Same thing here, in Europe, we still don't know it either for sure...although after my telephone call to the Belgian LEGO service desk, they told me: impulses in january, the rest in March. They better stick to it !
-
Well, it REALLY is beautifull ... I am looking forward to that movie of the ship as well, its easier for us then BL. Brick build hulls are usually used for such large ships, but don't worry too much, your ship turned out just fine!

The Dragon Defender Catapult has a deceiving name! It appears this weapons is used for defensive reasons while it is actually engineered to do the opposite! What castle can withstand the combined power of a battery of Dragon Defenders, a few dragons and a wizard? Together they form the ultimate siege army... Set name: Dragon Defender Theme: Castle Subtheme: Dragon Masters Set number: 6043 Number of pieces: 151 Minifigs: 2 Released: 1994 (discontinued) Release price: 12 USD Current price: 10-15 USD on ebay and Bricklink; 35 USD for MINT Brickshelf Peeron Bricklink Box The front, found on Brickshelf: with thanks to Theif for this and the next picture! And the back: including some very nice alternatives, I especcialy like the war tower variant. The instructions The front of the instructions, showing the catapult and minifigs. A step-by-step building plan, so, although not intended , it can also be made by children... These pages show you a bit more about how the dragon's head is constructed. And the back. Just two other pictures of the Dragon Defender catapult. Minifigs An officer and a "grunt", the yellow dragon plumes are very nice and can be used for a lot of things ! The Dragon Knights have the standard old style, non-printed backs. Parts There are 2 weapons and a shield for every soldier, and the dragon wings and helmet are very nice items as well, you do get value for your money when you purchase this set! Blocking pin The blocking pin is very easy to use and effective: it blocks the mechanism from firing. The set Here we have a nice frontal view of the Dragon Defender catapult: the dragonhead must be a fearsome sight for the enemy... And a side view, showing the mechanism. Another nice point is that there are many additional weapons attached to the catapult, the only weapon I miss is a bow and arrows (or a crossbow). Price: 9/10 (You can find them at a very good price, even now! If you love the Castle theme, this is a must-buy!) Design: 9/10 (IMHO One of the best catapult designs ever, and they are made of many little bricks, not of a few large pieces like the more modern ones.) Minifigs and parts: 8/10 (Two minifigs is just enough for a set of this size and price, still I wouldn't mind paying another dollar or two/three to include a dragon! Also contents a lot of weapons for your soldiers.) Playability: 8/10 (If this set included one enemy soldier or a dragon this rating would be 10/10, we just don't have a good target to fire at right now ) Overall: 8,5/10 (One of the stronger Castle sets that includes a lot of useful parts and weapons, actually.... I think I like the entire Dragon Knights line! ) Conclusion: Just buy a castle of a random faction, then get two Dragon Defenders assisted by a Wizard, a dragon or two and some ground forces and you already have a perfect battlefield! While these catapults bombard the castle, the Wizard uses his magical powers to weaken the walls and defenders inside. The dragons attack from the sky, breathing fire towards the besieged castle...the Dragon Knights await their turn to finish them off, and will only attack when the enemy (both castle and army) lies in ruins! Thank you for reading my 6043 Dragon Defender review, I hope you enjoyed it! (and to those that concerns it, please feel free to index this review). Thanks!

Very nice, Phred! I just love how you made those cannones and the deck itself looks awesome too. And I think one can make a fine vessel without tiling them, especcialy if it has a good-looking crew! (therefore I would dispatch that weird looking Captain Skullhead with the giant-poo-parrot on his hand ) Good work, Phred .

Welcome to Eurobricks, matanui911, I hope you will have a lot of fun! I am certain you will feel right at home here .

I think the tree looks fine. This MOC is just a masterpiece ! The fight with the crownies looks good and the scene near the river with the kid/hobbit looks like it comes straight from the Lords of the Rings (which I am a huge fan of).

