So far so good, but I would make sure to use sloped sides to avoid a shoebox shaped ship. Also keep an eye on the height of the ship compared to its width. Good luck! And bon appetit with the Irish lamb stew.

Full-hull French Frigate (WIP)
Captain Blackmoor replied to Frank Brick Wright's topic in Pirate MOCs
I would fill up the inner structure to improve it's strength since it is supposed to carry all the weight of the ship, including masts. Also the sturdiness is very important. For the rest it looks great to me! Just make sure the structure is very strong!- 77 replies

I also really like the use of the yellow goblets between the stern windows. I haven't seen that very often.

The Great Span at Queenscross
Captain Blackmoor replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very cool build! It looks like it's made from marble, so clean. I do notice you use the Armada flagship flag, the same colours as the Avalonia Trading Company. Can our tradecarts have free passage? -
That is one marvellous ship there! Nice lines, shape and rigging. I would pay attention to the hull piece colours though, and perhaps you can refine the headrails a bit to match the level of detail with the rest of the ship. Overall, very nicely done! Congratulations.

What a fantastic overhaul. It actually looks like a set LEGO would produce! I love the attention to detail. Especially the cliff is very nice. Awesome job here!

Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Captain Blackmoor replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
Here is another long-awaited sneakpeak of the most ambitious project by the Avalonia Trading Company, the warehouse of Albion. This warehouse will serve both as the city and A.T.C. warehouse. The city goods mainly consist of drinking water, grain, livestock and lumber, whilst the A.T.C. goods focus on exotic products (carpets, gunpowder, gems, tobacco and spice) ore, basic foods (grain, fruits, fish) and finished products (cheese, tools, weaponry, wine and beer) The warehouse is heavily defended as it stores valuable resources, not only for the A.T.C. but also for Albion and surrounding lands. The warehouse is already quite big and I have difficulties moving it around. It should be finished before my birthday, which is on the same date as some deadline.. Cheers. -
Tournament of Retribution III - Voting Results

May the best Bluecoat win. Congratulations guys! Good luck in the next round! -
As these ships were crudely built compared to the later Galleons it would be a nice addition to add extra hull-reinforcing wooden beams everywhere. I would also recommend to use white ornaments for ships with expensive cargo and bare ships for bulk goods like timber and grain. Use a big majestic flag at the stern too. You can also create a wheatered look or storm damage. Carracks were built as warships too, in that case you could build fighting positions like they had on castles. Use decorative shields along with them and a lot of flags as these ships were seen as glorious building projects. You could also look up the Dutch Batavia ship, a latter version of the Carrack/Galleon. Hope this helps a bit, good luck on the ship! It looks great already.

Pefectionist is back! With a stunning, stunning collection of ships. Absolutely lovely, a gift for the eyes. It's just that awesome. The shapes, the masts and sails, the interior and all those details! A masterpiece to be proud of mate. I have nothing to add, honestly.. Okay, I've just added one thing.

We have a traitor in our midst?? How can that be? Otherwise, go ahead, move to Nocturnus and we will never have to trade again. Brickington! Welcome to the lands of Avalonia! If you need lumber or specific, exotic goods, the Avalonian Trading Company is at your service! If you bring the gold, that is. -
