This looks great! Crammed with detail and nice aspects in a small scene. Great use of different colours and the new stone bricks. Fantastic build!

Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Captain Blackmoor replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
My fault, 2 months. Somehow I just missed October.. Perhaps I'm able to brew something up but then I should make haste with the warehouse, and I don't like it to haste. -

Thank you. Although I'm a bit worried now, as the fifth guild challenge's deadline is set for 11 November, which is just a month while I have so much other stuff planned. -
Just don't shoot the foremast will ya?

I was already afraid someone would notice them. They are in fact a present for a friend of mine, so I can't touch them. Although a beer or two gives fantastic results! -

A quick glance at the construction site of the Avalonia Trading Company warehouse and the A.T.C. shipyard! Just don't look at the mess. The front of the warehouse, it will be a tall building, probably the highest except for the Albion Gate complex. The Warehouse will contain Albion's water, food, timber supply and many other things. The main A.T.C. office and the A.T.C. treasury will be located in the headquarters, the next building. The warehouse will have two defensive towers (1 has been completed as seen in the picture) in order to protect the precious goods inside. A huge crane system operated by horses will also be implemented. The warehouse will also be a long building, it now occupies 3 plates but it will become 6. One important question for you fellow guildsmen! The roof colour; dark orange or dark green like my previous buildings? And here we have the A.T.C. Trade Vessel, featuring a huge spacious hold for all the cargo and a relative high mast. A modern capstan to increase efficiency. Not many men are required to sail this ship because it's simplicity, which makes it quite cheap to own! It includes a new hull design, and I'm glad to call this still a WIP as it's not a flawless technique yet. The vessel is unarmed. Just because an escort ship is waiting to be built. And it will be a large ship for sure. (Carrack anyone?) Things slowed down past weeks, but the A.T.C. continues expanding! Now I thank you for your presence at the A.T.C. construction site and shipyard! -
Albion: the capital city of Avalonia
Captain Blackmoor replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
It's in progress. It took some delay because of the disaster which struck my ship some time ago. And I was working on a small Trade Vessel as well meant for the Commerce Challenge, which is over by now. I have some WIP pictures of both the trade vessel and the warehouse, I guess I should post them sooner or later. -
Makes me think about the Ayleid ruins in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The tomb looks great, as well for the fallen tower and the landscape. Great work there!

Happy Birthday Bonaparte! Our great leader has gained another year. Make sure the rum is present during the party! Cheers!

I love that new technique! Looking good Horry! Keep an eye on the height of the ship, as bomb ketches were pretty low ships.

Some fine buildings for our beloved city gentlemen! Well done! -
That is one impressive gate you've build there. Thick walls and strong towers. You've incorporated the stone-bricks in the walls quite nicely. I should give that a shot soon. The wooden structure on top looks great as well. I expected a bit more detail at the back of the gate, especially the ground looks a little bit bare if you compare it with the richly detailed gatehouse.

This looks great indeed! More trade partners for the A.T.C.! If our tradeships can find them of course.. -
Fantastic work here! The outpost looks great on that cliff. I also can't imagine the amount of 1x1 round plates you've used for the water. Excellent work!

What's with the countless question marks? -
That's pretty cool! While it looks new it still has the classic Islander look! Well done.

Please resize your pictures to the maximum of 800x600 pixels. After that we can discuss the start of this nice vessel!

Now that is probably the best Third Rate I've ever seen, which is also not suprising as not many of them are being completed! Only because you've completed it already deserves so much respect. Words cannot describe the accuracy of this ship, the realism, and it's size. The rigging is already fantastic! You have done an outstanding job on this, and I have a little present for you soon! -
Same here. I'd love to see them!

Amazing find! Especially the cave looks great, but also the overall feel of the island is really nice. Thanks for sharing! -
This is awesome. The whole idea is epic, and the result is amazing. The pub, the waterfall and the countless details.. Really well done! And please keep going!

This ship looks fantastic, but I would defenitely change the windows in the stern galleries for some windows which fit better in the time period. Your ship looks like a late 18th century ship which had different side galleries. These are very hard to build, but consider the stern as the crown on your work. I would also recommend to place the mizzen mast a little more towards the stern, and the fighting tops should be located somewhat higher. I would also like to compliment you on the headrails, it looks great and is very hard to achieve! And, does she have a name already?

Thank you for all the support. While I was rebuilding it gave me the chance to improve several important things in the inner structure. A chance I'd rather not had, but it's much stronger now. I should complete it again this weekend, the bow was literally a pain in the rum, but the rest was quite intact. It fell apart in large pieces. In the meantime some BL orders arrived so I can work my way further towards the stern, as that was the plan.
