Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!

National heritage if you ask me... -
I agree the dragon is cute. I also really like his fluffy toy. Very creative and original idea.

Shady Inn (Versions 1 & 2)
Captain Blackmoor replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I admit this is really nice. I've seen it before but it is still very pleasant to the eye. I like the abandoned look on it, the planks for windows and doors and the coffin in the street is not really something what you see every day. The first version is my favorite because it looks more like a Wild West tavern. -
Whaha, the guys shooting apples of the poor lads their heads, one missed. The inside is very funny too, my favi is the guy jumping in the barrel of apple mush. Looks like he has a lot of fun there. It must be a funny and disguisting job, stamping apples. The house is really good made too.

I really like this, the idea and the MOC of course, is awesome. I like all the mine features in it which are used as a rollecoaster now. There's still a gem in the mine though...
-
This is a much better pictue I must say. I really like the large ammount of custom made torso's and pieces in here.
-
Another great MOC. I like the story too, as always. I also like the gun you have, I can see in the barrel. Oh wait, do I see a bullet in there too?
-
Thanks! I'm glad you confirmed the thing I was worried about. And if I might succeed in painting the hull you'll see the colour is different then LEGO black. Off to another way to solve this problem...

You guys have pretty much boats! I don't have pretty much boats! The great ammount is: FOUR brown rowboats! Oh, and two yellow rubber boats, which can be used for rowboats too.

I like it, and it might be a mighty fine idea to make a stratego game with LEGO figures!

Brickbeard's Bounty Vs Red Beard Runner
Captain Blackmoor replied to Dreamweb's topic in LEGO Pirates
That's difficult to say, I haven't the BB yet but I know it contains some great pieces which the RR has not. But I have the RR and it's rigging is much more better then the BB. The RR has been (and still is) a great set to have. -
Hehe, then I'll share a secret as well. I got two younger brothers and they defenitely don't like LEGO. In the past we all got Pirate sets for our birthday and so on, but since they don't like LEGO anymore (and I still do!) I have all their sets and bricks now. :pir-skull: I still don't understand why my brothers don't like LEGO anymore...

Which company makes better pirate-themed sets?

I've voted for Playmobil because some accessoires fit perfectly in LEGO MOCs, I talk about sacks, bottles, groceries, baskets and fish. I've used some in my MOCs but I've replaced them with real LEGO after all, except the bottles. -
That's the narrow hull, unfortunately there are no large hulls with black trim. The only thing left for me is getting some black paint.
-
Oh, my mistake. But I think airbrushing is not a bad idea to create a black waterline though.

The "La Formidable" 24 gun ship opening!
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thanks! The ship is for display later so I follow your tip by tiling the deck and use plates for the minifig spots. I won't order them right away because I'm planning to update Port Augustine soon too and I try to combine it in one order. I think that's better then thousands of little parcels with small ammounts of bricks. And to save some money of course. I get loads of inspiration from your creations this way. Man I'm addicted to BrickLink!! -
I agree! Those palm trees are wonderful! Great find Captain!

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
"some progress" he said. This is awesome! The hold looks great from the inside. The stern is cool too. And I'd never expected it was that strong, my ship will break apart if I carry it around. Keep up this wonderful progress! EDIT: How can I forget to mention those wonderful cannons?? Awesome. -
I like this, another great creation from Grave Stone. It looks like a tradition to put a red eyed bat in every Grave Stone MOC you make. The MOC is very well made, the bell in the church is awesome. The only thing is this MOC is less spooky then the others. The bat and the torches make a creepy look but maybe it would be better to make the church more desolate to erode it a bit.
-
I must say I like it! Well done for the first ship. You have replaced the yellowed white bricks by red bricks, a good choice because it looks awesome now. The stern is my favorite part, the flower is a very nice decoration in here and the colours are great. I also like the added figurehead. The ship has a nice crew too. One suggestion: Clean the ship up a bit, it's quite dusty. I think dust and little brothers are the greatest enemies for Lego!
-
I know that. Nice title to have though.

Nelson was shot through the spine, he didn't died at the same moment when he get shot. He was taken to the sickbay but they couldn't help him anymore. Nelson lived long enough to hear he had won the battle.

The "La Formidable" 24 gun ship opening!
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in Pirate MOCs
Ah, that's the little 'shield' which represent my French army. The flag is in blue and white and the bluecoat soldiers too. I tried to put a crown above the shield in the new stern as well. It's a shame there are no large yellow transculent cones for the lanterns. -
Ah, I didn't know that. But now I do! That's were you are the History Professor for anyway! It certainly answers my question. It would be cool if you make a custom Nelson minifigure and place it at the spot where he died when your ship is finished.
