.

The capital has been moved and I didn't notice it? It has been at the South of the A.T.C. lands as far I remember. Did it really move? edit: Now I notice the red circle in the map. Seems to be the capital is still where it was.

I've made this one a while ago. It still needs improvement but I'm getting there.

I've made a quick overview of the A.T.C. lands in their current state. Linky As you can see there is a lot of empty space ready to be cultivated into farmland, forests or production facilities. The are currently only three buildings in the area; the sawmill, the dairy farm and the watchtower. A fishing and trade harbour is under construction, as well as the huge A.T.C. warehouse located within the walls of Albion. There will be a building which produces Avalonia coins from gold bars, more defence structures (barracks, stables) and of course the large A.T.C. headquarters, also located in Albion. Let the coins flow and the economy grow ladies and gentlemen! -
Would you resize your pictures to a maximum of 800x600 pixels? Otherwise the page takes ages to load. There are links to turotials in my signature in case you might need help. Already thanks!