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Zorro replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Any updates yet, dear Captain GreenHair? -
I asked to put the shakos in the PICK A BRICK section online, and next to Eurobricks I also voted for Classic-Pirates.com (added it) .

In regard to the link to the survey provided by CopMike: CLICK HERE An opportunity to offer feedback to the LEGO Group! Tell the LEGO Group what you'd like for the future of LEGO Pirates! Would you like a Dutch Merchants sub-theme with a focus on trading rather than fighting? Would you like smaller ships like the "cutter" from the Imperial Trading Post? Citizen I think. 100 posts indeed. And yes, it is really done for a good reason... hopefully the problems will be solved so the vassals and guests can use this function again.
-
And your search engine isnt broken, it has been disabled for vassals only, as a (temporary?) measure against overload since EB crashed a lot the last weeks... It may or may not be enabled again if the real reasons behind this have been found...
-
There is a new one standing by in the Academy, but with PTV and stuff it hasn't been moved down here yet... And yes, it is a pictorial. I believe there are more in the older threads as well.

38. svelte_corps - Brickbeard the Felonious Fishmonger 17. pe668 - Colonic Cannonball 41. Captain Zuloo - Dinner Time! 1st vote: "38: Brickbeard the Felonious Fishmonger": Innovative, brilliant, original, awesome and just...finished in every single way are some of the words and sentences that come into my mind when I had to judge this fantastic entry! The usage of (the new) minifigs was well-thought out and Brickbeard's 'shop' looks amazing. The story about the mermaid and her caviar is cruel as well. A very big from me and I hope you win a prize, you most certainly deserve it. 2nd vote: "17: Colonic Cannonball": Also a great entry that has both cruelty and humour. The story is good, but the only thing holding it from placing it on top was the fact it looks a little bit unrealistic. Since it is LEGO though, I think it is more then worthy to give it my second vote. 3rd vote: "41: Dinner Time": I gave my third vote to Captain Zuloo's MOC because once again it is a very good mixture between cruelness and humour. The Captain's chair and table are finished into every detail and the tiling looks fantastic as well. The face of the Captain was well-chosen. Further contestants for my top-3 were: 22 LegoJoe: He truly had a great MOC, it had humour, cruelty and the details were awesome! He also listened to the creative critics and he only carried out the improvements that actually did improve his entry. I doubted a long time before giving this fourth place... 28. 74louloute - When I grow up, I wanna be a pirate: Again a very humerous PTV entry, and it was very original as well! The only reason I didn't choose it for my top-3 is that IMHO it didn't have enough cruelty for the PTV theme. Still a fantastic MOC! 7. Fat Tony - Pirate's End: And yet another possible winner! Very realistical and cruel MOC. The only negative point is that it wasn't very original, considering all the gallows in the PTV contest. 14. Majek - Piracy and the Slave Trade, 20. Matn - Governor's End and 26. Guss - Mickael the cruel are the other MOCs I considered my favourites. And I wish to thank everyone for submitting so many beautiful PTV entries and MOCs in general, I really amused myself during the Pillage The Village Contest! THANKS!

Not at all, thanks.

Yes, Erdbeereis does have some very strong entries hasnt he...and his creative critic was very good too! It was my first contest and I had much fun, can't wait till the next one! And such great prizes, I really wonder who is going to win that BSB . Oh yeah, and you can maybe use the torsos for that next contest, Erdbeereis1

