  1. As first I have to thank you all for your very helpful tips and compliments. I'd like to tell what I do next: 1 Add the blood details on the fallen soldier, it was there but it fell off and forgot to replace it. 2 Adding pieces of wood to the water, I agree the water looks quite 'clean' for a battle. 3 Placing more men on the deck below, I'll try to make a hole in the hull and some men pumping the water out of the hold. 4 I haven't enough tan tiles for the deck so I try to make a SNOT deck just like CGH does in his Prins Willim. 5 Making the story more clear, in the ship there are soldiers (bluecoats) and common cannonfood crewmembers which like a bit like pirates. The ship is being attacked by a British vessel, one British soldier tries to board but fails. 6 Adding more pieces of wood and damage to the ship. 7 LAST BUT DEFENITELY NOT LEAST: making some much better pictures in the weekend, then I have time! The problem is you may only post 3 pictures of your entry and that's not enough to show my entry in detail. On my Brickshelf there are a lot of detail pictures. I'm really happy with all those comments, I thank you again for it. Thanks! Now get back to work...
  2. I surely am! Thank you Armendariz! You have made a very nice video too!
  3. Oh, I didn't notice that. Sorry. I'll enter the Creative Critics too.
  4. I've tried the demo and was rather impressed by it but the ships have a little problem: If you leave them alone, chasing an enemy, your ship is following it and not firing the whole broadside on them automatically. Except when the enemy vessel comes in range of the broadsides... :pir-skull: The gameplay is very nice though. I've also discovered the pause button so you can slow down or stop the speed your ships move to keep an overview of battle. First time I lost every ship.
  5. Congratulations! All what you have to do now is make your avatar! I'm trying to decide if I should buy something from Ebay or order bricks from BL to make my own things.
  6. I like the Ebay auctions, very helpful. I might bid on the Eldorado Fortress.
  7. I'll improve then ASAP, but to give the Creative Critic guys a chance to critisize something, I've posted some pics. The resolution of my other camera is good but the resizing program ruined the quality of my previous pics. And I have a shortage of time at the moment and I only have spare time in the evening, when it is dark. Using lamps give a yellowed light and heavy shades. Natural light is better. Ás I said, I try to save some time for taking photo's.
  8. You have to join EB before 5 March to join the contest. And you joined before 5 March. Everyone is building on his entry now, till 31 March. Your entry must be finished then. You can find more information in the first post too. Good luck and happy building!
  9. Vig. 65b Updated: March 9 Updated: March 11 Updated: March 16 Hello all! I've build a part of the gundeck and the storage below it during a battle. I liked to build something with action in it. Let's see how it is to live on a ship during a bloody battle! I've got a new camera! I've decided to take some (better) pictures for my entry since they aren't that good. Hope you like them! The interior of the gundeck, the British vessel has destroyed a cannon and it's on fire! A crewmember desperately tries to extinguish the fire. On the right there are two men aiming a cannon. Hand to hand combat is performed on the upper deck, where the British soldier tries to board the ship. Looks like the French called Captain Zuloo for reinforcement! He left the rum behind to help our men a hand against the British! Here is the hold of the ship. A cowardly crewmember is drinking the rum. In the hurry Captain Zuloo bounces his lovely glass of wine... The exterior area of the ship. Here you see the rowboat where the British guys trying to board with. Sad enough one of them is distracted by a parrot floating in a barrel so General Armendariz can kill him easily... :pir-skull: More detailed pictures on my Brickshelf! Thanks for watching!
  10. Yeah, I like it too, the SNOT beach and water, the palm tree. I like them. Great find Capt. Kirk!
  11. The RBR is quite a nice set to have, I got one and some pieces of it from Ebay. I never thought you could build such things from the pieces in the RBR. My compliments for that! I only don't know what the 'thing' in the low left corner is. Very nice creation!
  12. Everything is clear to me, I'll post my entry again soon after I've taken nicer pictures. My resizing program ruined them. I hope this will be a very nice contest.
  13. I think that's a step too far, I see no piracy or age of sail in it. For me, steam punk has always been the border for LEGO pirates. But I don't really know, there's not a clear border between the age of sail and steam-punk.
  14. I'm in the need of a governor's bicorner hat, not the one with the skull but with the white trim on it.
  15. I like this, there could be some more hand to hand combat in it but this looks great too. The Black Falcon's siege equipment is fantastic. The castle too, but I have seen it before. The crusader hiding in the tree trunk is a nice idea. I doubt if that crusader thinks the same. Great work again!
  16. Another great piece of history, I like the last one the most. I've seen that scene on so much pictures...awesome. I'm curious to see the next one!
  17. Now you say it...probably a good idea! But the hard thing is to wait 6 months before buying it. But if I buy it after six months for a reasonable price, I have some money left to spend on LEGO!
  18. As I said before, and before that, this is a beautiful project so far! You could easily buy a new car instead of spending so much on LEGO right? No, seriously, this is such an amazing project!
  19. This one is very good! I've tried myself to make a stagecoach once, it's quite difficult and you succeed in it. The skeletons in it make this creation very spooky. This is one of my favi's. Great work, again!
  20. Updated some accessoires and added some new. Hope you like them The new cannon: The ship's bell: And the not-yet-done capstan: More coming soon!
  21. I've downloaded the demo and played it, both the land battles and sea battles have excellent graphics and gameplay. The sea battles are a bit difficult because you have to keep a sharp eye on every ship. The land battle was just like the previous total war games, but with better graphics. You can even destroy a house with your cannons while the enemy tries to hide in it. :pir-skull: Looking forward to buy it! Only 2 days left!
  22. A sword is translated as 'zwaard' swords = zwaarden Hopefully this might help.
  23. Nobody has a chance against my building qualities! I wish everyone the best of luck!
  24. This is awesome, the year 1100 is very special for the village I live in, the first building was build that year! The church. But now back to your MOC: the houses in it are awesome, I love the different colours of planks used. The roofing technique is great. The rocks too. Is that tree new? It would be awesome if the landscape evaluates along with the castle, like growing trees, eroding rocks and so on.
  25. I like those images a lot, it makes me think of the game The Elder Scrolls of Oblivion, especially the first pic. Great work!
