Actually the base is dark bley. With this (in dark bley): inserted into the centre of the wheel, stud end down. The stud is inserted into the central hole of this (in white): and the other side of the central hole is attached to a standard 1x2 jumper plate (in dark bley). The Brickshelf folder, now public, is HERE.

Thanks for all your kind words everyone! To be honest - I'm not a fan of politicians in general. Whichever president or minister it is. When it's time for voting here in Poland, I usually vote for the ones I dislike the least... Having said that, I still think it's a big loss for the country to lose so many officials during one accident. And, regardless of their functions, they were people with families. I have a friend who is a police officer and his friend died in that crash - he was an officer of BOR, which translates into Government Protection Bureau. Also, another friend of mine, a former soldier, has once met the chief of National Security Bureau who also died there. Not to mention my yet another friend who works in the Parliament as a public relations specialist of sorts, I haven't spoken to him since the crash but I'm pretty sure he knew quite a few of them personally. So these were not some anonymous people that died in there...

I've never made anything quite like that before, but I really felt like paying some kind of tribute to the victims of yesterday's Polish plane crash in Smolensk, Russia. 96 people were killed, including the president of Poland, his wife, and lots of government officials and members of the parliament, as well as the president of the Polish National Bank, president of the Polish Olympic Committee and many others. Real people were killed in that crash and it's a memorial of sorts dedicated to them. IMAGE 2 IMAGE 3

How open are you about your Lego passion?
Dreamweb replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't introduce myself by: "Hi, I'm Dreamweb and I like Lego", obviously. If I did this, guess I'd have to tell about my other hobbies and I have a few so that's really not such a good idea. But I am pretty open about it and most of my friends know about it. Whenever somone starts discussing Lego, I'm more than willing to talk about it. Also, a lot of people learn about my hobby by seeing my Lego first rather than hearing about it. When somone visits me, it's really hard to miss my cabinet with pirate ships, so they usually ask me about it. Actually I think it's better to introduce people to it by showing it to them. If you just say to someone "I like Lego", some people may find it strange. But if you first show some of your Lego stuff to them, and my experience says they usually like it, and then say "Oh, you know, it's a hobby of mine", it's much better because people can actually experience how cool it is, and that's better than words. -
The Godfather (or any of the sequels) Star Wars Episodes 2 and 3 Die Hard 4 Lord Of The Rings (any of them) Se7en Apocalypse Now Metropolis Blade Runner Rain Man Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 Kill Bill (either of them) Shrek 2 and 3 just to name a few...

I didn't see a topic like that so here we go. Are there any sets that you have built so many times that you could build them without instructions? Which one is the largest? For me it was the 6274 Caribbean Clipper. It was my biggest set when I was a kid and I would often dismantle it and then put back together. First I used the instructions but one day my mother put it in the trash without telling me. She didn't know it was so important to me. Since it was a long time before the internet era, I had no choice but to build it without instructions. Having built it so many times, I remembered where each part should be put so I built it quite a few times from memory, maybe it wasn't 100% accurate but I'm sure it was more than 90%, which I think is not bad for a set this size. Sadly I haven't built it for quite some time so right now I would defenitely need instructions to do that. So which sets can you build like that?

Remakes, remakes... Will they ever end? I must say I'm extremely sceptical. I loved the original A-Team and I think it's one of those things which - once gone - shouldn't be brought back to life. It would be a completely different story if they used original cast, but of course George Peppard has passed away and the rest of them aren't getting any younger... With characters as colourful as these, using different actors kind of kills the magic... I'll probably watch it in cinema anyway, but I'm afraid it's gonna feel like using clone brand bricks, if you know what I mean.