The Wizards are the backbone of the Dragon Knights Clan, not only do they control the mighty dragons, they also supply their armies with special weapons, enchantments, potions and other magical stuff... Set name: Magic Shop Theme: Castle Subtheme: Dragon Masters Set number: 6020 Number of pieces: 45 Minifigs: 1 Released: 1994 (discontinued) Release price: 4,50 USD (I paid mine 100BEF (2,5 Euro) but it was on sale...) Current price: 5-10 USD on ebay and Bricklink; 15 USD for MINT Brickshelf Peeron Bricklink The box The front, a Brickset find, with thanks to WhiteFang . The back of the box shows us some really good alternatives! And yes, the magical wand glows in the dark, just as the LEGO ghosts do! With thanks to brickshelf. The instructions Page one. Page two, so just two pages in total with very easy steps! The Wizard One of the first minifigs wearing a beard! And his back...just plain blue covered with a black cape. Parts No unique parts in this set, but still some usable parts like a sword, a wand, a scroll with spells, some colored bricks that represent herbs, a bird and a cup. Overview A hollow tree filled with some supplies every wizard or decent army needs! His grey owl/bird stands on watch to discover possible enemies. One of the sides, the other side is just the same but without the branch. And this is a picture taken from behind, his magic shop is invisible if seen from here! Just another safety issue... Price: 8/10 (Fair price considering you have to pay for the packaging as well, but if you can you are better of buying larger sets.) Design: 8/10 (Yes, I truly like what they have done with such few pieces! Only thing missing is another 'magical' weapon.) Minifigs and parts: 9/10 (Well, it is some kind of impulse set, so you know it only contains one minifig.) Playability: 7/10 (You just need at least one other set to have some real 'action', but in regard to the low cost, most of us can easily buy another one) Overall: 8/10 (Although I am no real Castle fan, I did enjoy adding this set to my collection. Impulse sets like this one are just great for armybuilders too!) Conclusion: Since I like nearly all Impulse Packs, I like this one as well. (especcialy since Castle and Pirates are my favourite LEGO themes!) They are very cheap and allow someone to own the most important minifigs without spending very much money or effort. Even the S&H is nearly free and mostly they include some popular items and/or weapons. This one has the magical wand and the tree includes some good bricks as well. And I didn't have a Wizard before, so I was truly happy to receive this set for free (read intro), together with the 6043-1: Dragon Defender, which I will be reviewing shortly! Thanks, nephew!

Actually they are all LEGO torsos so i don't really know...I am planning to use some decals soon though (for my English and Germans). Thanks for the positive comments .

Holland? No way, too small, too Orange and too....cheesy.... first we must get back Bonapartes throne of France, ally with the German states, invade Spain and then great-britain! Vienna will be ours and then Russia! The Papal states, Helvetia and Prussia will be powerless to stop us as well! Actually i still need to upload more pics of my new infantry and I also build some artillery for my Landwehr!

THE OLD Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List
Zorro replied to The Middleman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
And of course +1 for Erdbeereis1 as well! Damn, I didn't know one could have so much bad luck with one simpel transaction like this (not Strawberrys fault, but the fault of Postal Services and bricklink) but I am certain Erdbeereis1 will tell you more about it later... -
My opinion: I think this is one of the best entries yet! I am truly happy you are still allowed to contest in the PTV 'game'. Your fortress is just plain fantastic, and your beach looks marvelous as well. The bell is original as well, it has only been used in a very limited ammount of MOCS and perhaps in no singel PTV entries at all! Possible improvements: 1) I don't know the big paddles of that little boat look good, I think smaller standard paddles look better. Are they LEGO btw? 2) Use larger pictures (800x600 = max), that way everyone can have a better look at everything! 3) Add more details to the water, like more waves and perhaps some rocks in the water.
-
My opinion: A very strong entry, Olog, and I hope it will be accepted! Possible improvements: 1) I would add some defenses, like cannon posts. 2) Your ship looks a bit empty i'm afraid. You can change this by adding more pirates, weapons, cannons,... 3) I would add red stripes or skulls to your sails of the pirate ship. 4) Add more details in general: more (dead?) pirates/villagers, more weapons, animals, plants,... Non-brick related advise: 1) I really would suggest adding larger pictures of this beautiful MOC, this allows us to see even more of it (800x600 = max).
-
Good job, mate! I really like your entry and no suggestions here: it is soo good already!