I like this MOC a lot. Especially the roof and the yard with very good looking walls and gate. Expect it to be soon

[COMIC] "Kings And Queens Of The Sea" - Episodes
Dreamweb replied to Dreamweb's topic in Pirate MOCs
Episode 25 - Laurantia is up! If you've read the previuos episode, there was a tie-in to this story right at the end of it. It obviously takes place in the past and far away from where the 'main' story occurs. But I really felt like doing something like that. Hope you enjoy it! -
Actually, that's not what I was asking about. I would be the one doing the whacking, not some other user's sigfig. My sigfig just wouldn't be present at the scene. It's as if I sent someone a letter bomb - he opens it and gets hurt or killed, and I am responsible for it although I wasn't there... That's what I meant. So is that allowed?
-
A quick question: is the presence of my sigfig required? Cause I have an idea of a vig where some other fig gets whacked by me but sort of remotely, without my direct presence... Is that OK?
-
So many to choose from... Perhaps I'll give this contest a try too... Anyone can whack my fig if they want, here it is (same as the avatar):

I love it! Expect it to be blogged on Classic-Pirates.com soon!

Where do Rare/HTF Parts come from?

Thanks, so I was right, it's not rare, just old. Too bad I don't have any hair for this head. -
Where do Rare/HTF Parts come from?
Dreamweb replied to Turaga of Force's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hi there, just a quick question: I came across this picture on brickshelf, it was singed "special and rare pieces" or something like that. The question is about this yellow "head". Is it really such a rare piece? Because I've had exactly the same piece for years and never thought it was special. And BTW, what set does it come from? I must've gotten it in a large pile of used bricks once. Thanks! -
The Skull Beneath The Skin - Pirate Hideout
Dreamweb replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Pirate MOCs
A very impressive MOC indeed! I think it definitely deserves a place on Classic-Pirates.com frontpage. Expect it there soon! -
Very good simonwillems! You got almost eveything right! In fact you've also mentioned some songs I wasn't considering myself, but given the large number of songs and different ways of thinking, I was actually expecting that! These include Sweet Lady and Khashoggi's Ship, although I did consider The Invisible Man. And here are the songs you didn't mention that are also featured in this MOC (I shall cover them with spoiler tags just in case you or someone else wants to guess by themselves): I'm sure a lot more can be found with some more imagination though!

I'm glad you like it. As a fan, I guess you've noticed numerous Queen songs represented in this MOC...

[COMIC] "Kings And Queens Of The Sea" - Episodes
Dreamweb replied to Dreamweb's topic in Pirate MOCs
I've always considered them to be gloves actually... Thanks for the comments everybody! -
Thanks for the comments. You're right the colour scheme is indeed very... colourful. But you have to consider the fact that Queen were a colourful band - all those flamboyant and eccentric clothes and so on... So in this context I'm finding those - otherwise weird - bright red, yellow and tan colours quite fitting, and they go well with the overall image of the band IMO...

107C This ship's captain's life is not an easy one... Not only did the pirates break out of their holding cell and are now wreaking havoc all over the place - the ship has also been attacked by a dragon carrying some strange green warriors... And to make things worse for the captain, it looks like his beloved lady has locked herself in the captain's cabin... with one of his soldiers! Officers Deacon, Bulsara, Taylor and May are still manning their posts, but where is the captain? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some background info: This MOC was about 80% ready, with the Technic figurehead long in place, and it was just supposed to be a standard Imperial ship (for my British faction). However, one day I was looking at the MOC, thinking of ways to improve it, and when I looked for like the 1000th time at the figurehead (I was considering replacing it with something completely different), suddenly it struck me - "Wait a minute, he looks kinda like Freddie Mercury, now, why didn't I notice that before, it's so obvious now!". So, being a long time Queen fan, I stuck to that idea, and the rest of the MOC pretty much built itself. The general plan was to make it still a 100% pirate era creation (that is, if you believe in dragons and other fantastic stuff ), but there are numerous allusions to Queen songs placed all over the ship. If you're a Queen fan like me, I think you will have fun finding all the songs' titles hidden on these pictures. If you're not, it's OK to just look at it as a normal Pirate MOC. [COMIC] "Kings And Queens Of The Sea" - Episodes
Dreamweb replied to Dreamweb's topic in Pirate MOCs
Episode 24 - Cemetery In My Mind has been up on Brickshelf for two days now. Check it out if you want! For those who remember the story about the maze - this is a sequel to those events. The story is inspired by a real cemetery I've once seen. I'm planning to begin work on next episodes soon. What I'm thinking of is quite different from what we've seen so far - one can say the series is going into a slightly different direction. But, as always, we'll see how it all turns up when the final results are ready.
